1 T ransgression speaks to the wicked deep in his heart. There is no fear or dread of God before his eyes.

To the Overseer. -- By a servant of Jehovah, by David. The transgression of the wicked Is affirming within my heart, `Fear of God is not before his eyes,

2 F or he flatters and deceives himself in his own eyes that his iniquity will not be found out and be hated.

For he made smooth to himself in his eyes, To find his iniquity to be hated.

3 T he words of his mouth are wrong and deceitful; he has ceased to be wise and to do good.

The words of his mouth iniquity and deceit, He ceased to act prudently -- to do good.

4 H e plans wrongdoing on his bed; he sets himself in a way that is not good; he does not reject or despise evil.

Iniquity he deviseth on his bed, He stationeth himself on a way not good, Evil he doth not refuse.'

5 Y our mercy and loving-kindness, O Lord, extend to the skies, and Your faithfulness to the clouds.

O Jehovah, in the heavens Thy kindness, Thy faithfulness unto the clouds.

6 Y our righteousness is like the mountains of God, Your judgments are like the great deep. O Lord, You preserve man and beast.

Thy righteousness as mountains of God, Thy judgments a great deep. Man and beast Thou savest, O Jehovah.

7 H ow precious is Your steadfast love, O God! The children of men take refuge and put their trust under the shadow of Your wings.

How precious Thy kindness, O God, And the sons of men In the shadow of Thy wings do trust.

8 T hey relish and feast on the abundance of Your house; and You cause them to drink of the stream of Your pleasures.

They are filled from the fatness of Thy house, And the stream of Thy delights Thou dost cause them to drink.

9 F or with You is the fountain of life; in Your light do we see light.

For with Thee a fountain of life, In Thy light we see light.

10 O continue Your loving-kindness to those who know You, Your righteousness (salvation) to the upright in heart.

Draw out Thy kindness to those knowing Thee, And Thy righteousness to the upright of heart.

11 L et not the foot of pride overtake me, and let not the hand of the wicked drive me away.

Let not a foot of pride meet me, And a hand of the wicked let not move me.

12 T here the workers of iniquity fall and lie prostrate; they are thrust down and shall not be able to rise.

There have workers of iniquity fallen, They have been overthrown, And have not been able to arise!
