1 A nd the word of the Lord came to me, saying,

Y vino a mí la palabra del Señor, diciendo:

2 S on of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel; prophesy and say to them, even to the shepherds, Thus says the Lord God: Woe to the shepherds of Israel who feed themselves! Should not the shepherds feed the sheep?

Hijo de hombre, profetiza contra los pastores de Israel; profetiza y di a los pastores: “Así dice el Señor Dios: ‘¡Ay de los pastores de Israel que se apacientan a sí mismos! ¿No deben los pastores apacentar el rebaño ?

3 Y ou eat the fat, you clothe yourselves with the wool, you kill the fatlings, but you do not feed the sheep.

‘Coméis la grosura, os habéis vestido con la lana, degolláis la oveja engordada, pero no apacentáis el rebaño.

4 T he diseased and weak you have not strengthened, the sick you have not healed, the hurt and crippled you have not bandaged, those gone astray you have not brought back, the lost you have not sought to find, but with force and hardhearted harshness you have ruled them.

‘Las débiles no habéis fortalecido, la enferma no habéis curado, la perniquebrada no habéis vendado, la descarriada no habéis hecho volver, la perdida no habéis buscado; sino que las habéis dominado con dureza y con severidad.

5 A nd they were scattered because there was no shepherd, and when they were scattered they became food for all the wild beasts of the field.

‘Y han sido dispersadas por falta de pastor, y se han convertido en alimento para toda fiera del campo; se han dispersado.

6 M y sheep wandered through all the mountains and upon every high hill; yes, My sheep were scattered upon all the face of the earth and no one searched or sought for them.

‘Mis ovejas andaban errantes por todos los montes y por todo collado alto; mis ovejas han sido dispersadas por toda la faz de la tierra, sin haber quien las busque ni pregunte por ellas.’”

7 T herefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the Lord:

Por tanto, pastores, oíd la palabra del Señor:

8 A s I live, says the Lord God, surely because My sheep became a prey, and My sheep became food for every beast of the field because there was no shepherd—neither did My shepherds search for My sheep, but the shepherds fed themselves and fed not My sheep—

Vivo yo —declara el Señor Dios —, ya que mi rebaño se ha convertido en presa, que incluso mi rebaño se ha convertido en alimento para todas las fieras del campo por falta de pastor, y que mis pastores no han buscado mis ovejas, sino que los pastores se han apacentado a sí mismos y no han apacentado mi rebaño,

9 T herefore, O you shepherds, hear the word of the Lord:

por tanto, pastores, oíd la palabra del Señor:

10 T hus says the Lord God: Behold, I am against the shepherds, and I will require My sheep at their hand and cause them to cease feeding the sheep, neither shall the shepherds feed themselves any more. I will rescue My sheep from their mouths, that they may not be food for them.

“Así dice el Señor Dios: ‘He aquí, yo estoy contra los pastores y demandaré mi rebaño de su mano y los haré dejar de apacentar el rebaño. Así los pastores ya no se apacentarán más a sí mismos, sino que yo libraré mis ovejas de su boca, y no serán más alimento para ellos.’”

11 F or thus says the Lord God: Behold, I, I Myself, will search for My sheep and will seek them out.

Porque así dice el Señor Dios: He aquí, yo mismo buscaré mis ovejas y velaré por ellas.

12 A s a shepherd seeks out his sheep in the day that he is among his flock that are scattered, so will I seek out My sheep; and I will rescue them out of all places where they have been scattered in the day of clouds and thick darkness.

Como un pastor vela por su rebaño el día que está en medio de sus ovejas dispersas, así yo velaré por mis ovejas y las libraré de todos los lugares adonde fueron dispersadas un día nublado y sombrío.

13 A nd I will bring them out from the peoples and gather them from the countries and will bring them to their own land; and I will feed them upon the mountains of Israel, by the watercourses, and in all the inhabited places of the country.

Las sacaré de los pueblos y las juntaré de las tierras; las traeré a su propia tierra, y las apacentaré en los montes de Israel, por las barrancas y por todos los lugares habitados del país.

14 I will feed them with good pasture, and upon the high mountains of Israel shall their fold be; there shall they lie down in a good fold, and in a fat pasture shall they feed upon the mountains of Israel.

Las apacentaré en buenos pastos, y en los altos montes de Israel estará su apacentadero. Allí reposarán en apacentadero bueno, y apacentarán en ricos pastos sobre los montes de Israel.

15 I will feed My sheep and I will cause them to lie down, says the Lord God.

Yo apacentaré mis ovejas y las llevaré a reposar —declara el Señor Dios.

16 I will seek that which was lost and bring back that which has strayed, and I will bandage the hurt and the crippled and will strengthen the weak and the sick, but I will destroy the fat and the strong; I will feed them with judgment and punishment.

Buscaré la perdida, haré volver la descarriada, vendaré la perniquebrada y fortaleceré la enferma; pero destruiré la engordada y la fuerte. Las apacentaré con justicia.

17 A nd as for you, O My flock, thus says the Lord God: Behold, I judge between sheep and sheep, between the rams and the great he-goats.

Mas en cuanto a vosotras, ovejas mías, así dice el Señor Dios: “He aquí, yo juzgaré entre oveja y oveja, entre carneros y machos cabríos.

18 I s it too little for you that you feed on the best pasture, but you must tread down with your feet the rest of your pasture? And to have drunk of the waters clarified by subsiding, but you must foul the rest of the water with your feet?

“¿Os parece poco pacer en los buenos pastos, para que holléis con vuestros pies el resto de vuestros pastos; o que bebáis de las aguas claras, para que enturbiéis el resto con vuestros pies?

19 A nd My flock, must they feed on what your feet have trodden and drink what your feet have fouled?

“Y en cuanto a mis ovejas, tienen que comer lo que habéis hollado con vuestros pies, y tienen que beber lo que con vuestros pies habéis enturbiado.”

20 T herefore thus says the Lord God to them: Behold, I, I Myself, will judge between fat sheep and impoverished sheep, or fat goats and lean goats.

Por tanto, así les dice el Señor Dios: He aquí, yo mismo juzgaré entre la oveja engordada y la oveja flaca.

21 B ecause you push with side and with shoulder and thrust with your horns all those that have become weak and diseased, till you have scattered them abroad,

Por cuanto vosotros habéis empujado con el flanco y con el hombro, y habéis embestido con vuestros cuernos a todas las débiles hasta dispersarlas fuera,

22 T herefore will I rescue My flock, and they shall no more be a prey; and I will judge between sheep and sheep.

libraré mis ovejas y ya no serán presa; juzgaré entre oveja y oveja.

23 A nd I will raise up over them one Shepherd and He shall feed them, even My Servant David; He shall feed them and He shall be their Shepherd.

Entonces pondré sobre ellas un solo pastor que las apacentará, mi siervo David; él las apacentará y será su pastor.

24 A nd I the Lord will be their God and My Servant David a Prince among them; I the Lord have spoken it.

Y yo, el Señor, seré su Dios, y mi siervo David será príncipe en medio de ellas. Yo, el Señor, he hablado.

25 A nd I will confirm with them a covenant of peace and will cause the evil beasts to cease out of the land, and shall dwell safely in the wilderness, desert, or pastureland and sleep in the woods.

Haré un pacto de paz con ellos y eliminaré de la tierra las bestias feroces, para que habiten seguros en el desierto y duerman en los bosques.

26 A nd I will make them and the places round about My hill a blessing, and I will cause the showers to come down in their season; there shall be showers of blessing.

Y haré de ellos y de los alrededores de mi collado una bendición. Haré descender lluvias a su tiempo; serán lluvias de bendición.

27 A nd the tree of the field shall yield its fruit and the earth shall yield its increase; and shall be secure in their land, and they shall be confident and know (understand and realize) that I am the Lord, when I have broken the bars of their yoke and have delivered them out of the hand of those who made slaves of them.

El árbol del campo dará su fruto y la tierra dará sus productos, y ellos estarán seguros en su tierra. Y sabrán que yo soy el Señor cuando yo quiebre las varas de su yugo y los libre de la mano de los que los han esclavizado.

28 A nd they shall no more be a prey to the nations, nor shall the beasts of the earth devour them, but they shall dwell safely and none shall make them afraid '> day of the Messiah’s reign].

No serán más presa de las naciones, y las fieras de la tierra no los devorarán; sino que habitarán seguros y nadie los atemorizará.

29 A nd I will raise up for them a planting of crops for renown, and they shall be no more consumed with hunger in the land nor bear the reproach of the nations any longer.

Y estableceré para ellos un plantío de renombre, y no serán más víctimas del hambre en la tierra, ni sufrirán más los insultos de las naciones.

30 T hen shall they know that I, the Lord their God, am with them and that they, the house of Israel, are My people, says the Lord God,

Entonces sabrán que yo, el Señor su Dios, estoy con ellos, y que ellos, la casa de Israel, son mi pueblo —declara el Señor Dios.

31 A nd that you, My sheep, the sheep of My pasture, are men and I am your God, says the Lord God.

Vosotras, ovejas mías, sois el rebaño de mi prado, hombres sois, y yo soy vuestro Dios —declara el Señor Dios.
