8 A nd the Levites were Jeshua, Binnui, Kadmiel, Sherebiah, Judah, and Mattaniah, who, with his brethren, was over the thanksgiving.

E os levitas: Jesuá, Binuí, Cadmiel, Serebias, Judá, Matanias; este e seus irmãos dirigiam os louvores.

9 B akbukiah and Unni, their brethren, stood opposite them according to their offices.

10 A nd Jeshua was the father of Joiakim, Joiakim of Eliashib, Eliashib of Joiada,

22 A s for the Levites in the days of Eliashib, Joiada, Johanan, and Jaddua, the heads of fathers’ houses were recorded, as well as the priests, until the reign of Darius the Persian.

Nos dias de Eliasibe, Joiada, Joanã e Jadua foram inscritos, dos levitas, os chefes das casas paternas; e assim também os dos sacerdotes, no reinado de Dário, o persa.

23 T he sons of Levi, heads of fathers’ houses, were recorded in the Book of the Chronicles until the days of Johanan son of Eliashib.

Os filhos de Levi, chefes de casas paternas, foram inscritos no livro das crônicas, até os dias de Joanã, filho de Eliasibe.

24 A nd the chiefs of the Levites were Hashabiah, Sherebiah, and Jeshua son of Kadmiel, with their brethren opposite them, to praise and to give thanks, as David, God’s man, commanded, watch in response to watch.

Foram, pois, os chefes dos levitas: Hasabias, Serebias, Jesuá, filho de Cadmiel, e seus irmãos que ficavam defronte deles, turma contra turma, para louvarem e darem graças, segundo a ordem de Davi, homem de Deus.

25 M attaniah, Bakbukiah, Obadiah, Meshullam, Talmon, and Akkub were gatekeepers guarding at the storehouses of the gates.

Matanias, Baquebuquias, Obadias, Mesulão, Talmom, e Acube eram porteiros, e faziam a guarda junto aos celeiros das portas.

26 T hese were in the days of Joiakim son of Jeshua, the son of Jozadak, and in the days of Nehemiah the governor and of Ezra the priest and scribe.

Estes viveram nos dias de Joiaquim, filho de Jesuá, filho de Jozadaque, como também nos dias de Neemias, o governador, e do sacerdote Esdras, o escriba.

27 A nd for the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem, they sought the Levites in all their places to bring them to Jerusalem to celebrate the dedication with gladness, with thanksgivings, and with singing, cymbals, harps, and lyres.

Ora, na dedicação dos muros de Jerusalém buscaram os levitas de todos os lugares, para os trazerem a Jerusalém, a fim de celebrarem a dedicação com alegria e com ações de graças, e com canto, címbalos, alaúdes e harpas.

28 A nd the sons of the singers gathered together from the plain and circuit around Jerusalem and from the villages of the Netophathites,

Ajuntaram-se os filhos dos cantores, tanto da campina dos arredores de Jerusalém, como das aldeias do netofatitas;

29 A nd also from Beth-gilgal and the fields of Geba and Azmaveth, for the singers had built for themselves villages around Jerusalem.

como também de Bete-Gilgal, e dos campos de Geba e Azmavete; pois os cantores tinham edificado para si aldeias ao redor de Jerusalém.

30 A nd the priests and the Levites purified themselves, the people, the gates, and the wall.

E os sacerdotes e os levitas se purificaram, e purificaram o povo, as portas e o muro.

31 T hen I brought the princes of Judah up on the wall, and I appointed two great companies of them who gave thanks and went in procession. One went to the right upon the wall toward the Dung Gate.

Então fiz subir os príncipes de Judá sobre o muro, e constituí duas grandes companhias para darem graças e andarem em procissão, uma das quais foi para a direita sobre o muro, em direção ã porta do monturo;

32 A nd after them went Hoshaiah and half of the princes of Judah,

e após ela seguiam Hosaías, e a metade dos príncipes de Judá,

33 A nd Azariah, Ezra, Meshullam,

e Azarias, Esdras, Mesulão,

34 J udah, Benjamin, Shemaiah, and Jeremiah,

35 A nd certain of the priests’ sons with trumpets, and Zechariah son of Jonathan, the son of Shemaiah, the son of Mattaniah, the son of Micaiah, the son of Zaccur, the son of Asaph,

e dos filhos dos sacerdotes, levando trombetas, Zacarias, filho de Jonatã, filho de Semaías, filho de Matanias, filho de Micaías, filho de Zacur, filho de Asafe.

36 A nd his kinsmen—Shemaiah, Azarel, Milalai, Gilalai, Maai, Nethanel, Judah, Hanani—with the musical instruments of David, God’s man. And Ezra the scribe went before them.

e seus irmãos, Semaías, Azarel, Milalai, Gilalai, Maai, Netanel, Judá e Hanâni, com os instrumento musicais de Davi, homem de Deus; e Esdras, o escriba, ia adiante deles.

37 A t the Fountain Gate they went up straight ahead by the stairs of the City of David at the wall’s ascent above David’s house to the Water Gate on the east.

À entrada da porta da fonte subiram diretamente as escadas da cidade de Davi onde começa a subida do muro, acima da casa de Davi, até a porta das águas a leste.

38 T he other company of those who gave thanks went to the left; I followed with half of the people upon the wall, above the Tower of the Furnaces to the Broad Wall,

A outra companhia dos que davam graças foi para a esquerda, seguindo-os eu com a metade do povo, sobre o muro, passando pela torre dos fornos até a muralha larga,

39 A nd above the Gate of Ephraim, and by the Old Gate and by the Fish Gate and by the Tower of Hananel and the Tower of Hammeah, even to the Sheep Gate; and they stopped at the Gate of the Guard.

e seguindo por cima da porta de Efraim, e da porta velha, e da porta dos peixes, e pela torre de Hananel, e a torre dos Cem até a porta das ovelhas; e pararam ã porta da guarda.

40 S o the two companies of those who gave thanks stood in the house of God, and I, and the half of the officials with me;

Assim as duas companhias dos que davam graças pararam na casa de Deus, como também eu e a metade dos magistrados que estavam comigo,

41 A nd the priests Eliakim, Maaseiah, Miniamin, Micaiah, Elioenai, Zechariah, and Hananiah, with trumpets;

e os sacerdotes Eliaquim, Maaséias, Miniamim, Micaías, Elioenai, Zacarias e Hananias, com trombetas,

42 A nd Maaseiah, Shemaiah, Eleazar, Uzzi, Jehohanan, Malchijah, Elam, and Ezer. And the singers sang and made themselves heard, with Jezrahiah as leader.

com também Maaséias, Semaías, Eleazar, Uzi, Jeoanã, Malquias, Elão, e Ézer; e os cantores cantavam, tendo Jezraías por dirigente.

43 A lso that day they offered great sacrifices and rejoiced, for God had made them rejoice with great joy; the women also and the children rejoiced. The joy of Jerusalem was heard even afar off.

Naquele dia ofereceram grandes sacrifícios, e se alegraram, pois Deus lhes dera motivo de grande alegria; também as mulheres e as crianças se alegraram, de modo que o júbilo de Jerusalém se fez ouvir longe.

44 O n that day men were appointed over the chambers for the stores, the contributions, the firstfruits, and the tithes, to gather into them the portions required by law for the priests and the Levites according to the fields of the towns, for Judah rejoiced over the priests and Levites who served.

No mesmo dia foram nomeados homens sobre as câmaras do tesouro para as ofertas alçadas, as primícias e os dízimos, para nelas recolherem, dos campos, das cidades, os quinhões designados pela lei para os sacerdotes e para os levitas; pois Judá se alegrava por estarem os sacerdotes e os levitas no seu posto,

45 A nd they performed the due service of their God and of the purification; so did the singers and gatekeepers, as David and his son Solomon had commanded.

observando os preceitos do seu Deus, e os da purificação, como também o fizeram os cantores e porteiros, conforme a ordem de Davi e de seu filho Salomão.

46 F or in the days of David and Asaph of old, there was a chief of singers and songs of praise and thanksgiving to God.

Pois desde a antigüidade, já nos dias de Davi e de Asafe, havia um chefe dos cantores, e havia cânticos de louvor e de ação de graça a Deus.

47 A nd all Israel in the days of Zerubbabel and of Nehemiah gave the daily portions for the singers and the gatekeepers; and they set apart what was for the Levites, and the Levites set apart what was for the sons of Aaron.

Pelo que todo o Israel, nos dias de Zorobabel e nos dias de Neemias, dava aos cantores e aos porteiros as suas porções destinadas aos levitas, e os levitas separavam as porções destinadas aos filhos de Arão.
