1 A nd Jesus, getting into a boat, crossed to the other side and came to His own town.

Y entrando Jesús en la barca, pasó al otro lado y vino a su ciudad.

2 A nd behold, they brought to Him a man paralyzed and prostrated by illness, lying on a sleeping pad; and when Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralyzed man, Take courage, son; your sins are forgiven and the penalty remitted.

Y sucedió que le traían un paralítico, tendido sobre una camilla; y al ver Jesús la fe de ellos, dijo al paralítico: Ten ánimo, hijo; tus pecados te son perdonados.

3 A nd behold, some of the scribes said to themselves, This man blasphemes!

Entonces algunos de los escribas decían dentro de sí: Éste blasfema.

4 B ut Jesus, knowing ( seeing) their thoughts, said, Why do you think evil and harbor malice in your hearts?

Y conociendo Jesús los pensamientos de ellos, dijo: ¿Por qué estáis cavilando maldades en vuestros corazones?

5 F or which is easier: to say, Your sins are forgiven and the penalty remitted, or to say, Get up and walk?

Porque, ¿qué es más fácil, decir: Los pecados te son perdonados, o decir: Levántate y anda?

6 B ut in order that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins and remit the penalty, He then said to the paralyzed man, Get up! Pick up your sleeping pad and go to your own house.

Pues para que sepáis que el Hijo del Hombre tiene potestad en la tierra para perdonar pecados (dice entonces al paralítico): Levántate, toma tu camilla, y vete a tu casa.

7 A nd he got up and went away to his own house.

Entonces él se levantó y se fue a su casa.

8 W hen the crowds saw it, they were struck with fear and awe; and they recognized God and praised and thanked Him, Who had given such power and authority to men.

Y las gentes, al verlo, se llenaron de asombro y glorificaron a Dios, que había dado tal potestad a los hombres. Llamamiento de Mateo

9 A s Jesus passed on from there, He saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax collector’s office; and He said to him, Be My disciple. And he rose and followed Him.

Pasando Jesús de allí, vio a un hombre llamado Mateo, que estaba sentado en la oficina de los tributos públicos, y le dijo: Sígueme. Y se levantó y le siguió.

10 A nd as Jesus reclined at table in the house, behold, many tax collectors and sinners came and sat (reclined) with Him and His disciples.

Y aconteció que estando él sentado a la mesa en la casa, he aquí que muchos publicanos y pecadores, que habían venido, se sentaron a la mesa con Jesús y sus discípulos.

11 A nd when the Pharisees saw this, they said to His disciples, Why does your Master eat with tax collectors and those sinful?

Cuando vieron esto los fariseos, dijeron a los discípulos: ¿Por qué come vuestro Maestro con los publicanos y pecadores?

12 B ut when Jesus heard it, He replied, Those who are strong and well (healthy) have no need of a physician, but those who are weak and sick.

Al oír esto Jesús, les dijo: Los sanos no tienen necesidad de médico, sino los enfermos.

13 G o and learn what this means: I desire mercy '> readiness to help those in trouble] and not sacrifice and sacrificial victims. For I came not to call and invite the righteous (those who are upright and in right standing with God), but sinners (the erring ones and all those not free from sin).

Id, pues, y aprended lo que significa: Misericordia quiero, y no sacrificio. Porque no he venido a llamar a justos, sino a pecadores al arrepentimiento. La pregunta sobre el ayuno

14 T hen the disciples of John came to Jesus, inquiring, Why is it that we and the Pharisees fast often,, but Your disciples do not fast?

Entonces se le acercaron los discípulos de Juan, diciendo: ¿Por qué nosotros y los fariseos ayunamos muchas veces, y tus discípulos no ayunan?

15 A nd Jesus replied to them, Can the wedding guests mourn while the bridegroom is still with them? The days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast.

Jesús les dijo: ¿Acaso pueden los que están de bodas tener luto entretanto que el novio está con ellos? Pero vendrán días cuando el novio les será quitado, y entonces ayunarán.

16 A nd no one puts a piece of cloth that has not been shrunk on an old garment, for such a patch tears away from the garment and a worse rent (tear) is made.

Nadie pone remiendo de paño nuevo en vestido viejo; porque tal remiendo tira del vestido, y el desgarrón se hace mayor.

17 N either is new wine put in old wineskins; for if it is, the skins burst and are torn in pieces, and the wine is spilled and the skins are ruined. But new wine is put into fresh wineskins, and so both are preserved.

Ni echan vino nuevo en odres viejos; de otra manera, los odres se rompen, y el vino se derrama, y los odres se estropean; sino que echan el vino nuevo en odres nuevos, y así ambos se conservan juntamente. La hija de Jairo, y la mujer que tocó el manto del Señor Jesús

18 W hile He was talking this way to them, behold, a ruler entered and, kneeling down, worshiped Him, saying, My daughter has just now died; but come and lay Your hand on her, and she will come to life.

Mientras él les hablaba estas cosas, se le acercó un dirigente de la sinagoga y se postró ante él, diciendo: Mi hija acaba de morir; mas ven y pon tu mano sobre ella, y vivirá.

19 A nd Jesus got up and accompanied him, with His disciples.

Y se levantó Jesús, y le siguió con sus discípulos.

20 A nd behold, a woman who had suffered from a flow of blood for twelve years came up behind Him and touched the fringe of His garment;

En esto, una mujer enferma de flujo de sangre desde hacía doce años, se le acercó por detrás y tocó el borde de su manto;

21 F or she kept saying to herself, If I only touch His garment, I shall be restored to health.

porque decía dentro de sí: Si tan sólo toco su manto, quedaré sana.

22 J esus turned around and, seeing her, He said, Take courage, daughter! Your faith has made you well. And at once the woman was restored to health.

Pero Jesús, volviéndose y mirándola, dijo: Ten ánimo, hija; tu fe te ha salvado. Y la mujer quedó curada desde aquella hora.

23 A nd when Jesus came to the ruler’s house and saw the flute players and the crowd making an uproar and din,

Al entrar Jesús en la casa del dirigente, viendo a los que tocaban flautas, y la gente que hacía alboroto,

24 H e said, Go away; for the girl is not dead but sleeping. And they laughed and jeered at Him.

les dijo: Retiraos, porque la niña no está muerta, sino que duerme. Y se burlaban de él.

25 B ut when the crowd had been ordered to go outside, He went in and took her by the hand, and the girl arose.

Pero cuando la gente había sido echada fuera, entró, y tomó de la mano a la niña, y ella se levantó.

26 A nd the news about this spread through all that district.

Y se difundió esta noticia por toda aquella tierra. Dos ciegos obtienen la vista

27 A s Jesus passed on from there, two blind men followed Him, shouting loudly, Have pity and mercy on us, Son of David!

Pasando Jesús de allí, le siguieron dos ciegos, diciéndole a gritos: ¡Ten compasión de nosotros, Hijo de David!

28 W hen He reached the house and went in, the blind men came to Him, and Jesus said to them, Do you believe that I am able to do this? They said to Him, Yes, Lord.

Y llegado a la casa, se le acercaron los ciegos; y Jesús les dijo: ¿Creéis que puedo hacer esto? Ellos dijeron: Sí, Señor.

29 T hen He touched their eyes, saying, According to your faith and trust and reliance be it done to you;

Entonces les tocó los ojos, diciendo: Conforme a vuestra fe os sea hecho.

30 A nd their eyes were opened. And Jesus earnestly and sternly charged them, See that you let no one know about this.

Y los ojos de ellos fueron abiertos. Y Jesús les encargó rigurosamente, diciendo: Mirad que nadie lo sepa.

31 B ut they went off and blazed and spread His fame abroad throughout that whole district.

Pero ellos, apenas salieron, divulgaron la fama de él por toda aquella tierra. Un mudo habla

32 A nd while they were going away, behold, a dumb man under the power of a demon was brought to Jesus.

Mientras salían ellos, le trajeron un mudo, endemoniado.

33 A nd when the demon was driven out, the dumb man spoke; and the crowds were stunned with bewildered wonder, saying, Never before has anything like this been seen in Israel.

Y una vez echado fuera el demonio, el mudo habló; y las gentes se maravillaron, y decían: Nunca se ha visto cosa semejante en Israel.

34 B ut the Pharisees said, He drives out demons through and with the help of the prince of demons.

Pero los fariseos decían: Por el príncipe de los demonios echa fuera los demonios. La mies es mucha

35 A nd Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the good news (the Gospel) of the kingdom and curing all kinds of disease and every weakness and infirmity.

Recorría Jesús todas las ciudades y aldeas, enseñando en las sinagogas de ellos, y predicando el evangelio del reino, y sanando toda enfermedad y toda dolencia en el pueblo.

36 W hen He saw the throngs, He was moved with pity and sympathy for them, because they were bewildered (harassed and distressed and dejected and helpless), like sheep without a shepherd.

Y al ver las multitudes, se compadeció de ellas; porque estaban extenuadas y abatidas como ovejas que no tienen pastor.

37 T hen He said to His disciples, The harvest is indeed plentiful, but the laborers are few.

Entonces dijo a sus discípulos: A la verdad la mies es mucha, mas los obreros pocos.

38 S o pray to the Lord of the harvest to force out and thrust laborers into His harvest.

Rogad, pues, al Señor de la mies, que envíe obreros a su mies.
