1 A nd now let me remind you, brethren, of the Gospel (the glad tidings of salvation) which I proclaimed to you, which you welcomed and accepted and upon which your faith rests,

Ahora les hago saber, hermanos, el evangelio que les prediqué (anuncié), el cual también ustedes recibieron, en el cual también están firmes,

2 A nd by which you are saved, if you hold fast and keep firmly what I preached to you, unless you believed at first without effect and all for nothing.

por el cual también son salvos, si retienen la palabra que les prediqué (anuncié), a no ser que hayan creído en vano.

3 F or I passed on to you first of all what I also had received, that Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One) died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures,

Porque yo les entregué en primer lugar lo mismo que recibí: que Cristo (el Mesías) murió por nuestros pecados, conforme a las Escrituras;

4 T hat He was buried, that He arose on the third day as the Scriptures foretold,

que fue sepultado y que resucitó al tercer día, conforme a las Escrituras;

5 A nd that He appeared to Cephas (Peter), then to the Twelve.

que se apareció a Cefas (Pedro) y después a los doce.

6 T hen later He showed Himself to more than five hundred brethren at one time, the majority of whom are still alive, but some have fallen asleep.

Luego se apareció a más de 500 hermanos a la vez, la mayoría de los cuales viven aún, pero algunos ya duermen (murieron).

7 A fterward He was seen by James, then by all the apostles (the special messengers),

8 A nd last of all He appeared to me also, as to one prematurely and born dead '> no better than an unperfected fetus among living men].

Y al último de todos, como a uno nacido fuera de tiempo, se me apareció también a mí.

9 F or I am the least of the apostles, who am not fit or deserving to be called an apostle, because I once wronged and pursued and molested the church of God.

Porque yo soy el más insignificante de los apóstoles, que no soy digno de ser llamado apóstol, pues perseguí a la iglesia de Dios.

10 B ut by the grace (the unmerited favor and blessing) of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not for nothing (fruitless and without effect). In fact, I worked harder than all of them, though it was not really I, but the grace (the unmerited favor and blessing) of God which was with me.

Pero por la gracia de Dios soy lo que soy, y Su gracia para conmigo no resultó vana. Antes bien he trabajado mucho más que todos ellos, aunque no yo, sino la gracia de Dios en mí.

11 S o, whether then it was I or they, this is what we preach and this is what you believed.

Sin embargo, haya sido yo o ellos, así predicamos y así creyeron ustedes. Si Cristo no ha Resucitado

12 B ut now if Christ (the Messiah) is preached as raised from the dead, how is it that some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead?

Ahora bien, si se predica que Cristo (el Mesías) ha resucitado de entre los muertos, ¿cómo dicen algunos entre ustedes que no hay resurrección de muertos ?

13 B ut if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ has not risen;

Y si no hay resurrección de muertos, entonces ni siquiera Cristo ha resucitado;

14 A nd if Christ has not risen, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is devoid of truth and is fruitless (without effect, empty, imaginary, and unfounded).

y si Cristo no ha resucitado, vana es entonces nuestra predicación, y vana también la fe de ustedes.

15 W e are even discovered to be misrepresenting God, for we testified of Him that He raised Christ, Whom He did not raise in case it is true that the dead are not raised.

Aún más, somos hallados testigos falsos de Dios, porque hemos testificado contra Dios que El resucitó a Cristo, a quien no resucitó, si en verdad los muertos no resucitan.

16 F or if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised;

Porque si los muertos no resucitan, entonces ni siquiera Cristo ha resucitado;

17 A nd if Christ has not been raised, your faith is mere delusion, and you are still in your sins;

y si Cristo no ha resucitado, la fe de ustedes es falsa; todavía están en sus pecados.

18 A nd further, those who have died in '> spiritual fellowship and union with] Christ have perished (are lost)!

Entonces también los que han dormido (han muerto) en Cristo están perdidos.

19 I f we who are in Christ have hope only in this life and that is all, then we are of all people most miserable and to be pitied.

Si hemos esperado en Cristo para esta vida solamente, somos, de todos los hombres, los más dignos de lástima. Cristo, Garantía de la Resurrección

20 B ut the fact is that Christ (the Messiah) has been raised from the dead, and He became the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.

Pero ahora Cristo ha resucitado de entre los muertos, primicias de los que durmieron (murieron).

21 F or since through a man that death also through a Man that the resurrection of the dead.

Porque ya que la muerte entró por un hombre, también por un hombre vino la resurrección de los muertos.

22 F or just as '> union of nature] in Adam all people die, so also '> union of nature] shall all in Christ be made alive.

Porque así como en Adán todos mueren, también en Cristo todos serán vivificados.

23 B ut each in his own rank and turn: Christ (the Messiah) the firstfruits, then those who are Christ’s at His coming.

Pero cada uno en su debido orden: Cristo, las primicias; luego los que son de Cristo en Su venida.

24 A fter that comes the end (the completion), when He delivers over the kingdom to God the Father after rendering inoperative and abolishing every rule and every authority and power.

Entonces vendrá el fin, cuando El entregue el reino al Dios y Padre, después que haya terminado con todo dominio y toda autoridad y poder.

25 F or must be King and reign until He has put all enemies under His feet.

Pues Cristo debe reinar hasta que haya puesto a todos Sus enemigos debajo de Sus pies.

26 T he last enemy to be subdued and abolished is death.

Y el último enemigo que será eliminado es la muerte.

27 F or He has put all things in subjection under His feet. But when it says, All things are put in subjection, it is evident that He is excepted Who does the subjecting of all things to Him.

Porque Dios ha puesto todo en sujecion bajo Sus pies. Pero cuando dice que todas las cosas están sujetas a El, es evidente que se exceptúa a Aquél que ha sometido a El todas las cosas.

28 H owever, when everything is subjected to Him, then the Son Himself will also subject Himself to Who put all things under Him, so that God may be all in all.

Y cuando todo haya sido sometido a El, entonces también el Hijo mismo se sujetará a Aquél que sujetó a El todas las cosas, para que Dios sea todo en todos.

29 O therwise, what do people mean by being baptized in behalf of the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why are people baptized for them?

De no ser así, ¿qué harán los que se bautizan por los muertos? Si de ninguna manera los muertos resucitan, ¿por qué, entonces, se bautizan por ellos?

30 w hy do I live in peril every hour?

Y también, ¿por qué estamos en peligro a toda hora ?

31 b y the pride which I have in you in '> fellowship and union with] Christ Jesus our Lord, that I die daily.

Les aseguro, hermanos, por la satisfacción (gloria) que siento por ustedes en Cristo Jesús nuestro Señor, que cada día estoy en peligro de muerte.

32 W hat do I gain if, merely from the human point of view, I fought with beasts at Ephesus? If the dead are not raised, let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we will be dead.

Si por motivos humanos luché contra fieras en Efeso, ¿de qué me aprovecha? Si los muertos no resucitan, comamos y bebamos, que mañana moriremos.

33 D o not be so deceived and misled! Evil companionships (communion, associations) corrupt and deprave good manners and morals and character.

No se dejen engañar: “Las malas compañías corrompen las buenas costumbres.”

34 A wake '> from your drunken stupor and return] to sober sense and your right minds, and sin no more. For some of you have not the knowledge of God. I say this to your shame.

Sean sobrios, como conviene, y dejen de pecar; porque algunos no tienen conocimiento de Dios. Para vergüenza de ustedes lo digo. La Gloria del Cuerpo Resucitado

35 B ut someone will say, How can the dead be raised? With what body will they come forth?

Pero alguien dirá: “¿Cómo resucitan los muertos ? ¿Y con qué clase de cuerpo vienen?”

36 Y ou foolish man! Every time you plant seed, you sow something that does not come to life unless it dies first.

¡Necio! Lo que tú siembras no llega a tener vida si antes no muere.

37 N or is the seed you sow then the body which it is going to have, but it is a naked kernel, perhaps of wheat or some of the rest of the grains.

Y lo que siembras, no siembras el cuerpo que nacerá, sino el grano desnudo, quizás de trigo o de alguna otra especie.

38 B ut God gives to it the body that He plans and sees fit, and to each kind of seed a body of its own.

Pero Dios le da un cuerpo como El quiso, y a cada semilla su propio cuerpo.

39 F or all flesh is not the same, but there is one kind for humans, another for beasts, another for birds, and another for fish.

No toda carne es la misma carne, sino que una es la de los hombres, otra la de las bestias, otra la de las aves y otra la de los peces.

40 T here are heavenly bodies (sun, moon, and stars) and there are earthly bodies (men, animals, and plants), but the beauty and glory of the heavenly bodies is of one kind, while the beauty and glory of earthly bodies is a different kind.

Hay, asimismo, cuerpos celestiales y cuerpos terrestres, pero la gloria del celestial es una, y la del terrestre es otra.

41 T he sun is glorious in one way, the moon is glorious in another way, and the stars are glorious in their own way; for one star differs from and surpasses another in its beauty and brilliance.

Hay una gloria del sol, y otra gloria de la luna, y otra gloria de las estrellas; pues una estrella es distinta de otra estrella en gloria.

42 S o it is with the resurrection of the dead. that is sown is perishable and decays, but that is resurrected is imperishable (immune to decay, immortal).

Así es también la resurrección de los muertos. Se siembra un cuerpo corruptible, se resucita un cuerpo incorruptible;

43 I t is sown in dishonor and humiliation; it is raised in honor and glory. It is sown in infirmity and weakness; it is resurrected in strength and endued with power.

se siembra en deshonra, se resucita en gloria; se siembra en debilidad, se resucita en poder;

44 I t is sown a natural (physical) body; it is raised a supernatural (a spiritual) body. there is a physical body, there is also a spiritual body.

se siembra un cuerpo natural, se resucita un cuerpo espiritual. Si hay un cuerpo natural, hay también un cuerpo espiritual.

45 T hus it is written, The first man Adam became a living being (an individual personality); the last Adam (Christ) became a life-giving Spirit.

Así también está escrito: “El primer hombre, Adán, fue hecho alma viviente.” El último Adán, espíritu que da vida.

46 B ut it is not the spiritual life which came first, but the physical and then the spiritual.

Sin embargo, el espiritual no es primero, sino el natural; luego el espiritual.

47 T he first man from out of earth, made of dust (earthly-minded); the second Man the Lord from out of heaven.

El primer hombre es de la tierra, terrenal (hecho del polvo); el segundo hombre es del cielo.

48 N ow those who are made of the dust are like him who was first made of the dust (earthly-minded); and as is from heaven, so also who are of heaven (heavenly-minded).

Como es el terrenal, así son también los que son terrenales; y como es el celestial, así son también los que son celestiales.

49 A nd just as we have borne the image of dust, so shall we and so let us also bear the image of heaven.

Y tal como hemos traído la imagen del terrenal, traeremos también la imagen del celestial. La Victoria Final sobre la Muerte

50 B ut I tell you this, brethren, flesh and blood cannot inherit or share in the kingdom of God; nor does the perishable (that which is decaying) inherit or share in the imperishable (the immortal).

Esto digo, hermanos: que la carne y la sangre no pueden heredar el reino de Dios; ni lo que se corrompe hereda lo incorruptible.

51 T ake notice! I tell you a mystery (a secret truth, an event decreed by the hidden purpose or counsel of God). We shall not all fall asleep, but we shall all be changed (transformed)

Así que les digo un misterio: no todos dormiremos (moriremos), pero todos seremos transformados

52 I n a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet call. For a trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable (free and immune from decay), and we shall be changed (transformed).

en un momento, en un abrir y cerrar de ojos, a la trompeta final. Pues la trompeta sonará y los muertos resucitarán incorruptibles, y nosotros seremos transformados.

53 F or this perishable must put on the imperishable, and this mortal must put on immortality (freedom from death).

Porque es necesario que esto corruptible se vista de incorrupción, y esto mortal se vista de inmortalidad.

54 A nd when this perishable puts on the imperishable and this that was capable of dying puts on freedom from death, then shall be fulfilled the Scripture that says, Death is swallowed up (utterly vanquished forever) in and unto victory.

Pero cuando esto corruptible se haya vestido de incorrupción, y esto mortal se haya vestido de inmortalidad, entonces se cumplirá la palabra que está escrita: “ Devorada ha sido la muerte en victoria.

55 O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?

¿ Donde esta, oh muerte, tu victoria ? ¿ Donde, oh sepulcro, tu aguijon ?”

56 N ow sin is the sting of death, and sin exercises its power through the Law.

El aguijón de la muerte es el pecado, y el poder del pecado es la ley;

57 B ut thanks be to God, Who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

pero a Dios gracias, que nos da la victoria por medio de nuestro Señor Jesucristo.

58 T herefore, my beloved brethren, be firm (steadfast), immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing and being continually aware that your labor in the Lord is not futile.

Por tanto, mis amados hermanos, estén firmes, constantes, abundando siempre en la obra del Señor, sabiendo que su trabajo en el Señor no es en vano.
