1 B lessed (happy, fortunate, prosperous, and enviable) is the man who walks and lives not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path where sinners walk, nor sits down where the scornful gather.

Блажен человек, который не следует совету нечестивых, не стоит на пути грешников, и не сидит в собрании насмехающихся,

2 B ut his delight and desire are in the law of the Lord, and on His law (the precepts, the instructions, the teachings of God) he habitually meditates (ponders and studies) by day and by night.

но в Господнем Законе находит радость, и о Законе Его размышляет день и ночь.

3 A nd he shall be like a tree firmly planted by the streams of water, ready to bring forth its fruit in its season; its leaf also shall not fade or wither; and everything he does shall prosper.

Он как дерево, посаженное у потоков вод, которое приносит плод в свое время, и чей лист не вянет. Что бы он ни сделал, во всем преуспеет.

4 N ot so the wicked. But they are like the chaff which the wind drives away.

Не таковы нечестивые! Они как мякина, которую гонит ветер.

5 T herefore the wicked shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

Поэтому не устоят на суде нечестивые и грешники в собрании праведных.

6 F or the Lord knows and is fully acquainted with the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly shall perish (end in ruin and come to nought).

Ведь Господь охраняет путь праведных, а путь нечестивых погибнет.
