1 T he word which Isaiah son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.

Lo que vio Isaías, hijo de Amoz, con relación a Judá y Jerusalén.

2 I t shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established as the highest of the mountains and shall be exalted above the hills, and all nations shall flow to it.

Acontecerá en los postreros días, Que el monte de la casa del Señor Será establecido como cabeza de los montes. Se alzará sobre los collados, Y confluirán a él todas las naciones.

3 A nd many people shall come and say, Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob, that He may teach us His ways and that we may walk in His paths. For out of Zion shall go forth the law and instruction, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.

Vendrán muchos pueblos, y dirán: “Vengan, subamos al monte del Señor, A la casa del Dios de Jacob, Para que nos enseñe acerca de Sus caminos, Y andemos en Sus sendas.” Porque de Sion saldrá la ley (la instrucción), Y de Jerusalén la palabra del Señor.

4 A nd He shall judge between the nations and shall decide for many peoples; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

El juzgará entre las naciones, Y hará decisiones por muchos pueblos. Forjarán sus espadas en rejas de arado, Y sus lanzas en podaderas. No alzará espada nación contra nación, Ni se adiestrarán más para la guerra.

5 O house of Jacob, come, let us walk in the light of the Lord.

Casa de Jacob, vengan y caminemos a la luz del Señor.

6 S urely You have rejected and forsaken your people, the house of Jacob, because they are filled from the east and with soothsayers like the Philistines; also they strike hands and make pledges and agreements with the children of aliens.

Ciertamente has abandonado a Tu pueblo, la casa de Jacob, Porque están llenos de costumbres del oriente, Son adivinos como los Filisteos, Y hacen tratos con hijos de extranjeros.

7 T heir land also is full of silver and gold; neither is there any end to their treasures. Their land is also full of horses; neither is there any end to their chariots.

Se ha llenado su tierra de plata y de oro, Y no tienen fin sus tesoros. Su tierra se ha llenado de caballos, Y no tienen fin sus carros.

8 T heir land also is full of idols; they worship the work of their own hands, what their own fingers have made.

También su tierra se ha llenado de ídolos. Adoran la obra de sus manos, Lo que han hecho sus dedos.

9 A nd the common man is bowed down, also the great man is brought low and humbles himself—therefore forgive them not.

Ha sido humillado el hombre común, Y ha sido abatido el hombre de importancia; Pero no los perdones.

10 E nter into the rock and hide yourself in the dust from before the terror of the Lord and from the glory of His majesty.

Métete en la roca, y escóndete en el polvo Del terror del Señor y del esplendor de Su majestad.

11 T he proud looks of man shall be brought low, and the haughtiness of men shall be humbled; and the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day.

La mirada altiva del hombre será abatida, Y humillada la soberbia de los hombres. Sólo el Señor será exaltado en aquel día.

12 F or there shall be a day of the Lord of hosts against all who are proud and haughty and against all who are lifted up—and they shall be brought low—

Porque el día del Señor de los ejércitos vendrá Contra todo el que es soberbio y orgulloso, Contra todo el que se ha ensalzado, Y serán abatidos.

13 a gainst all the cedars of Lebanon that are high and lifted up, and against all the oaks of Bashan,

Y esto será contra todos los cedros del Líbano Altos y erguidos, Contra todas las encinas de Basán,

14 A nd against all the high mountains and all the hills that are lifted up,

Contra todos los montes encumbrados, Contra todos los collados elevados,

15 A nd against every high tower and every fenced wall,

Contra toda torre alta, Contra toda muralla fortificada,

16 A nd against all the ships of Tarshish and all the picturesque and desirable imagery.

Contra todas las naves de Tarsis Y contra toda obra de arte preciada.

17 T hen the loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be brought low; and the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day.

Será humillado el orgullo del hombre Y abatido el orgullo de los hombres. Sólo el Señor será exaltado en aquel día,

18 A nd the idols shall utterly pass away (be abolished).

Y los ídolos desaparecerán por completo.

19 T hen shall go into the caves of the rocks and into the holes of the earth from before the terror and dread of the Lord and from before the glory of His majesty, when He arises to shake mightily and terribly the earth.

Los hombres se meterán en las cuevas de las rocas Y en las hendiduras de la tierra, Ante el terror del Señor Y ante el esplendor de Su majestad, Cuando El se levante para hacer temblar la tierra.

20 I n that day men shall cast away to the moles and to the bats their idols of silver and their idols of gold, which they made for themselves to worship,

Aquel día el hombre arrojará a los topos y a los murciélagos, Sus ídolos de plata y sus ídolos de oro Que se había hecho para adorar los.

21 T o go into the caverns of the rocks and into the clefts of the ragged rocks from before the terror and dread of the Lord and from before the glory of His majesty, when He rises to shake mightily and terribly the earth.

Y se meterá en las cavernas de las rocas y en las hendiduras de las peñas, Ante el terror del Señor y ante el esplendor de Su majestad, Cuando El se levante para hacer temblar la tierra.

22 C ease to trust in man, whose breath is in his nostrils; in what sense can he be counted as having intrinsic worth?

Dejen de considerar al hombre, cuyo soplo de vida está en su nariz. Pues ¿en qué ha de ser él estimado ?
