1 W hen Jesus had ended this discourse, He said to His disciples,

2 Y ou know that the Passover is in two days—and the Son of Man will be delivered up treacherously to be crucified.

3 T hen the chief priests and the elders of the people gathered in the '> open] court of the palace of the high priest, whose name was Caiaphas,

А во дворце первосвященника Кайафы в это время собрались первосвященники и старейшины народа.

4 A nd consulted together in order to arrest Jesus by stratagem secretly and put Him to death.

Они решили хитростью схватить Иисуса и убить.

5 B ut they said, It must not be during the Feast, for fear that there will be a riot among the people.

– Только не во время Пасхи, – говорили они, – иначе народ может взбунтоваться. Женщина помазывает Иисуса драгоценным благовонием (Мк. 14: 3-9; Лк. 7: 37-38)

6 N ow when Jesus came back to Bethany and was in the house of Simon the leper,

Иисус находился в Вифании, в доме Симона прокаженного.

7 A woman came up to Him with an alabaster flask of very precious perfume, and she poured it on His head as He reclined at table.

И когда Он возлежал за столом, к Нему подошла женщина с алебастровым кувшином, в котором было очень дорогое ароматическое масло, и возлила это масло Ему на голову.

8 A nd when the disciples saw it, they were indignant, saying, For what purpose is all this waste?

Увидев это, ученики рассердились: – Зачем такая трата?

9 F or this perfume might have been sold for a large sum and the money given to the poor.

Ведь это ароматическое масло можно было продать за большую сумму, а деньги раздать нищим.

10 B ut Jesus, fully aware of this, said to them, Why do you bother the woman? She has done a noble (praiseworthy and beautiful) thing to Me.

Но Иисус, зная, что они говорят, сказал им: – Что вы упрекаете женщину? Ведь она сделала для Меня доброе дело.

11 F or you always have the poor among you, but you will not always have Me.

Потому что нищие всегда с вами, а Я не всегда буду с вами.

12 I n pouring this perfume on My body she has done something to prepare Me for My burial.

Вылив на Меня это масло, она тем самым приготовила Меня к погребению.

13 T ruly I tell you, wherever this good news (the Gospel) is preached in the whole world, what this woman has done will be told also, in memory of her.

Говорю вам истину: во всем мире, везде, где будет возвещена эта Радостная Весть, там в память об этой женщине будет рассказано и о том, что она сделала. Иуда Искариот решает предать Иисуса (Мк. 14: 10-11; Лк. 22: 3-6)

14 T hen one of the Twelve, who was called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests

Затем Иуда Искариот, один из двенадцати учеников, пошел к первосвященникам

15 A nd said, What are you willing to give me if I hand Him over to you? And they weighed out for and paid to him thirty pieces of silver.

с предложением. – Что вы мне дадите, если я предам вам Иисуса? – спросил он их. Те отсчитали ему тридцать серебряных монет.

16 A nd from that moment he sought a fitting opportunity to betray Him.

И с того момента Иуда стал искать удобного случая, чтобы предать Его. Ученики готовятся к пасхальному ужину (Мк. 14: 12-16; Лк. 22: 7-13)

17 N ow on the first day of Unleavened Bread, the disciples came to Jesus and said to Him, Where do You wish us to prepare for You to eat the Passover supper?

В первый день праздника Пресных хлебов ученики спросили Иисуса: – Где нам приготовить Тебе пасхальный ужин ?

18 H e said, Go into the city to a certain man and say to him, The Master says: My time is near; I will keep the Passover at your house with My disciples.

Иисус ответил: – Идите в город к такому-то и скажите ему: «Учитель говорит, что Его время уже подошло, и Он хочет в твоем доме отпраздновать Пасху со Cвоими учениками».

19 A nd accordingly the disciples did as Jesus had directed them, and they made ready the Passover supper.

Ученики сделали все, как им велел Иисус, и приготовили пасхальный ужин. Последний ужин Иисуса с учениками (Мк. 14: 17-25; Лк. 22: 17-23; 1 Кор. 11: 23-25)

20 W hen it was evening, He was reclining at table with the twelve disciples.

Вечером Иисус и двенадцать учеников возлегли у стола.

21 A nd as they were eating, He said, Solemnly I say to you, one of you will betray Me!

Когда они ели, Иисус сказал: – Говорю вам истину: один из вас предаст Меня.

22 T hey were exceedingly pained and distressed and deeply hurt and sorrowful and began to say to Him one after another, Surely it cannot be I, Lord, can it?

Ученики сильно опечалились и один за другим стали спрашивать Его: – Не я ли, Господи?

23 H e replied, He who has dipped his hand in the same dish with Me will betray Me!

А Иисус сказал: – Тот, кто опустил руку в блюдо вместе со Мной, тот предаст Меня.

24 T he Son of Man is going just as it is written of Him; but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been better (more profitable and wholesome) for that man if he had never been born!

Хотя Сын Человеческий уходит так, как о Нем сказано в Писании, но горе тому человеку, кто предает Сына Человеческого! Лучше бы ему вообще не родиться.

25 J udas, the betrayer, said, Surely it is not I, is it, Master? He said to him, You have stated.

Тогда Иуда, предатель, тоже спросил: – Не я ли, Рабби? – Ты сам это сказал, – ответил Иисус.

26 N ow as they were eating, Jesus took bread and, praising God, gave thanks and asked Him to bless it to their use, and when He had broken it, He gave it to the disciples and said, Take, eat; this is My body.

Когда они ели, Иисус взял хлеб и, благословив, разломил его, дал Своим ученикам со словами: – Возьмите и ешьте, это Мое тело.

27 A nd He took a cup, and when He had given thanks, He gave it to them, saying, Drink of it, all of you;

Затем Он взял чашу, поблагодарил за нее Бога и, подав им, сказал: – Пейте из нее все.

28 F or this is My blood of the new covenant, which '> ratifies the agreement and] is being poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.

Это Моя кровь завета, проливаемая за многих людей для прощения грехов.

29 I say to you, I shall not drink again of this fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it with you new and of superior quality in My Father’s kingdom.

Говорю вам, что Я уже не буду пить от плода виноградного до того дня, когда Я буду пить с вами новое вино в Царстве Моего Отца. Иисус предсказывает отречение Петра (Мк. 14: 26-31; Лк. 22: 33-34; Ин. 13: 37-38)

30 A nd when they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.

Они спели и пошли на Масличную гору.

31 T hen Jesus said to them, You will all be offended and stumble and fall away because of Me this night, for it is written, I will strike the Shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.

Тогда Иисус сказал им: – В эту ночь вы все отступитесь от Меня, ведь написано: «Я поражу Пастуха, и разбегутся овцы стада».

32 B ut after I am raised up, I will go ahead of you to Galilee.

Но когда Я воскресну, то пойду в Галилею и буду ждать вас там.

33 P eter declared to Him, Though they all are offended and stumble and fall away because of You, I will never do so.

Петр ответил: – Даже если все Тебя оставят, я этого никогда не сделаю.

34 J esus said to him, Solemnly I declare to you, this very night, before a single rooster crows, you will deny and disown Me three times.

– Говорю тебе истину, – сказал ему Иисус, – в эту ночь, прежде чем пропоет петух, ты трижды отречешься от Меня.

35 P eter said to Him, Even if I must die with You, I will not deny or disown You! And all the disciples said the same thing.

Но Петр уверял: – Даже если мне придется умереть с Тобой, я никогда не откажусь от Тебя. То же самое говорили и все ученики. Молитва Иисуса в Гефсиманском саду (Мк. 14: 32-42; Лк. 22: 39-46)

36 T hen Jesus went with them to a place called Gethsemane, and He told His disciples, Sit down here while I go over yonder and pray.

Иисус пришел с ними на место, называемое Гефсимания, и сказал ученикам: – Посидите здесь, а Я пойду и помолюсь.

37 A nd taking with Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, He began to show grief and distress of mind and was deeply depressed.

Он взял с Собой Петра и двух сыновей Зеведея. Его охватили тоска и тревога.

38 T hen He said to them, My soul is very sad and deeply grieved, so that I am almost dying of sorrow. Stay here and keep awake and keep watch with Me.

Тогда Он сказал им: – Душа Моя объята смертельной печалью. Побудьте здесь и бодрствуйте со Мной.

39 A nd going a little farther, He threw Himself upon the ground on His face and prayed saying, My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass away from Me; nevertheless, not what I will, but as You will and desire.

Отойдя немного, Иисус пал на лицо Свое и молился: – Отец Мой, если возможно, то пусть минует Меня эта чаша, но пусть будет все не как Я хочу, а как Ты хочешь.

40 A nd He came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and He said to Peter, What! Are you so utterly unable to stay awake and keep watch with Me for one hour?

Затем Он возвратился к ученикам и нашел их спящими. – Неужели вы даже часу не могли пободрствовать вместе со Мной? – спросил Он Петра. –

41 A ll of you must keep awake (give strict attention, be cautious and active) and watch and pray, that you may not come into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

Бодрствуйте и молитесь, чтобы вам не поддаться искушению. Дух бодр, но тело слабо.

42 A gain a second time He went away and prayed, My Father, if this cannot pass by unless I drink it, Your will be done.

И во второй раз Он ушел и молился: – Отец Мой, если невозможно, чтобы эта чаша миновала Меня и чтобы Мне не пить из нее, то пусть все будет по Твоей воле.

43 A nd again He came and found them sleeping, for their eyes were weighed down with sleep.

Когда Он вернулся, ученики опять спали, потому что их веки отяжелели.

44 S o, leaving them again, He went away and prayed for the third time, using the same words.

И, оставив их, Иисус отошел и стал молиться в третий раз теми же словами.

45 T hen He returned to the disciples and said to them, Are you still sleeping and taking your rest? Behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of especially wicked sinners '> whose way or nature it is to act in opposition to God].

Затем Он возвратился к ученикам и сказал им: – Вы все спите и отдыхаете? Вот, время настало, и Сын Человеческий предается в руки грешников.

46 G et up, let us be going! See, My betrayer is at hand!

Вставайте, идем. Вот уже и Мой предатель приблизился. Иисус предан и арестован (Мк. 14: 43-50; Лк. 22: 47-53; Ин. 18: 3-11)

47 A s He was still speaking, Judas, one of the Twelve, came up, and with him a great crowd with swords and clubs, from the chief priests and elders of the people.

Он еще говорил, как подошел Иуда, один из Его двенадцати учеников, и с ним большая толпа, вооруженная мечами и кольями. Их послали первосвященники и старейшины народа.

48 N ow the betrayer had given them a sign, saying, The One I shall kiss is the Man; seize Him.

Предатель так условился с ними: – Хватайте Того, Кого я поцелую.

49 A nd he came up to Jesus at once and said, Hail (greetings, good health to You, long life to You), Master! And he embraced Him and kissed Him with warmth and devotion.

Подойдя сразу же к Иисусу, Иуда сказал: – Здравствуй, Рабби! – и поцеловал Его.

50 J esus said to him, Friend, for what are you here? Then they came up and laid hands on Jesus and arrested Him.

Иисус же сказал ему: – Друг, делай то, для чего пришел. Тут подошли люди и, схватив Иисуса, взяли Его под стражу.

51 A nd behold, one of those who were with Jesus reached out his hand and drew his sword and, striking the body servant of the high priest, cut off his ear.

Тогда один из тех, кто был с Иисусом, вытащил меч, ударил слугу первосвященника и отсек ему ухо.

52 T hen Jesus said to him, Put your sword back into its place, for all who draw the sword will die by the sword.

– Верни свой меч на место, – сказал ему Иисус. – Все, кто берется за меч, от меча и погибнут.

53 D o you suppose that I cannot appeal to My Father, and He will immediately provide Me with more than twelve legions '> more than 80, 000] of angels?

Неужели ты думаешь, что Я не мог бы упросить Моего Отца немедленно прислать Мне более двенадцати легионов ангелов?

54 B ut how then would the Scriptures be fulfilled, that it must come about this way?

Но как же тогда исполнится Писание, что все это должно произойти?

55 A t that moment Jesus said to the crowds, Have you come out with swords and clubs as against a robber to capture Me? Day after day I was accustomed to sit in the porches and courts of the temple teaching, and you did not arrest Me.

Затем Иисус обратился к толпе: – Что Я, разбойник, что вы пришли с мечами и кольями, чтобы арестовать Меня? Каждый день Я сидел и учил в храме, и вы не арестовали Меня.

56 B ut all this has taken place in order that the Scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples deserted Him and, fleeing, escaped.

Но все произошло именно так, чтобы исполнились писания пророков. Тогда все ученики оставили Его и убежали. Иисус на допросе у Кайафы (Мк. 14: 53-65; Лк. 22: 54-55, 63-71; Ин. 18: 12-13, 19-24)

57 B ut those who had seized Jesus took Him away to Caiaphas, the high priest, where the scribes and the elders had assembled.

Арестовавшие Иисуса привели Его к первосвященнику Кайафе, у которого уже собрались учители Закона и старейшины.

58 B ut Peter followed Him at a distance, as far as the courtyard of the high priest’s home; he even went inside and sat with the guards to see the end.

Петр следовал за Иисусом на некотором расстоянии и прошел прямо во двор первосвященника. Войдя внутрь, он сел со стражниками, чтобы увидеть, чем все кончится.

59 N ow the chief priests and the whole council (the Sanhedrin) sought to get false witnesses to testify against Jesus, so that they might put Him to death;

Первосвященники и весь Высший Совет искали ложных показаний против Иисуса, чтобы приговорить Его к смерти.

60 B ut they found none, though many witnesses came forward. At last two men came forward

Но они ничего не могли найти, хотя и пришло много лжесвидетелей. Наконец вышли два человека

61 A nd testified, This Fellow said, I am able to tear down the sanctuary of the temple of God and to build it up again in three days.

и заявили: – Этот человек говорил: «Я могу разрушить Божий храм и восстановить его за три дня».

62 A nd the high priest stood up and said, Have You no answer to make? What about this that these men testify against You?

Тогда первосвященник встал и спросил Иисуса: – Тебе нечего ответить на эти свидетельства против Тебя?

63 B ut Jesus kept silent. And the high priest said to Him, I call upon you to swear by the living God, and tell us whether you are the Christ, the Son of God.

Иисус молчал. Первосвященник сказал Ему: – Я заклинаю Тебя живым Богом, скажи нам: Ты – Христос, Сын Божий?

64 J esus said to him, You have stated. More than that, I tell you: You will in the future see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of the Almighty and coming on the clouds of the sky.

– Ты сам так сказал, – ответил Иисус, – но говорю вам, что отныне вы увидите Сына Человеческого, сидящим по правую руку от Всемогущего и идущим на облаках небесных!

65 T hen the high priest tore his clothes and exclaimed, He has uttered blasphemy! What need have we of further evidence? You have now heard His blasphemy.

Тогда первосвященник разорвал на себе одежду и сказал: – Он кощунствует! Какие нам еще нужны свидетели?! Вы теперь сами слышали кощунство!

66 W hat do you think now? They answered, He deserves to be put to death.

Каково ваше решение? Они ответили: – Он виновен и заслуживает смерти.

67 T hen they spat in His face and struck Him with their fists; and some slapped Him in the face,

Тогда Иисусу стали плевать в лицо и бить Его кулаками, некоторые же били Его по щекам и

68 S aying, Prophesy to us, You Christ (the Messiah)! Who was it that struck You?

спрашивали: – Прореки нам, Христос, кто Тебя ударил? Отречение Петра (Мк. 14: 66-72; Лк. 22: 54-62; Ин. 18: 16-18, 25-27)

69 N ow Peter was sitting outside in the courtyard, and one maid came up to him and said, You were also with Jesus the Galilean!

Петр же сидел снаружи, во дворе, когда к нему подошла служанка. – Ты тоже был с Иисусом Галилеянином, – сказала она.

70 B ut he denied it falsely before them all, saying, I do not know what you mean.

Но Петр отрицал перед всеми: – Я не знаю, о чем ты говоришь.

71 A nd when he had gone out to the porch, another maid saw him, and she said to the bystanders, This fellow was with Jesus the Nazarene!

Когда он отошел к воротам, его увидела другая служанка. Она сказала стоявшим рядом: – Этот человек был с Иисусом Назарянином.

72 A nd again he denied it and disowned Him with an oath, saying, I do not know the Man!

Петр снова все отрицал, поклявшись, что он не знает Этого Человека.

73 A fter a little while, the bystanders came up and said to Peter, You certainly are one of them too, for even your accent betrays you.

Но спустя немного времени стоявшие там люди подошли и сказали ему: – Точно, ты тоже один из них, тебя и говор твой выдает.

74 T hen Peter began to invoke a curse on himself and to swear, I do not even know the Man! And at that moment a rooster crowed.

Тогда Петр начал клясться и божиться: – Я не знаю Этого Человека! И тотчас пропел петух.

75 A nd Peter remembered Jesus’ words, when He had said, Before a single rooster crows, you will deny and disown Me three times. And he went outside and wept bitterly.

И тогда Петр вспомнил слова Иисуса: «Прежде чем пропоет петух, ты трижды отречешься от Меня». И, выйдя наружу, он горько заплакал.
