1 M y God, my God, why have You forsaken me? Why are You so far from helping me, and from the words of my groaning?

Dios mío, Dios mío, ¿por qué me has abandonado ? ¿ Por qué estás tan lejos de mi salvación y de las palabras de mi clamor ?

2 O my God, I cry in the daytime, but You answer not; and by night I am not silent or find no rest.

Dios mío, de día clamo y no respondes; Y de noche, pero no hay para mí reposo.

3 B ut You are holy, O You Who dwell in the praises of Israel.

Sin embargo, Tú eres santo, Que habitas entre las alabanzas de Israel.

4 O ur fathers trusted in You; they trusted (leaned on, relied on You, and were confident) and You delivered them.

En Ti confiaron nuestros padres; Confiaron, y Tú los libraste.

5 T hey cried to You and were delivered; they trusted in, leaned on, and confidently relied on You, and were not ashamed or confounded or disappointed.

A Ti clamaron, y fueron librados; En Ti confiaron, y no fueron decepcionados.

6 B ut I am a worm, and no man; I am the scorn of men, and despised by the people.

Pero yo soy gusano, y no hombre; Oprobio de los hombres, y despreciado del pueblo.

7 A ll who see me laugh at me and mock me; they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying,

Todos los que me ven, de mí se burlan; Hacen muecas con los labios, menean la cabeza, diciendo:

8 H e trusted and rolled himself on the Lord, that He would deliver him. Let Him deliver him, seeing that He delights in him!

Que se encomiende al Señor; que El lo libre; Que El lo rescate, puesto que en El se deleita.

9 Y et You are He Who took me out of the womb; You made me hope and trust when I was on my mother’s breasts.

Porque Tú me sacaste del seno materno; Me hiciste confiar estando a los pechos de mi madre.

10 I was cast upon You from my very birth; from my mother’s womb You have been my God.

A Ti fui entregado desde mi nacimiento; Desde el vientre de mi madre Tú eres mi Dios.

11 B e not far from me, for trouble is near and there is none to help.

No estés lejos de mí, porque la angustia está cerca, Pues no hay nadie que ayude.

12 M any bulls have surrounded me; strong bulls of Bashan have hedged me in.

Muchos toros me han rodeado; Toros fuertes de Basán me han cercado.

13 A gainst me they opened their mouths wide, like a ravening and roaring lion.

Avidos abren su boca contra mí, Como un león que despedaza y ruge.

14 I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint. My heart is like wax; it is softened and melted down within me.

Soy derramado como agua, Y todos mis huesos están descoyuntados; Mi corazón es como cera; Se derrite en medio de mis entrañas.

15 M y strength is dried up like a fragment of clay pottery; my tongue cleaves to my jaws; and You have brought me into the dust of death.

Como un tiesto se ha secado mi vigor, Y la lengua se me pega al paladar; Me has puesto en el polvo de la muerte.

16 F or dogs they have encompassed me; a company of evildoers has encircled me, they pierced my hands and my feet.

Porque perros me han rodeado; Me ha cercado cuadrilla de malhechores; Me horadaron las manos y los pies.

17 I can count all my bones; gaze at me.

Puedo contar todos mis huesos; Ellos me miran, me observan.

18 T hey part my clothing among them and cast lots for my raiment (a long, shirtlike garment, a seamless undertunic). )

19 B ut be not far from me, O Lord; O my Help, hasten to aid me!

Pero Tú, oh Señor, no estés lejos; Fuerza mía, apresúrate a socorrerme.

20 D eliver my life from the sword, my dear life from the power of the dog.

Libra mi alma de la espada, Mi única vida de las garras del perro.

21 S ave me from the lion’s mouth; for You have answered me from the horns of the wild oxen.

Sálvame de la boca del león Y de los cuernos de los búfalos; respóndeme.

22 I will declare Your name to my brethren; in the midst of the congregation will I praise You.

Hablaré de Tu nombre a mis hermanos; En medio de la congregación Te alabaré.

23 Y ou who fear (revere and worship) the Lord, praise Him! All you offspring of Jacob, glorify Him. Fear (revere and worship) Him, all you offspring of Israel.

Los que temen al Señor, alábenlo; Descendencia toda de Jacob, glorifíquenlo, Témanlo, descendencia toda de Israel.

24 F or He has not despised or abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither has He hidden His face from him, but when he cried to Him, He heard.

Porque El no ha despreciado ni aborrecido la aflicción del angustiado, Ni le ha escondido Su rostro; Sino que cuando clamó al Señor, lo escuchó.

25 M y praise shall be of You in the great congregation. I will pay to Him my vows before them who fear (revere and worship) Him.

De Ti viene mi alabanza en la gran congregación; Mis votos cumpliré delante de los que Le temen.

26 T he poor and afflicted shall eat and be satisfied; they shall praise the Lord—they who seek for, inquire of and for Him, and require Him. May your hearts be quickened now and forever!

Los pobres comerán y se saciarán; Los que buscan al Señor, Lo alabarán. ¡Viva para siempre el corazón de ustedes!

27 A ll the ends of the earth shall remember and turn to the Lord, and all the families of the nations shall bow down and worship before You,

Todos los términos de la tierra se acordarán y se volverán al Señor, Y todas las familias de las naciones adorarán delante de Ti.

28 F or the kingship and the kingdom are the Lord’s, and He is the ruler over the nations.

Porque del Señor es el reino, Y El gobierna las naciones.

29 A ll the mighty ones upon earth shall eat and worship; all they that go down to the dust shall bow before Him, even he who cannot keep himself alive.

Todos los grandes de la tierra comerán y adorarán; Se postrarán ante El todos los que descienden al polvo, Aun aquél que no puede conservar viva su alma.

30 P osterity shall serve Him; they shall tell of the Lord to the next generation.

La posteridad Le servirá; Esto se dirá del Señor hasta la generación venidera.

31 T hey shall come and shall declare His righteousness to a people yet to be born—that He has done it!

Vendrán y anunciarán Su justicia; A un pueblo por nacer, anunciarán que El ha hecho esto.
