1 W hen Solomon finished the building of the Lord’s house and the king’s house, and all he desired and was pleased to do,

Cuando Salomón acabó la obra de la casa de Jehová, y la casa real, y todo lo que Salomón quiso hacer,

2 T he Lord appeared to Solomon the second time, as He had appeared to him at Gibeon.

Jehová se apareció a Salomón la segunda vez, como se le había aparecido en Gabaón.

3 T he Lord told him, I have heard your prayer and supplication which you have made before Me; I have hallowed this house which you have built, and I have put My Name there forever. My eyes and My heart shall be there perpetually.

Y le dijo Jehová: Yo he oído tu oración y tu ruego que has hecho en mi presencia. Yo he santificado esta casa que tú has edificado, para poner mi nombre en ella para siempre; y en ella estarán mis ojos y mi corazón todos los días.

4 A nd if you will walk before Me, as David your father walked, in integrity of heart and uprightness, doing according to all that I have commanded you, keeping My statutes and My precepts,

Y si tú andas delante de mí como anduvo David tu padre, en integridad de corazón y en equidad, haciendo todas las cosas que yo te he mandado, y guardando mis estatutos y mis decretos,

5 T hen I will establish your royal throne over Israel forever, as I promised David your father, saying, There shall not fail you a man upon the throne of Israel.

yo afirmaré el trono de tu reino sobre Israel para siempre, como hablé a David tu padre, diciendo: No faltará varón de tu descendencia en el trono de Israel.

6 B ut if you turn away from following Me, you or your children, and will not keep My commandments and My statutes which I have set before you but go and serve other gods and worship them,

Mas si obstinadamente os apartáis de mí vosotros y vuestros hijos, y no guardáis mis mandamientos y mis estatutos que yo he puesto delante de vosotros, sino que os vais a servir a dioses ajenos, y los adoráis;

7 T hen I will cut off Israel from the land I have given them, and this house I have hallowed for My Name (renown) I will cast from My sight. And Israel shall be a proverb and a byword among all the peoples.

yo cortaré a Israel de sobre la faz de la tierra que les he entregado; y esta casa que he santificado a mi nombre, yo la echaré de delante de mí, e Israel será por proverbio y refrán a todos los pueblos;

8 T his house shall become a heap of ruins; every passerby shall be astonished and shall hiss and say, Why has the Lord done thus to this land and to this house?

y esta casa, que estaba en estima, cualquiera que pase por ella se asombrará, y se burlará, y dirá: ¿Por qué ha hecho así Jehová a esta tierra y a esta casa?

9 T hen they will answer, Because they forsook the Lord their God, Who brought their fathers out of the land of Egypt, and have laid hold of other gods and have worshiped and served them; therefore the Lord has brought on them all this evil.

Y dirán: Por cuanto dejaron a Jehová su Dios, que había sacado a sus padres de tierra de Egipto, y siguieron a dioses ajenos, y los adoraron y los sirvieron; por eso ha traído Jehová sobre ellos todo este mal. Otras actividades de Salomón

10 A t the end of twenty years, in which Solomon had built the two houses, the Lord’s house and the king’s house,

Al cabo de veinte años, cuando Salomón ya había edificado las dos casas, la casa de Jehová y la casa real,

11 F or which Hiram king of Tyre had furnished Solomon with as much cedar and cypress timber and gold as he desired, King Solomon gave Hiram twenty cities in the land of Galilee.

como Hiram rey de Tiro había suministrado a Salomón madera de cedro y de ciprés, y cuanto oro quiso, el rey Salomón dio a Hiram veinte ciudades en tierra de Galilea.

12 A nd Hiram came from Tyre to see the cities which Solomon had given him, and they did not please him.

Y salió Hiram de Tiro para ver las ciudades que Salomón le había dado, y no le gustaron.

13 H e said, What are these cities worth which you have given me, my brother? So they are called the Cabul Land to this day.

Y dijo: ¿Qué ciudades son estas que me has dado, hermano? Y les puso por nombre la tierra de Cabul, nombre que tiene hasta hoy.

14 A nd Hiram sent to the king 120 talents of gold.

E Hiram había enviado al rey ciento veinte talentos de oro.

15 T his is the account of the levy which King Solomon raised to build the house of the Lord, his own house, the Millo, the wall of Jerusalem, Hazor, Megiddo, and Gezer.

Esta es la razón de la leva de personal que el rey Salomón impuso para edificar la casa de Jehová, y su propia casa, y Miló, y el muro de Jerusalén, y Hazor, Meguidó y Gézer:

16 F or Pharaoh king of Egypt had gone up and taken Gezer, burned it with fire, slew the Canaanites who dwelt in the city, and had given it as dowry to his daughter, Solomon’s wife.

Faraón el rey de Egipto había subido y tomado a Gézer, y la quemó, y dio muerte a los cananeos que habitaban en la ciudad, y se la dio en dote a su hija la mujer de Salomón.

17 S o Solomon rebuilt Gezer and Lower Beth-horon,

Restauró, pues, Salomón a Gézer y a Bet-horón de abajo,

18 B aalath and Tamar (Tadmor) in the wilderness, in the land of Judah,

a Baalat, y a Tamar en tierra del desierto;

19 A nd all the store cities which Solomon had and cities for his chariots and cities for his horsemen, and whatever Solomon desired to build for his pleasure in Jerusalem, in Lebanon, and in all the land of his dominion.

asimismo todas las ciudades donde Salomón tenía provisiones, y las ciudades de los carros, y las ciudades de la gente de a caballo, y todo lo que Salomón quiso edificar en Jerusalén, en el Líbano y en toda la tierra de su señorío. Leva para las construcciones

20 A s for all the people who were left of the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites, who were not Israelites,

A todos los pueblos que quedaron de los amorreos, heteos, ferezeos, heveos y jebuseos, que no eran de los hijos de Israel;

21 T heir children who were left after them in the land, whom the Israelites were not able utterly to destroy, of them Solomon made a forced levy of slaves to this day.

a sus hijos que quedaron en la tierra después de ellos, que los hijos de Israel no pudieron exterminar, impuso Salomón una leva de prestación personal hasta hoy.

22 B ut Solomon made no slaves of the Israelites; they were the soldiers, his officials, attendants, commanders, captains, chariot officers, and horsemen.

Mas a ninguno de los hijos de Israel impuso Salomón servicio, sino que eran hombres de guerra, o sus criados, sus príncipes, sus capitanes, comandantes de sus carros, o su gente de a caballo.

23 T hese were the chief officers over Solomon’s work, 550 who had charge of the people who did the work.

Y los que Salomón había hecho jefes y vigilantes sobre las obras eran quinientos cincuenta, los cuales estaban al frente del pueblo que trabajaba en aquellas obras.

24 B ut Pharaoh’s daughter came up out of the City of David to her house which Solomon had built for her; then he built the Millo.

Cuando la hija de Faraón subió de la ciudad de David a la casa que Salomón le había edificado, entonces edificó él Miló.

25 T hree times a year Solomon offered burnt offerings and peace offerings on the altar he built to the Lord, and he burned incense with them before the Lord. So he finished the house.

Y ofrecía Salomón tres veces cada año holocaustos y sacrificios de paz sobre el altar que él edificó a Jehová, y quemaba incienso sobre el que estaba delante de Jehová, después que la casa fue terminada.

26 A nd King Solomon made a fleet of ships in Ezion-geber, which is beside Eloth, on the shore of the Red Sea, in Edom.

Hizo también el rey Salomón naves en Ezyón-géber, que está junto a Elot en la ribera del Mar Rojo, en la tierra de Edom.

27 A nd Hiram sent with the fleet his servants, shipmen who had knowledge of the sea, with the servants of Solomon.

Y envió Hiram en ellas a sus siervos, marineros y diestros en el mar, con los siervos de Salomón,

28 T hey came to Ophir and got 420 talents of gold and brought it to King Solomon.

los cuales fueron a Ofir y tomaron de allí oro, cuatrocientos veinte talentos, y lo trajeron al rey Salomón.
