1 C hildren, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is just and right.

2 H onor (esteem and value as precious) your father and your mother—this is the first commandment with a promise—

Honra a tu padre y a tu madre, que es el primer mandamiento con promesa;

3 T hat all may be well with you and that you may live long on the earth.

para que te vaya bien, y seas de larga vida sobre la tierra.

4 F athers, do not irritate and provoke your children to anger, but rear them in the training and discipline and the counsel and admonition of the Lord.

Y vosotros, padres, no provoquéis a ira a vuestros hijos, sino criadlos en disciplina y amonestación del Señor.

5 S ervants (slaves), be obedient to those who are your physical masters, having respect for them and eager concern to please them, in singleness of motive and with all your heart, as to Christ —

Siervos, obedeced a vuestros amos terrenales con temor y temblor, con sencillez de vuestro corazón, como a Cristo;

6 N ot in the way of eye-service and only to please men, but as servants (slaves) of Christ, doing the will of God heartily and with your whole soul;

no para ser vistos, como los que quieren agradar a los hombres, sino como siervos de Cristo, haciendo de corazón la voluntad de Dios;

7 R endering service readily with goodwill, as to the Lord and not to men,

sirviendo de buena voluntad, como al Señor y no a los hombres,

8 K nowing that for whatever good anyone does, he will receive his reward from the Lord, whether he is slave or free.

sabiendo que el bien que cada uno haga, ése volverá a recibir del Señor, sea siervo o sea libre.

9 Y ou masters, act on the same toward them and give up threatening and using violent and abusive words, knowing that He Who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and that there is no respect of persons (no partiality) with Him.

Y vosotros, amos, haced con ellos lo mismo, dejando las amenazas, sabiendo que el Señor de ellos y vuestro está en los cielos, y que para él no hay acepción de personas. La armadura de Dios

10 I n conclusion, be strong in the Lord; draw your strength from Him.

Por lo demás, hermanos míos, robusteceos en el Señor, y en el vigor de su fuerza.

11 P ut on God’s whole armor, that you may be able successfully to stand up against the strategies and the deceits of the devil.

Vestíos de toda la armadura de Dios, para que podáis estar firmes contra las artimañas del diablo.

12 F or we are not wrestling with flesh and blood, but against the despotisms, against the powers, against the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere.

Porque no tenemos lucha contra sangre y carne, sino contra principados, contra potestades, contra los dominadores de este mundo de tinieblas, contra huestes espirituales de maldad en las regiones celestes.

13 T herefore put on God’s complete armor, that you may be able to resist and stand your ground on the evil day, and, having done all, to stand.

Por tanto, tomad toda la armadura de Dios, para que podáis resistir en el día malo, y habiendo cumplido todo, estar firmes.

14 S tand therefore, having tightened the belt of truth around your loins and having put on the breastplate of integrity and of moral rectitude and right standing with God,

Estad, pues, firmes, ceñidos vuestros lomos con la verdad, y vestidos con la coraza de la justicia,

15 A nd having shod your feet in preparation '> firm-footed stability, the promptness, and the readiness produced by the good news] of the Gospel of peace.

y calzados los pies con el apresto del evangelio de la paz.

16 L ift up over all the shield of saving faith, upon which you can quench all the flaming missiles of the wicked.

Sobre todo, embrazando el escudo de la fe, con que podáis apagar todos los dardos encendidos del maligno.

17 A nd take the helmet of salvation and the sword that the Spirit wields, which is the Word of God.

Y tomad el yelmo de la salvación, y la espada del Espíritu, que es la palabra de Dios;

18 P ray at all times (on every occasion, in every season) in the Spirit, with all prayer and entreaty. To that end keep alert and watch with strong purpose and perseverance, interceding in behalf of all the saints (God’s consecrated people).

orando en todo tiempo con toda deprecación y súplica en el Espíritu, y velando en ello con toda perseverancia y súplica por todos los santos;

19 A nd also for me, that utterance may be given me, that I may open my mouth to proclaim boldly the mystery of the good news (the Gospel),

y por mí, a fin de que al abrir mi boca me sea dada palabra para dar a conocer con denuedo el misterio del evangelio,

20 F or which I am an ambassador in a coupling chain that I may declare it boldly and courageously, as I ought to do.

por el cual soy embajador en cadenas; que con denuedo hable de él, como debo hablar. Saludos finales

21 N ow that you may know how I am and what I am doing, Tychicus, the beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, will tell you everything.

Para que también vosotros sepáis mis asuntos, y lo que hago, todo os lo hará saber Tíquico, el hermano amado y fiel ministro en el Señor,

22 I have sent him to you for this very purpose, that you may know how we are and that he may console and cheer and encourage and strengthen your hearts.

el cual envié a vosotros para esto mismo, para que sepáis lo tocante a nosotros, y que consuele vuestros corazones.

23 P eace be to the brethren, and love joined with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).

Paz sea a los hermanos, y amor con fe, de parte de Dios Padre y del Señor Jesucristo.

24 G race (God’s undeserved favor) be with all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with undying and incorruptible. Amen (so let it be).

La gracia sea con todos los que aman a nuestro Señor Jesucristo con amor inalterable. Amén.
