1 A nd as was coming out of the temple '> area], one of His disciples said to Him, Look, Teacher! Notice the sort and quality of these stones and buildings!

Cuando salía del templo, le dice uno de sus discípulos: Maestro, mira qué piedras tan enormes y qué construcciones tan magníficas.

2 A nd Jesus replied to him, You see these great buildings? There will not be left here one stone upon another that will not be loosened and torn down.

Jesús le dijo: ¿Ves estas grandiosas construcciones? No quedará ni una piedra sobre otra que no sea totalmente derruida. Señales antes del fin

3 A nd as He sat on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple '> enclosure], Peter and James and John and Andrew asked Him privately,

Y estando él sentado en el monte de los Olivos frente por frente del templo, le preguntaban en privado Pedro, Jacobo, Juan y Andrés:

4 T ell us when is this to take place and what will be the sign when these things, all, are about to be accomplished?

Dinos, ¿cuándo serán estas cosas, y cuál será la señal cuando todas estas cosas estén para cumplirse?

5 A nd Jesus began to tell them, Be careful and watchful that no one misleads you.

Y Jesús comenzó a decirles: Mirad que nadie os engañe.

6 M any will come in '> appropriating to themselves] the name which belongs to Me '> basing their claims on the use of My name], saying, I am! And they will mislead many.

Vendrán muchos usurpando mi nombre, diciendo: Yo soy el Cristo. Y engañarán a muchos.

7 A nd when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not get alarmed (troubled and frightened); it is necessary take place, but the end is not yet.

Cuando oigáis de guerras y de rumores de guerras, no os alarméis; tiene que ocurrir, pero todavía no es el fin.

8 F or nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places; there will be famines and calamities. This is but the beginning of the intolerable anguish and suffering '> birth pangs].

Porque se levantará nación contra nación, y reino contra reino. Habrá terremotos en diversos lugares, habrá hambres. Estas cosas son principio de los dolores de alumbramiento.

9 B ut look to yourselves; for they will turn you over to councils, and you will be beaten in the synagogues, and you will stand before governors and kings for My sake as a testimony to them.

Pero vosotros estad alerta sobre vosotros mismos; os entregarán a los tribunales y seréis azotados en las sinagogas y os harán comparecer ante gobernadores y reyes por causa de mí, para testimonio a ellos.

10 A nd the good news (the Gospel) must first be preached to all nations.

Pero primero debe ser proclamado el evangelio a todas las naciones.

11 N ow when they take you and put you under arrest, do not be anxious beforehand about what you are to say nor meditate about it; but say whatever is given you in that hour and at the moment, for it is not you who will be speaking, but the Holy Spirit.

Y cuando os conduzcan para entregaros, no os preocupéis de antemano por lo que vais a hablar, sino hablad lo que se os comunique en aquel momento; porque no sois vosotros los que estáis hablando, sino el Espíritu Santo.

12 A nd brother will hand over brother to death, and the father his child; and children will take a stand against their parents and them put to death.

Y entregará a la muerte hermano a hermano, y padre a hijo; se levantarán hijos contra padres, y los matarán.

13 A nd you will be hated and detested by everybody for My name’s sake, but he who patiently perseveres and endures to the end will be saved ( made a partaker of the salvation by Christ, and delivered from spiritual death).

Seréis aborrecidos de todos por causa de mi nombre; pero el que persevere hasta el final, ése será salvo.

14 B ut when you see the abomination of desolation mentioned by Daniel the prophet standing where it ought not to be— let the one who reads take notice and consider and understand and heed —then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.

Pero cuando veáis la abominación de la desolación de que habló el profeta Daniel erigida donde no debe (el que esté leyendo, que lo entienda), entonces los que estén en Judea, huyan a los montes;

15 L et him who is on the housetop not go down into the house nor go inside to take anything out of his house;

el que esté en la azotea, no baje ni entre a llevarse algo de su casa;

16 A nd let him who is in the field not turn back again to get his mantle (cloak).

y el que haya marchado al campo, no se vuelva atrás para tomar su manto.

17 A nd alas for those who are pregnant and for those who have nursing babies in those days!

¡Ay de las que estén encintas y de las que estén amamantando en aquellos días!

18 P ray that it may not occur in winter,

Orad para que no suceda en invierno.

19 F or at that time there will be such affliction (oppression and tribulation) as has not been from the beginning of the creation which God created until this particular time—and positively never will be.

Porque aquellos días serán una tribulación, tal como no la hubo desde el principio de la creación que Dios hizo hasta ahora, ni la habrá jamás.

20 A nd unless the Lord had shortened the days, no human being would be saved (rescued); but for the sake of the elect, His chosen ones (those whom He picked out for Himself), He has shortened the days.

Y si el Señor no hubiese acortado aquellos días, no se salvaría ninguna vida, pero en atención a los escogidos que él eligió, acortó los días.

21 A nd then if anyone says to you, See, here is the Christ (the Messiah)! or, Look, there He is! do not believe it.

Entonces, si alguien os dice: Mira, aquí está el Cristo; o: Mira, allí está, no lo creáis.

22 F alse Christs (Messiahs) and false prophets will arise and show signs and miracles to deceive and lead astray, if possible, even the elect (those God has chosen out for Himself).

Porque surgirán falsos cristos y falsos profetas y harán señales y prodigios a fin de extraviar, de ser posible, a los elegidos.

23 B ut look to yourselves and be on your guard; I have told you everything beforehand.

Vosotros, pues, estad sobre aviso; os lo he dicho todo por anticipado. La venida del Hijo del Hombre

24 B ut in those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light;

Pero en esos días, después de aquella tribulación, el sol se oscurecerá y la luna no dará su resplandor;

25 A nd the stars will be falling from the sky, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken.

las estrellas estarán cayendo del cielo, y los poderes que hay en los cielos serán sacudidos.

26 A nd then they will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great (kingly) power and glory (majesty and splendor).

Y entonces verán al Hijo del Hombre que viene en las nubes con gran poder y gloria.

27 A nd then He will send out the angels and will gather together His elect (those He has picked out for Himself) from the four winds, from the farthest bounds of the earth to the farthest bounds of heaven.

Entonces enviará a los ángeles, y reunirá de los cuatro vientos a sus elegidos, desde el extremo de la tierra hasta el extremo del cielo.

28 N ow learn a lesson from the fig tree: as soon as its branch becomes tender and it puts forth its leaves, you recognize and know that summer is near.

De la higuera aprended la parábola: Cuando ya su rama se vuelve tierna y brotan las hojas, conocéis que el verano está cerca.

29 S o also, when you see these things happening, you may recognize and know that He is near, at door.

Así también vosotros, cuando veáis que suceden estas cosas, conoced que está cerca, a las puertas.

30 S urely I say to you, this generation ( the whole multitude of people living at that one time) positively will not perish or pass away before all these things take place.

En verdad os digo que de ningún modo pasará esta generación hasta que todas estas cosas sucedan.

31 H eaven and earth will perish and pass away, but My words will not perish or pass away.

El cielo y la tierra pasarán, pero mis palabras no pasarán.

32 B ut of that day or that hour not a person knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.

Pero de aquel día o de aquella hora, nadie sabe, ni los ángeles en el cielo, ni el Hijo, sino sólo el Padre.

33 B e on your guard, and watch and pray; for you do not know when the time will come.

Estad atentos, velad y orad; porque no sabéis cuándo es el tiempo señalado.

34 I t is like a man '> already] going on a journey; when he leaves home, he puts his servants in charge, each with his particular task, and he gives orders to the doorkeeper to be constantly alert and on the watch.

Es como un hombre que se fue de viaje y, al dejar su casa, dio atribuciones a sus siervos, a cada uno su tarea, y encargó al portero que velara.

35 T herefore watch (give strict attention, be cautious and alert), for you do not know when the Master of the house is coming—in the evening, or at midnight, or at cockcrowing, or in the morning—

Por tanto, velad; porque no sabéis cuándo viene el dueño de la casa, si al atardecer, a la medianoche, al canto del gallo, o de madrugada;

36 l est He come suddenly and unexpectedly and find you asleep.

no sea que venga de repente y os encuentre durmiendo.

37 A nd what I say to you I say to everybody: Watch (give strict attention, be cautious, active, and alert)!

Lo que os digo a vosotros, lo digo a todos: Velad.
