1 I f then you have been raised with Christ, aim at and seek the that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.

Si ustedes, pues, han resucitado con Cristo, busquen las cosas de arriba, donde está Cristo sentado a la diestra de Dios.

2 A nd set your minds and keep them set on what is above (the higher things), not on the things that are on the earth.

Pongan la mira (la mente) en las cosas de arriba, no en las de la tierra.

3 F or you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

Porque ustedes han muerto, y su vida está escondida con Cristo en Dios.

4 W hen Christ, Who is our life, appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.

Cuando Cristo, nuestra vida, sea manifestado, entonces ustedes también serán manifestados con El en gloria. La Vida Vieja y la Vida Nueva

5 S o kill (deaden, deprive of power) the evil desire lurking in your members: sexual vice, impurity, sensual appetites, unholy desires, and all greed and covetousness, for that is idolatry (the deifying of self and other created things instead of God).

Por tanto, consideren los miembros de su cuerpo terrenal como muertos a la fornicación, la impureza, las pasiones, los malos deseos y la avaricia, que es idolatría.

6 I t is on account of these that the anger of God is ever coming upon the sons of disobedience (those who are obstinately opposed to the divine will),

Pues la ira de Dios vendrá sobre los hijos de desobediencia por causa de estas cosas,

7 A mong whom you also once walked, when you were living in and addicted to.

en las cuales ustedes también anduvieron en otro tiempo cuando vivían en ellas.

8 B ut now put away and rid yourselves of all these things: anger, rage, bad feeling toward others, curses and slander, and foulmouthed abuse and shameful utterances from your lips!

Pero ahora desechen también todo esto: ira, enojo, malicia, insultos, lenguaje ofensivo de su boca.

9 D o not lie to one another, for you have stripped off the old (unregenerate) self with its evil practices,

Dejen de mentirse los unos a los otros, puesto que han desechado al viejo hombre con sus malos hábitos,

10 A nd have clothed yourselves with the new, which is renewed and remolded into '> knowledge upon] knowledge after the image (the likeness) of Him Who created it.

y se han vestido del nuevo hombre, el cual se va renovando hacia un verdadero conocimiento, conforme a la imagen de Aquél que lo creó.

11 T here is no room for and there can be neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarians or Scythians '> who are the most savage of all], nor slave or free man; but Christ is all and in all '> everything and everywhere, to all men, without distinction of person].

En esta renovación no hay distinción entre Griego y Judío, circunciso e incircunciso, bárbaro (uno que no era Griego, ni por nacimiento ni por cultura), Escita, esclavo o libre, sino que Cristo (el Mesías) es todo, y en todos.

12 C lothe yourselves therefore, as God’s own chosen ones (His own picked representatives), purified and holy and well-beloved tenderhearted pity and mercy, kind feeling, a lowly opinion of yourselves, gentle ways, patience.

Entonces, ustedes como escogidos de Dios, santos y amados, revístanse de tierna compasión, bondad, humildad, mansedumbre y paciencia (tolerancia);

13 B e gentle and forbearing with one another and, if one has a difference (a grievance or complaint) against another, readily pardoning each other; even as the Lord has forgiven you, so must you also.

soportándose unos a otros y perdonándose unos a otros, si alguien tiene queja contra otro. Como Cristo los perdonó, así también háganlo ustedes.

14 A nd above all these love and enfold yourselves with the bond of perfectness.

Sobre todas estas cosas, vístanse de amor, que es el vínculo de la unidad (de la perfección).

15 A nd let the peace (soul harmony which comes) from Christ rule (act as umpire continually) in your hearts to which as one body you were also called. And be thankful (appreciative),.

Que la paz de Cristo reine en sus corazones, a la cual en verdad fueron llamados en un solo cuerpo; y sean agradecidos.

16 L et the word Christ (the Messiah) have its home and dwell in you in richness, as you teach and admonish and train one another in all insight and intelligence and wisdom psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, making melody to God with grace in your hearts.

Que la palabra de Cristo habite en abundancia en ustedes, con toda sabiduría enseñándose y amonestándose unos a otros con salmos, himnos y canciones espirituales, cantando a Dios con acción de gracias en sus corazones.

17 A nd whatever you do in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus and in His Person, giving praise to God the Father through Him.

Y todo lo que hagan, de palabra o de hecho, háganlo todo en el nombre del Señor Jesús, dando gracias por medio de El a Dios el Padre. Relaciones Sociales del Cristiano

18 W ives, be subject to your husbands, as is right and fitting and your proper duty in the Lord.

Mujeres, estén sujetas a sus maridos, como conviene en el Señor.

19 H usbands, love your wives and do not be harsh or bitter or resentful toward them.

Maridos, amen a sus mujeres y no sean ásperos con ellas.

20 C hildren, obey your parents in everything, for this is pleasing to the Lord.

Hijos, sean obedientes a sus padres en todo, porque esto es agradable al Señor.

21 F athers, do not provoke or irritate or fret your children, lest they become discouraged and sullen and morose and feel inferior and frustrated.

Padres, no exasperen a sus hijos, para que no se desalienten.

22 S ervants, obey in everything those who are your earthly masters, not only when their eyes are on you as pleasers of men, but in simplicity of purpose because of your reverence for the Lord and as a sincere expression of your devotion to Him.

Siervos, obedezcan en todo a sus amos en la tierra, no para ser vistos, como los que quieren agradar a los hombres, sino con sinceridad de corazón, temiendo al Señor.

23 W hatever may be your task, work at it heartily (from the soul), as for the Lord and not for men,

Todo lo que hagan, háganlo de corazón, como para el Señor y no para los hombres,

24 K nowing that it is from the Lord that you will receive the inheritance which is your reward. you are actually serving the Lord Christ (the Messiah).

sabiendo que del Señor recibirán la recompensa de la herencia. Es a Cristo el Señor a quien sirven.

25 F or he who deals wrongfully will be punished for his wrongdoing. And there is no partiality.

Porque el que procede con injusticia sufrirá las consecuencias del mal que ha cometido, y eso, sin acepción de personas.
