1 A fter Jesus had finished all that He had to say in the hearing of the people, He entered Capernaum.

Закончив говорить народу, Иисус отправился в Капернаум.

2 N ow a centurion had a bond servant who was held in honor and highly valued by him, who was sick and at the point of death.

Там у одного сотника был болен и лежал при смерти слуга. Сотник очень дорожил этим своим слугой,

3 A nd when the centurion heard of Jesus, he sent some Jewish elders to Him, requesting Him to come and make his bond servant well.

и когда он услышал об Иисусе, то послал к Нему иудейских старейшин с просьбой прийти и исцелить его слугу.

4 A nd when they reached Jesus, they begged Him earnestly, saying, He is worthy that You should do this for him,

Старейшины пришли к Иисусу и стали горячо просить Его: – Этот человек заслуживает Твоей помощи,

5 F or he loves our nation and he built us our synagogue.

потому что он любит наш народ, и это он построил нам синагогу.

6 A nd Jesus went with them. But when He was not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to Him, saying, Lord, do not trouble, for I am not sufficiently worthy to have You come under my roof;

Иисус пошел с ними. Он уже подходил к дому, когда сотник послал к Нему друзей передать: – Господи, не утруждай Себя, так как я не достоин, чтобы Ты вошел под крышу моего дома.

7 N either did I consider myself worthy to come to You. But speak a word, and my servant boy will be healed.

Я и себя не счел достойным прийти к Тебе. Но скажи лишь слово, и мой слуга выздоровеет.

8 F or I also am a man subject to authority, with soldiers under me. And I say to one, Go, and he goes; and to another, Come, and he comes; and to my bond servant, Do this, and he does it.

Ведь и сам я подчиняюсь приказам, и у меня в подчинении тоже есть воины. Я говорю одному: «Ступай!», и он идет, другому: «Ко мне!», и тот приходит. Слуге моему говорю: «Сделай это», и он делает.

9 N ow when Jesus heard this, He marveled at him, and He turned and said to the crowd that followed Him, I tell you, not even in Israel have I found such great faith.

Иисус, услышав это, удивился и, обернувшись к толпе, шедшей за Ним, сказал: – Говорю вам, что даже в Израиле Я не встречал такой сильной веры.

10 A nd when the messengers who had been sent returned to the house, they found the bond servant who had been ill quite well again.

Когда посланные возвратились в дом, они нашли слугу здоровым. Иисус воскрешает сына вдовы

11 S oon afterward, Jesus went to a town called Nain, and His disciples and a great throng accompanied Him.

Вскоре после этого Иисус пошел в город, называемый Наин, с Ним были Его ученики и много других людей.

12 a s He drew near the gate of the town, behold, a man who had died was being carried out—the only son of his mother, and she was a widow; and a large gathering from the town was accompanying her.

Когда Он подходил к воротам города, из них выносили умершего, единственного сына у матери, а она была вдовой. Вместе с ней из города выходила большая толпа.

13 A nd when the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said to her, Do not weep.

Когда Господь увидел эту женщину, Он сжалился над ней. – Не плачь, – сказал Он ей.

14 A nd He went forward and touched the funeral bier, and the pallbearers stood still. And He said, Young man, I say to you, arise '> from death]!

Затем Он подошел и прикоснулся к носилкам. Те, кто нес их, остановились, и Иисус сказал: – Юноша, говорю тебе: встань!

15 A nd the man dead sat up and began to speak. And gave him to his mother.

Умерший сел и начал говорить, и Иисус передал его матери.

16 P rofound and reverent fear seized them all, and they began to recognize God and praise and give thanks, saying, A great Prophet has appeared among us! And God has visited His people!

Всех, кто там был, охватил страх, и люди прославляли Бога: – Великий пророк появился среди нас! Бог посетил Свой народ!

17 A nd this report concerning spread through the whole of Judea and all the country round about.

И молва об Иисусе распространилась по всей Иудее и в окружающих ее землях. Иисус разрешает сомнения Иоанна (Мат. 11: 2-6)

18 A nd John’s disciples brought him word of all these things.

Ученики Иоанна рассказали ему обо всех этих событиях. И тогда Иоанн позвал к себе двоих из них

19 A nd John summoned to him a certain two of his disciples and sent them to the Lord, saying, Are You He Who is to come, or shall we look for another?

и послал их к Господу спросить: – Ты ли Тот, Кто должен прийти, или нам ожидать кого-то другого?

20 S o the men came to Jesus and said, John the Baptist sent us to You to ask, Are You the One Who is to come, or shall we look for another?

Они пришли к Иисусу и сказали: – Иоанн Креститель послал нас к Тебе спросить: Ты ли Тот, Кто должен прийти, или нам ожидать кого-то другого?

21 I n that very hour Jesus was healing many of sicknesses and distressing bodily plagues and evil spirits, and to many who were blind He gave '> a free, gracious, joy-giving gift of] sight.

Иисус как раз в это время исцелил множество людей от болезней, недугов, от одержимости злыми духами и многим слепым даровал зрение.

22 S o He replied to them, Go and tell John what you have seen and heard: the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the good news (the Gospel) preached to them.

И Он ответил посланным: – Пойдите и расскажите Иоанну о том, что вы увидели и услышали: слепые прозревают, хромые ходят, прокаженные очищаются, глухие слышат, мертвые воскресают и бедным возвещается Радостная Весть.

23 A nd blessed (happy— with life-joy and satisfaction in God’s favor and salvation, apart from outward conditions—and to be envied) is he who takes no offense in Me and who is not hurt or resentful or annoyed or repelled or made to stumble '> whatever may occur].

Блажен тот, кто не усомнится во Мне. Свидетельство Иисуса об Иоанне Крестителе (Мат. 11: 7-19)

24 A nd the messengers of John having departed, Jesus began to speak to the crowds about John: What did you go out into the desert to gaze on? A reed shaken and swayed by the wind?

Когда посланцы Иоанна ушли, Иисус начал говорить народу об Иоанне: – Что вы ходили смотреть в пустыню? Тростник, колеблемый ветром?

25 T hen what did you go out to see? A man dressed up in soft garments? Behold, those who wear fine apparel and live in luxury are in the courts or palaces of kings.

Тогда что же вы ходили смотреть? Человека, одетого в мягкие одежды? Нет, те, кто одевается в дорогую одежду и живет в роскоши, находятся в царских дворцах.

26 W hat then did you go out to see? A prophet (a forthteller)? Yes, I tell you, and far more than a prophet.

Тогда что же вы ходили смотреть? Пророка? Да, и говорю вам, что больше чем пророка.

27 T his is the one of whom it is written, Behold, I send My messenger before Your face, who shall make ready Your way before You.

Он тот, о ком написано: «Вот, Я посылаю перед Тобой Моего вестника, который приготовит перед Тобою Твой путь».

28 I tell you, among those born of women there is no one greater than John; but he that is inferior in the kingdom of God is greater than he.

Говорю вам, среди всех рожденных женщинами нет более великого, чем Иоанн. Но наименьший в Божьем Царстве – больше его.

29 A nd all the people who heard Him, even the tax collectors, acknowledged the justice of God '> calling them to repentance and in pronouncing future wrath on the impenitent], being baptized with the baptism of John.

(И весь народ, и даже сборщики налогов, услышав слова Иисуса, признали Божий путь правым, потому что они приняли крещение Иоанна.

30 B ut the Pharisees and the lawyers annulled and rejected and brought to nothing God’s purpose concerning themselves, by not being baptized by him.

Фарисеи же и учители Закона, отказавшись принять крещение от него, отвергли Божью волю.)

31 S o to what shall I compare the men of this generation? And what are they like?

– С кем тогда Мне сравнить людей этого поколения? – продолжал Иисус. – На кого они похожи?

32 T hey are like little children sitting in the marketplace, calling to one another and saying, We piped to you, and you did not dance; we sang dirges and wailed, and you did not weep.

Они как дети, которые сидят на площади и кричат друг другу: «Мы играли вам на свирели, а вы не плясали; мы пели вам похоронные песни, а вы не плакали».

33 F or John the Baptist has come neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, He has a demon.

Смотрите, вот пришел Иоанн Креститель, не ест хлеба и не пьет вина, и вы говорите: «В нем демон».

34 T he Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say, Behold, a Man Who is a glutton and a wine drinker, a friend of tax collectors and notorious sinners.

Пришел Сын Человеческий, ест и пьет, и вы говорите: «Вот обжора и пьяница, друг сборщиков податей и грешников».

35 Y et wisdom is vindicated ( shown to be true and divine) by all her children '> by their life, character, and deeds].

Но мудрость оправдана всеми детьми ее. Грешница омывает ноги Иисуса ароматным маслом (Мат. 26: 6-13; Мк. 14: 3-9; Ин. 12: 1-8)

36 O ne of the Pharisees asked Jesus to dine with him, and He went into the Pharisee’s house and reclined at table.

Один из фарисеев пригласил Иисуса к себе на обед. Иисус пришел к нему в дом и возлег у стола.

37 A nd behold, a woman of the town who was an especially wicked sinner, when she learned that He was reclining at table in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster flask of ointment (perfume).

В это время одна женщина из этого города, которая была известна как грешница, узнав, что Иисус обедает в доме фарисея, принесла туда алебастровый кувшин, в котором было очень дорогое ароматическое масло.

38 A nd standing behind Him at His feet weeping, she began to wet His feet with tears; and she wiped them with the hair of her head and kissed His feet and anointed them with the ointment (perfume).

Женщина встала сзади у ног Иисуса и, плача, обливала Его ноги слезами. Она стала вытирать Ему ноги своими волосами, целовала их и натирала ароматическим маслом.

39 N ow when the Pharisee who had invited Him saw it, he said to himself, If this Man were a prophet, He would surely know who and what sort of woman this is who is touching Him—for she is a notorious sinner (a social outcast, devoted to sin).

Когда фарисей, пригласивший Иисуса, увидел это, он подумал: «Если бы Этот Человек действительно был пророком, то Он бы знал, что женщина, которая к Нему прикасается, – грешница».

40 A nd Jesus, replying, said to him, Simon, I have something to say to you. And he answered, Teacher, say it.

Тогда Иисус сказал ему: – Симон, Я хочу тебе что-то сказать. – Говори, Учитель, – ответил тот.

41 A certain lender of money had two debtors: one owed him five hundred denarii, and the other fifty.

– Два человека были должны одному и тому же заимодавцу, – начал Иисус. – Один должен был пятьсот динариев, а другой – пятьдесят.

42 W hen they had no means of paying, he freely forgave them both. Now which of them will love him more?

И тому, и другому было нечем вернуть долг, и кредитор простил долг им обоим. Кто из них, по-твоему, будет больше любить его?

43 S imon answered, The one, I take it, for whom he forgave and cancelled more. And Jesus said to him, You have decided correctly.

Симон ответил: – Я думаю, тот, кому был прощен больший долг. – Ты правильно рассудил, – сказал Иисус.

44 T hen turning toward the woman, He said to Simon, Do you see this woman? When I came into your house, you gave Me no water for My feet, but she has wet My feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair.

И, повернувшись к женщине, сказал Симону: – Ты видишь эту женщину? Я пришел в твой дом, и ты не дал Мне даже воды, чтобы вымыть ноги, а она омыла Мои ноги слезами и вытерла своими волосами!

45 Y ou gave Me no kiss, but she from the moment I came in has not ceased '> intermittently] to kiss My feet tenderly and caressingly.

Ты даже не поцеловал Меня при встрече, а эта женщина, с тех пор как Я вошел в дом, не перестает целовать Мне ноги.

46 Y ou did not anoint My head with oil, but she has anointed My feet with perfume.

Ты не помазал Мне голову маслом, а она драгоценным ароматическим маслом помазала Мне ноги.

47 T herefore I tell you, her sins, many, are forgiven her—because she has loved much. But he who is forgiven little loves little.

Поэтому Я говорю тебе: ей прощены все грехи, из-за этого она и возлюбила так сильно. А тот, кому мало прощено, и любит мало.

48 A nd He said to her, Your sins are forgiven!

Потом Иисус сказал женщине: – Твои грехи прощены.

49 T hen those who were at table with Him began to say among themselves, Who is this Who even forgives sins?

Но другие гости, возлежащие за столом, начали переговариваться: – Кто Он такой, что даже грехи прощает?

50 B ut Jesus said to the woman, Your faith has saved you; go (enter) into peace '> in freedom from all the distresses that are experienced as the result of sin].

Иисус же сказал женщине: – Твоя вера спасла тебя, иди с миром.
