1 W e have heard with our ears, O God; our fathers have told us work You did in their days, in the days of old.

O Perëndi, e kemi dëgjuar me veshët tona, etërit tanë na kanë treguar veprën që ti ke bërë në ditët e tyre në kohërat e lashta.

2 Y ou drove out the nations with Your hand and it was Your power that gave a home by rooting out the peoples, but You spread out.

Për t’i vendosur me dorën tënde ti ke shpronësuar kombet, ke çrrënjosur popuj për t’u bërë vend atyre. Në fakt nuk e pushtuan vendin me shpatën e tyre dhe nuk qe krahu i tyre që i shpëtoi, por ishte dora jote e djathtë, krahu yt dhe drita e fytyr

3 F or they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them; but Your right hand and Your arm and the light of Your countenance, because You were favorable toward and did delight in them.

4 Y ou are my King, O God; command victories and deliverance for Jacob (Israel).

Ti je mbreti im, o Perëndi, që vendos fitoret për Jakobin.

5 T hrough You shall we push down our enemies; through Your name shall we tread them under who rise up against us.

Me anën tënde do të përmbysim armiqtë tanë; në emër tënd do të shkelim ata që ngrihen kundër nesh.

6 F or I will not trust in and lean on my bow, neither shall my sword save me.

Sepse nuk kam besim tek harku im dhe nuk do të jetë shpata ime ajo që do të më shpëtojë.

7 B ut You have saved us from our foes and have put them to shame who hate us.

Por je ti ai që na shpëton nga armiqtë tanë dhe që i mbulon me turp ata që na urrejnë.

8 I n God we have made our boast all the day long, and we will give thanks to Your name forever. Selah!

Ne do të lëvdojmë çdo ditë Perëndinë dhe do të kremtojmë emrin tënd përjetë. (Sela)

9 B ut now You have cast us off and brought us to dishonor, and You go not out with our armies.

Por ti na dëbove dhe na mbulove me turp, dhe nuk del më me ushtritë tona.

10 Y ou make us to turn back from the enemy, and they who hate us take spoil for themselves.

Ti ke bërë të kthejmë kurrizin përpara armikut, dhe ata që na urrejnë na kanë grabitur.

11 Y ou have made us like sheep intended for mutton and have scattered us in exile among the nations.

Ti na ke dhënë si dele për therje dhe na ke shpërndarë midis kombeve.

12 Y ou sell Your people for nothing, and have not increased Your wealth by their price.

Ti e ke shitur popullin tënd për asgjë dhe nuk ke nxjerrë asnjë fitim nga shitja e tij.

13 Y ou have made us the taunt of our neighbors, a scoffing and a derision to those who are round about us.

Ti na bëre për turp me fqinjët tanë, u bëmë gazi dhe tallja e atyre që rrijnë rreth nesh.

14 Y ou make us a byword among the nations, a shaking of the heads among the people.

Ti na ke bërë të jemi gazi i kombëve; përsa na përket neve, popujt tundin kokën.

15 M y dishonor is before me all day long, and shame has covered my face

Turpi im më rri gjithmonë përpara, dhe fytyra ime është e mbuluar nga turpi,

16 A t the words of the taunter and reviler, by reason of the enemy and the revengeful.

për shkak të atij që më fyen dhe më poshtëron, për shkak të armikut dhe atij që kërkon hakmarrje.

17 A ll this is come upon us, yet have we not forgotten You, neither have we been false to Your covenant.

Të tëra këto na kanë rënë mbi kurriz, por ne nuk kemi harruar dhe nuk kemi tradhëtuar besëlidhjen tënde.

18 O ur hearts are not turned back, neither have our steps declined from Your path,

Zemra jonë nuk është kthyer prapa dhe hapat tona nuk janë larguar nga rruga jote,

19 T hough You have distressingly broken us in the place of jackals and covered us with deep darkness, even with the shadow of death.

por ti na ke copëtuar, duke na futur në vende çakejsh dhe duke na mbuluar me hijen e vdekjes.

20 I f we had forgotten the name of our God or stretched out our hands to a strange god,

Po të kishim harruar emrin e Perëndisë tonë dhe po t’i kishim shtrirë duart tona drejt një perëndie të huaj,

21 W ould not God discover this? For He knows the secrets of the heart.

a nuk do ta kishte zbuluar Perëndia këtë gjë? Në fakt ai i njeh sekretet e zemrës.

22 N o, but for Your sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

Po, për shkakun tënd ne vritemi çdo ditë dhe konsiderohemi si dele.

23 A wake! Why do You sleep, O Lord? Arouse Yourself, cast us not off forever!

Zgjohu! Pse fle, o Zot? Çohu, mos na kthe për gjithnjë.

24 W hy do You hide Your face and forget our affliction and our oppression?

Pse e fsheh fytyrën tënde, dhe harron pikëllimin tonë dhe shtypjen tonë?

25 F or our lives are bowed down to the dust; our bodies cleave to the ground.

Sepse shpirtërat tona janë ulur deri te pluhuri dhe trupi ynë i është ngjitur tokës.

26 R ise up! Come to our help, and deliver us for Your mercy’s sake and because of Your steadfast love!

Çohu të na ndihmosh dhe na shpëto për hir të mirësisë sate.
