1 T his is the history of the generations (descendants) of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth. The sons born to them after the flood were:

2 T he sons of Japheth: Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras.

3 T he sons of Gomer: Ashkenaz, Riphath, and Togarmah.

6 T he sons of Ham: Cush, Egypt, Put, and Canaan.

Fiii lui Ham au fost: Cuş, Miţraim, Put şi Canaan. -

7 T he sons of Cush: Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, and Sabteca; and the sons of Raamah: Sheba and Dedan.

8 C ush became the father of Nimrod; he was the first to be a mighty man on the earth.

9 H e was a mighty hunter before the Lord; therefore it is said, Like Nimrod, a mighty hunter before the Lord.

10 T he beginning of his kingdom was Babel, Erech, Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.

11 O ut of the land he went forth into Assyria and built Nineveh, Rehoboth-Ir, Calah,

Din ţara aceasta a intrat în Asiria; a zidit Ninive, Rehobot-Ir, Calah

12 A nd Resen, which is between Nineveh and Calah; all these the great city.

13 A nd Egypt became the father of Ludim, Anamim, Lehabim, Naphtuhim,

15 C anaan became the father of Sidon his firstborn, Heth,

17 T he Hivites, the Arkites, the Sinites,

18 T he Arvadites, the Zemarites and the Hamathites. Afterward the families of the Canaanites spread abroad

19 A nd the territory of the Canaanites extended from Sidon as one goes to Gerar as far as Gaza, and as one goes to Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboiim, as far as Lasha.

Hotarele Cananiţilor se întindeau dela Sidon, cum mergi spre Gherar, pînă la Gaza, şi cum mergi spre Sodoma, Gomora, Adma şi Ţeboim, pînă la Leşa.

20 T hese are the sons of Ham by their families, their languages, their lands, and their nations.

Aceştia sînt fiii lui Ham, după familiile lor, după limbile lor, după ţările lor, după neamurile lor.

21 T o Shem also, the younger brother of Japheth and the ancestor of all the children of Eber, children were born.

Şi lui Sem, tatăl tuturor fiilor lui Eber, şi fratele cel mai mare al lui Iafet, i s'au născut fii.

22 T he sons of Shem: Elam, Asshur, Arpachshad, Lud, and Aram.

Fiii lui Sem au fost: Elam, Asur, Arpacşad, Lud şi Aram.

23 T he sons of Aram: Uz, Hul, Gether, and Mash.

Fii lui Aram: Uţ, Hul, Gheter şi Maş.

24 A rpachshad became the father of Shelah; and Shelah became the father of Eber.

25 T o Eber were born two sons: the name of one was Peleg, because the earth were divided up in his days; and his brother’s name was Joktan.

26 J oktan became the father of Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah,

31 T hese are Shem’s descendants by their families, their languages, their lands, and their nations.

Aceştia sînt fiii lui Sem, după familiile lor, după limbile lor, după ţările lor, după neamurile lor.

32 T hese are the families of the sons of Noah, according to their generations, within their nations; and from these the nations spread abroad on the earth after the flood.

Acestea sînt familiile fiilor lui Noe, după spiţa neamului lor, după neamurile lor. Şi din ei au ieşit neamurile cari s'au răspîndit pe pămînt după potop.
