1 T hen all Israel gathered at Hebron and said to David, Behold, we are your bone and your flesh.

Все израильтяне собрались к Давиду в Хеврон и сказали: – Мы – твоя плоть и кровь.

2 I n times past, even when Saul was king, it was you who led out and brought in Israel; and the Lord your God said to you, You shall be shepherd of My people Israel, and you shall be prince and leader over.

Даже прежде, когда нашим царем был Саул, это ты водил Израиль в бой. И Господь, твой Бог, сказал тебе: «Ты будешь пасти Мой народ, Израиль, и станешь его вождем».

3 S o all the elders of Israel came to the king at Hebron, and David made a covenant with them there before the Lord, and they anointed king over Israel, according to the word of the Lord through Samuel.

Когда все старейшины Израиля пришли к царю Давиду в Хеврон, он заключил с ними в Хевроне союз перед Господом, и они помазали Давида в цари над Израилем, как и обещал через Самуила Господь. Давид захватывает Иерусалим (2 Цар. 5: 6-10)

4 A nd David and all Israel went to Jerusalem, that is Jebus, where the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land, were.

Давид и все израильтяне пошли на Иерусалим (то есть Иевус). Иевусеи, жившие там,

5 T hen the Jebusites said to David, You shall not come in here! But David took the stronghold of Zion, that is, the City of David.

сказали Давиду: – Ты не войдешь сюда. Но Давид захватил крепость Сион, что ныне Город Давида.

6 A nd David said, Whoever smites the Jebusites first shall be chief and commander. Joab son of Zeruiah went up first, and so he was made chief.

Давид сказал: – Кто ударит по иевусеем первым, станет главой войска. Первым поднялся Иоав, сын Саруи, и получил командование.

7 D avid dwelt in the stronghold; so it was called the City of David.

Давид обосновался в крепости и потому она стала называться городом Давида.

8 H e built the city from the Millo on around; and Joab repaired and revived the rest of the city.

Он обстроил ее кругом от Милло до окружной стены, а Иоав отстроил остальные части города.

9 A nd David became greater and greater, for the Lord of hosts was with him.

Давид становился все более и более крепок силой, потому что с ним был Господь сил. Прославленные воины Давида (2 Цар. 23: 8-39)

10 N ow these are the chiefs of David’s mighty men, who strongly supported him in his kingdom, together with all Israel, to make him king, according to the word of the Lord concerning Israel.

Вот вожди воинов Давида, которые вместе со всем Израилем своей силой поддержали его в его царстве, чтобы воцарить его, как обещал Господь.

11 A nd this is the number of David’s mighty men: Jashobeam, a Hachmonite, the chief of the Thirty. He lifted up his spear against 300, whom he slew at one time.

Вот список воинов Давида: Иашовеам, сын Ахамани, который был главой троих; он сражался с копьем против трехсот человек и убил их в одной схватке.

12 N ext to him in rank was Eleazar son of Dodo the Ahohite, one of the three mighty men.

После него в числе троих воинов был Элеазар, сын ахохитянина Додай.

13 H e was with David at Pas-dammim, and there the Philistines were gathered for battle, where there was a plot of ground full of barley or lentils; and the men fled before the Philistines.

Он был с Давидом в Пас-Дамиме, когда филистимляне собрались там для битвы. Там было поле, засеянное ячменем. Войско стало разбегаться перед филистимлянами,

14 A nd Eleazar stood in the midst of that plot and defended it and slew the Philistines, and the Lord saved by a great victory and deliverance.

но эти воины встали посреди поля, защитили его и поразили филистимлян, и Господь даровал им великую победу.

15 T hree of the thirty chief men went down to the rock to David, into the cave of Adullam, and the army of the Philistines was encamped in the Valley of Rephaim.

Трое из тридцати вождей пришли к Давиду к скале у пещеры Адуллам, когда войско филистимлян стояло лагерем в долине Рефаим.

16 D avid was then in the stronghold, and the Philistines’ garrison was in Bethlehem.

Давид тогда был в укреплении, а филистимский отряд разместился в Вифлееме.

17 A nd David longingly said, Oh, that someone would give me water to drink from the well of Bethlehem which is by the gate!

Давида томила жажда, и он сказал: – О, если бы кто-нибудь принес мне попить из колодца у вифлеемских ворот!

18 T hen the Three broke through the camp of the Philistines and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem which was by the gate and brought it to David. But David would not drink it; he poured it out to the Lord,

Тогда те трое пробились через филистимский лагерь, зачерпнули воды из колодца у вифлеемских ворот и принесли Давиду. Но он отказался пить и вылил воду как приношение Господу.

19 A nd said, My God forbid that I should do this thing. Shall I drink the blood of these men who have put their lives in jeopardy? For at the risk of their lives they brought it. So he would not drink it. These things did these three mighty men.

– Сохрани меня Бог сделать это! – сказал он. – Разве я стану пить кровь этих людей. Ведь они принесли воду, рискуя своей жизнью! И Давид не стал пить. Таковы подвиги этих трех воинов.

20 A bishai the brother of Joab was chief of the Three. For he lifted up his spear against 300 and slew them, and was named among the Three.

Брат Иоава Авишай, был главой троих. Он с копьем сражался против трехсот человек, перебил их всех и прославился наравне с теми тремя.

21 O f the Three he was more renowned than the two, and became their captain; however, he attained not to the first three.

Он был самым знаменитым из тридцати и стал их вождем, но не равнялся с теми тремя.

22 B enaiah son of Jehoiada, whose father was a valiant man of Kabzeel, had done mighty deeds. He slew the two sons of Ariel of Moab. Also he went down and slew a lion in a pit in time of snow.

Ванея, сын Иодая, был доблестным воином из Кавцеила, совершившим великие подвиги. Он сразил двух сильнейших воинов из Моава. Еще он спустился в ров в снежный день и убил там льва.

23 H e slew an Egyptian also, a man of great stature, five cubits tall. The Egyptian held a spear like a weaver’s beam, and went to him with a staff and plucked the spear out of the Egyptian’s hand and slew him with the man’s own spear.

Он также сразил египтянина, который был пяти локтей ростом. В руке у египтянина было копье, большое, как ткацкий навой, но Ванея вышел против него с палкой. Он вырвал копье из руки египтянина и убил его этим же копьем.

24 T hese things did Benaiah son of Jehoiada, and won a name beside the three mighty men.

Таковы были подвиги Ванеи, сына Иодая. Он прославился наравне с теми тремя.

25 H e was renowned among the Thirty, but he did not attain to the rank of the first three. David put him over his guard and council.

Он был знаменит среди тридцати, но славой с теми тремя не равнялся. Давид сделал его начальником своей стражи.

26 A lso the mighty men of the armies were: Asahel the brother of Joab, Elhanan son of Dodo of Bethlehem,

Главными из воинов были: Асаил, брат Иоава, Элханан, сын Додо из Вифлеема,

27 S hammoth of Harod, Helez the Pelonite,

Шамма из Гарода, пелонитянин Хелец,

28 I ra son of Ikkesh of Tekoa, Abiezer of Anathoth,

Ира, сын Икеша, из Текоа, Авиезер из Анатота,

29 S ibbecai the Hushathite, Ilai the Ahohite,

30 M aharai of Netophah, Heled son of Baanah of Netophah,

31 I thai son of Ribai of Gibeah of the Benjamites, Benaiah of Pirathon,
