1 W e have heard with our ears, O God; our fathers have told us work You did in their days, in the days of old.

Боже, своими ушами мы слышали, рассказали нам наши отцы о том, что Ты сделал в их дни, в дни стародавние.

2 Y ou drove out the nations with Your hand and it was Your power that gave a home by rooting out the peoples, but You spread out.

Рукою Своей Ты изгнал народы, а наших отцов в земле насадил. Ты сокрушил народы и заставил оставить их землю.

3 F or they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them; but Your right hand and Your arm and the light of Your countenance, because You were favorable toward and did delight in them.

Не мечом своим землю отцы добыли, и не сила их дала им победу, а Твоя правая рука и сила Твоя, и свет Твоего лица, потому что Ты возлюбил их.

4 Y ou are my King, O God; command victories and deliverance for Jacob (Israel).

Ты − Царь мой и Бог; даруй победы Иакову!

5 T hrough You shall we push down our enemies; through Your name shall we tread them under who rise up against us.

С Тобой мы тесним врага и во Имя Твое попираем противника.

6 F or I will not trust in and lean on my bow, neither shall my sword save me.

Я не верю в свой лук, и не меч мой мне дарит победу.

7 B ut You have saved us from our foes and have put them to shame who hate us.

Это Ты спасаешь нас от врагов, ненавидящих нас предаешь стыду.

8 I n God we have made our boast all the day long, and we will give thanks to Your name forever. Selah!

Богом мы хвалимся каждый день и Имя Твое будем славить вовек. Пауза

9 B ut now You have cast us off and brought us to dishonor, and You go not out with our armies.

Но теперь Ты оставил нас и посрамил, и уже не выходишь с войсками нашими на битву.

10 Y ou make us to turn back from the enemy, and they who hate us take spoil for themselves.

Ты обратил нас в бегство перед врагом, и ненавистники наши нас грабят.

11 Y ou have made us like sheep intended for mutton and have scattered us in exile among the nations.

Ты отдал нас, как овец, на съедение, и рассеял нас между народами.

12 Y ou sell Your people for nothing, and have not increased Your wealth by their price.

За бесценок Ты продал народ Свой, ничего от продажи не выручив.

13 Y ou have made us the taunt of our neighbors, a scoffing and a derision to those who are round about us.

Ты сделал нас глумлением для наших соседей; все окружающие смеются и издеваются над нами.

14 Y ou make us a byword among the nations, a shaking of the heads among the people.

Ты сделал нас посмешищем для других народов; люди качают головой, глядя на нас.

15 M y dishonor is before me all day long, and shame has covered my face

Всякий день бесчестие мое предо мной, и лицо мое горит от стыда

16 A t the words of the taunter and reviler, by reason of the enemy and the revengeful.

из-за насмешек тех, кто злословит меня и бранит, из-за мстительного врага.

17 A ll this is come upon us, yet have we not forgotten You, neither have we been false to Your covenant.

Все это случилось с нами, хотя мы Тебя не забыли и не предали Твой завет.

18 O ur hearts are not turned back, neither have our steps declined from Your path,

Не отступали наши сердца, и наши стопы с пути Твоего не сходили.

19 T hough You have distressingly broken us in the place of jackals and covered us with deep darkness, even with the shadow of death.

Но Ты сокрушил нас, превратил наши жилища в шакальи логова и покрыл нас непроглядной тьмой.

20 I f we had forgotten the name of our God or stretched out our hands to a strange god,

Если бы забыли мы Имя нашего Бога и к чужому богу простерли руки,

21 W ould not God discover this? For He knows the secrets of the heart.

неужели Бог не узнал бы об этом – Тот, Кто ведает тайны сердца?

22 N o, but for Your sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

Ради Тебя убивают нас всякий день и смотрят на нас, как на овец перед бойней.

23 A wake! Why do You sleep, O Lord? Arouse Yourself, cast us not off forever!

Пробудись, Владыка! Почему Ты спишь? Восстань! Не отвергни нас навсегда.

24 W hy do You hide Your face and forget our affliction and our oppression?

Почему Ты скрываешь лицо, забывая беду нашу и гонения?

25 F or our lives are bowed down to the dust; our bodies cleave to the ground.

Сведена наша жизнь во прах, и тела наши льнут к земле.

26 R ise up! Come to our help, and deliver us for Your mercy’s sake and because of Your steadfast love!

Восстань, помоги нам; спаси нас по Своей милости.
