2 W e are ever giving thanks to God for all of you, continually mentioning in our prayers,

3 R ecalling unceasingly before our God and Father your work energized by faith and service motivated by love and unwavering hope in our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah).

4 b rethren beloved by God, we recognize and know that He has selected (chosen) you;

5 F or our glad tidings (the Gospel) came to you not only in word, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with great conviction and absolute certainty. You know what kind of men we proved to be among you for your good.

Наша Радостная Весть пришла к вам не только как слова, но в ней были и сила Святого Духа, и полная уверенность в ее истине. Вы знаете и то, какими мы были для вас, находясь с вами.

6 A nd you become imitators of us and of the Lord Himself, for you welcomed our message in much persecution, with joy by the Holy Spirit;

И вы стали подражать нам и Господу и, несмотря на большие страдания, приняли слово о Христе с радостью, данной вам Святым Духом.

7 S o that you became a pattern to all the believers (those who adhere to, trust in, and rely on Christ Jesus) in Macedonia and Achaia (most of Greece).

Вы стали образцом для верующих в Македонии и Ахаии,

8 F or not only has the Word concerning and from the Lord resounded forth from you unmistakably in Macedonia and Achaia, but everywhere the report has gone forth of your faith in God '> leaning of your whole personality on Him in complete trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness]. So we never need to tell people anything.

и слово Господа, таким образом, распространилось от вас не только в Македонии и Ахаии, но и повсюду разошлась весть о вашей вере в Бога, и нам уже ничего и не нужно говорить.

9 F or they themselves volunteer testimony concerning us, telling what an entrance we had among you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve a God Who is alive and true and genuine,

Так как уже другие рассказывают нам о том, как вы нас приняли и как вы оставили идолов и обратились к живому и истинному Богу, чтобы служить Ему

10 A nd look forward to and await the coming of His Son from heaven, Whom He raised from the dead—Jesus, Who personally rescues and delivers us out of and from the wrath which is coming and draws us to Himself '> investing us with all the privileges and rewards of the new life in Christ, the Messiah].

и ожидать с небес Его Сына, Которого Он воскресил из мертвых, Иисуса, Который избавляет нас от приближающегося Божьего гнева.
