1 F or God alone my soul waits in silence; from Him comes my salvation.

3 H ow long will you set upon a man that you may slay him, all of you, like a leaning wall, like a tottering fence?

Сколько вы будете еще нападать на человека, крушить его все вместе, словно наклонившуюся стену, шатающуюся ограду?

4 T hey only consult to cast him down from his height; they delight in lies. They bless with their mouths, but they curse inwardly. Selah!

Думают лишь о том, как свергнуть его с почетного места, и радуются лжи. Устами благословляют, а в сердце своем проклинают. Пауза

5 M y soul, wait only upon God and silently submit to Him; for my hope and expectation are from Him.

Только в Боге покойся, моя душа; на Него надежда моя.

6 H e only is my Rock and my Salvation; He is my Defense and my Fortress, I shall not be moved.

Только Он мне скала и спасение, Он − крепость моя; я не буду поколеблен.

7 W ith God rests my salvation and my glory; He is my Rock of unyielding strength and impenetrable hardness, and my refuge is in God!

В Боге спасение и слава моя; Он крепкая скала моя и мое прибежище.

8 T rust in, lean on, rely on, and have confidence in Him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts before Him. God is a refuge for us (a fortress and a high tower). Selah!

Надейся на Него, народ, во всякое время, сердце свое пред Ним изливай; ведь Бог – наше прибежище. Пауза

9 M en of low degree are emptiness (futility, a breath) and men of high degree are a lie and a delusion. In the balances they go up; they are together lighter than a breath.

Смертные – лишь суета, люди – лишь ложь; на весы положи – они ничто; все вместе – легче дыхания.

10 T rust not in and rely confidently not on extortion and oppression, and do not vainly hope in robbery; if riches increase, set not your heart on them.

Не надейтесь на грабеж, краденным не кичитесь. Пусть богатство растет – сердца к нему не прилагайте.

11 G od has spoken once, twice have I heard this: that power belongs to God.

Один раз сказал Бог, дважды я слышал это: у Бога сила,

12 A lso to You, O Lord, belong mercy and loving-kindness, for You render to every man according to his work.

у Тебя, Владыка, милость. Ведь Ты каждому воздаешь по делам его.
