1 a bout the Word of Life '> in] Him Who existed from the beginning, Whom we have heard, Whom we have seen with our eyes, Whom we have gazed upon and have touched with our hands.

Ce qui était dès le commencement, ce que nous avons entendu, ce que nous avons vu de nos yeux, ce que nous avons contemplé et que nos mains ont touché, concernant la parole de vie, -

2 A nd the Life '> an aspect of His being] was revealed (made manifest, demonstrated), and we saw and are testifying to and declare to you the Life, the eternal Life '> in Him] Who already existed with the Father and Who was made visible (was revealed) to us.

car la vie a été manifestée, et nous l'avons vue et nous lui rendons témoignage, et nous vous annonçons la vie éternelle, qui était auprès du Père et qui nous a été manifestée, -

3 W hat we have seen and heard, we are also telling you, so that you too may realize and enjoy fellowship as partners and partakers with us. And fellowship that we have '> distinguishing mark of Christians] is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ (the Messiah).

ce que nous avons vu et entendu, nous vous l'annonçons, à vous aussi, afin que vous aussi vous soyez en communion avec nous. Or, notre communion est avec le Père et avec son Fils Jésus Christ.

4 A nd we are now writing these things to you so that our joy may be full '> your joy may be complete].

Et nous écrivons ces choses, afin que notre joie soit parfaite.

5 A nd this is the message '> promise] which we have heard from Him and now are reporting to you: God is Light, and there is no darkness in Him at all '> no, not in any way].

La nouvelle que nous avons apprise de lui, et que nous vous annonçons, c'est que Dieu est lumière, et qu'il n'y a point en lui de ténèbres.

6 i f we say we are partakers together and enjoy fellowship with Him when we live and move and are walking about in darkness, we are speaking falsely and do not live and practice the Truth.

Si nous disons que nous sommes en communion avec lui, et que nous marchions dans les ténèbres, nous mentons, et nous ne pratiquons pas la vérité.

7 B ut if we are living and walking in the Light, as He is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses (removes) us from all sin and guilt.

Mais si nous marchons dans la lumière, comme il est lui-même dans la lumière, nous sommes mutuellement en communion, et le sang de Jésus son Fils nous purifie de tout péché.

8 I f we say we have no sin, we delude and lead ourselves astray, and the Truth is not in us.

Si nous disons que nous n'avons pas de péché, nous nous séduisons nous-mêmes, et la vérité n'est point en nous.

9 I f we admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just (true to His own nature and promises) and will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Si nous confessons nos péchés, il est fidèle et juste pour nous les pardonner, et pour nous purifier de toute iniquité.

10 I f we say (claim) we have not sinned, we contradict His Word and make Him out to be false and a liar, and His Word is not in us.

Si nous disons que nous n'avons pas péché, nous le faisons menteur, et sa parole n'est point en nous.
