1 A nd as was coming out of the temple '> area], one of His disciples said to Him, Look, Teacher! Notice the sort and quality of these stones and buildings!

Lorsque Jésus sortit du temple, un de ses disciples lui dit: Maître, regarde quelles pierres, et quelles constructions!

2 A nd Jesus replied to him, You see these great buildings? There will not be left here one stone upon another that will not be loosened and torn down.

Jésus lui répondit: Vois-tu ces grandes constructions? Il ne restera pas pierre sur pierre qui ne soit renversée.

3 A nd as He sat on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple '> enclosure], Peter and James and John and Andrew asked Him privately,

Il s'assit sur la montagne des oliviers, en face du temple. Et Pierre, Jacques, Jean et André lui firent en particulier cette question:

4 T ell us when is this to take place and what will be the sign when these things, all, are about to be accomplished?

Dis-nous, quand cela arrivera-t-il, et à quel signe connaîtra-t-on que toutes ces choses vont s'accomplir?

5 A nd Jesus began to tell them, Be careful and watchful that no one misleads you.

Jésus se mit alors à leur dire: Prenez garde que personne ne vous séduise.

6 M any will come in '> appropriating to themselves] the name which belongs to Me '> basing their claims on the use of My name], saying, I am! And they will mislead many.

Car plusieurs viendront sous mon nom, disant; C'est moi. Et ils séduiront beaucoup de gens.

7 A nd when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not get alarmed (troubled and frightened); it is necessary take place, but the end is not yet.

Quand vous entendrez parler de guerres et de bruits de guerres, ne soyez pas troublés, car il faut que ces choses arrivent. Mais ce ne sera pas encore la fin.

8 F or nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places; there will be famines and calamities. This is but the beginning of the intolerable anguish and suffering '> birth pangs].

Une nation s'élèvera contre une nation, et un royaume contre un royaume; il y aura des tremblements de terre en divers lieux, il y aura des famines. Ce ne sera que le commencement des douleurs.

9 B ut look to yourselves; for they will turn you over to councils, and you will be beaten in the synagogues, and you will stand before governors and kings for My sake as a testimony to them.

Prenez garde à vous-mêmes. On vous livrera aux tribunaux, et vous serez battus de verges dans les synagogues; vous comparaîtrez devant des gouverneurs et devant des rois, à cause de moi, pour leur servir de témoignage.

10 A nd the good news (the Gospel) must first be preached to all nations.

Il faut premièrement que la bonne nouvelle soit prêchée à toutes les nations.

11 N ow when they take you and put you under arrest, do not be anxious beforehand about what you are to say nor meditate about it; but say whatever is given you in that hour and at the moment, for it is not you who will be speaking, but the Holy Spirit.

Quand on vous emmènera pour vous livrer, ne vous inquiétez pas d'avance de ce que vous aurez à dire, mais dites ce qui vous sera donné à l'heure même; car ce n'est pas vous qui parlerez, mais l'Esprit Saint.

12 A nd brother will hand over brother to death, and the father his child; and children will take a stand against their parents and them put to death.

Le frère livrera son frère à la mort, et le père son enfant; les enfants se soulèveront contre leurs parents, et les feront mourir.

13 A nd you will be hated and detested by everybody for My name’s sake, but he who patiently perseveres and endures to the end will be saved ( made a partaker of the salvation by Christ, and delivered from spiritual death).

Vous serez haïs de tous, à cause de mon nom, mais celui qui persévérera jusqu'à la fin sera sauvé.

14 B ut when you see the abomination of desolation mentioned by Daniel the prophet standing where it ought not to be— let the one who reads take notice and consider and understand and heed —then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.

Lorsque vous verrez l'abomination de la désolation établie là où elle ne doit pas être, -que celui qui lit fasse attention, -alors, que ceux qui seront en Judée fuient dans les montagnes;

15 L et him who is on the housetop not go down into the house nor go inside to take anything out of his house;

que celui qui sera sur le toit ne descende pas et n'entre pas pour prendre quelque chose dans sa maison;

16 A nd let him who is in the field not turn back again to get his mantle (cloak).

et que celui qui sera dans les champs ne retourne pas en arrière pour prendre son manteau.

17 A nd alas for those who are pregnant and for those who have nursing babies in those days!

Malheur aux femmes qui seront enceintes et à celles qui allaiteront en ces jours-là!

18 P ray that it may not occur in winter,

Priez pour que ces choses n'arrivent pas en hiver.

19 F or at that time there will be such affliction (oppression and tribulation) as has not been from the beginning of the creation which God created until this particular time—and positively never will be.

Car la détresse, en ces jours, sera telle qu'il n'y en a point eu de semblable depuis le commencement du monde que Dieu a créé jusqu'à présent, et qu'il n'y en aura jamais.

20 A nd unless the Lord had shortened the days, no human being would be saved (rescued); but for the sake of the elect, His chosen ones (those whom He picked out for Himself), He has shortened the days.

Et, si le Seigneur n'avait abrégé ces jours, personne ne serait sauvé; mais il les a abrégés, à cause des élus qu'il a choisis.

21 A nd then if anyone says to you, See, here is the Christ (the Messiah)! or, Look, there He is! do not believe it.

Si quelqu'un vous dit alors: "Le Christ est ici", ou: "Il est là", ne le croyez pas.

22 F alse Christs (Messiahs) and false prophets will arise and show signs and miracles to deceive and lead astray, if possible, even the elect (those God has chosen out for Himself).

Car il s'élèvera de faux Christs et de faux prophètes; ils feront des prodiges et des miracles pour séduire les élus, s'il était possible.

23 B ut look to yourselves and be on your guard; I have told you everything beforehand.

Soyez sur vos gardes: je vous ai tout annoncé d'avance.

24 B ut in those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light;

Mais dans ces jours, après cette détresse, le soleil s'obscurcira, la lune ne donnera plus sa lumière,

25 A nd the stars will be falling from the sky, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken.

les étoiles tomberont du ciel, et les puissances qui sont dans les cieux seront ébranlées.

26 A nd then they will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great (kingly) power and glory (majesty and splendor).

Alors on verra le Fils de l'homme venant sur les nuées avec une grande puissance et avec gloire.

27 A nd then He will send out the angels and will gather together His elect (those He has picked out for Himself) from the four winds, from the farthest bounds of the earth to the farthest bounds of heaven.

Alors il enverra les anges, et il rassemblera les élus des quatre vents, de l'extrémité de la terre jusqu'à l'extrémité du ciel.

28 N ow learn a lesson from the fig tree: as soon as its branch becomes tender and it puts forth its leaves, you recognize and know that summer is near.

Instruisez-vous par une comparaison tirée du figuier. Dès que ses branches deviennent tendres, et que les feuilles poussent, vous connaissez que l'été est proche.

29 S o also, when you see these things happening, you may recognize and know that He is near, at door.

De même, quand vous verrez ces choses arriver, sachez que le Fils de l'homme est proche, à la porte.

30 S urely I say to you, this generation ( the whole multitude of people living at that one time) positively will not perish or pass away before all these things take place.

Je vous le dis en vérité, cette génération ne passera point, que tout cela n'arrive.

31 H eaven and earth will perish and pass away, but My words will not perish or pass away.

Le ciel et la terre passeront, mais mes paroles ne passeront point.

32 B ut of that day or that hour not a person knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.

Pour ce qui est du jour ou de l'heure, personne ne le sait, ni les anges dans le ciel, ni le Fils, mais le Père seul.

33 B e on your guard, and watch and pray; for you do not know when the time will come.

Prenez garde, veillez et priez; car vous ne savez quand ce temps viendra.

34 I t is like a man '> already] going on a journey; when he leaves home, he puts his servants in charge, each with his particular task, and he gives orders to the doorkeeper to be constantly alert and on the watch.

Il en sera comme d'un homme qui, partant pour un voyage, laisse sa maison, remet l'autorité à ses serviteurs, indique à chacun sa tâche, et ordonne au portier de veiller.

35 T herefore watch (give strict attention, be cautious and alert), for you do not know when the Master of the house is coming—in the evening, or at midnight, or at cockcrowing, or in the morning—

Veillez donc, car vous ne savez quand viendra le maître de la maison, ou le soir, ou au milieu de la nuit, ou au chant du coq, ou le matin;

36 l est He come suddenly and unexpectedly and find you asleep.

craignez qu'il ne vous trouve endormis, à son arrivée soudaine.

37 A nd what I say to you I say to everybody: Watch (give strict attention, be cautious, active, and alert)!

Ce que je vous dis, je le dis à tous: Veillez.
