1 M ake haste, O God, to deliver me; make haste to help me, O Lord!

(70: 1) Au chef des chantres. De David. Pour souvenir. (70: 2) O Dieu, hâte-toi de me délivrer! Éternel, hâte-toi de me secourir!

2 L et them be put to shame and confounded that seek and demand my life; let them be turned backward and brought to confusion and dishonor who desire and delight in my hurt.

(70: 3) Qu'ils soient honteux et confus, ceux qui en veulent à ma vie! Qu'ils reculent et rougissent, ceux qui désirent ma perte!

3 L et them be turned back and appalled because of their shame and disgrace who say, Aha, aha!

(70: 4) Qu'ils retournent en arrière par l'effet de leur honte, Ceux qui disent: Ah! ah!

4 M ay all those who seek, inquire of and for You, and require You rejoice and be glad in You; and may those who love Your salvation say continually, Let God be magnified!

(70: 5) Que tous ceux qui te cherchent Soient dans l'allégresse et se réjouissent en toi! Que ceux qui aiment ton salut Disent sans cesse: Exalté soit Dieu!

5 B ut I am poor and needy; hasten to me, O God! You are my Help and my Deliverer; O Lord, do not tarry!

(70: 6) Moi, je suis pauvre et indigent: O Dieu, hâte-toi en ma faveur! Tu es mon aide et mon libérateur: Éternel, ne tarde pas!
