1 T his is the book (the written record, the history) of the generations of the offspring of Adam. When God created man, He made him in the likeness of God.

This an account of the births of Adam: In the day of God's preparing man, in the likeness of God He hath made him;

2 H e created them male and female and blessed them and named them Adam at the time they were created.

a male and a female He hath prepared them, and He blesseth them, and calleth their name Man, in the day of their being prepared.

3 W hen Adam had lived 130 years, he had a son in his own likeness, after his image; and he named him Seth.

And Adam liveth an hundred and thirty years, and begetteth in his likeness, according to his image, and calleth his name Seth.

4 A fter he had Seth, Adam lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters.

And the days of Adam after his begetting Seth are eight hundred years, and he begetteth sons and daughters.

5 S o altogether Adam lived 930 years, and he died.

And all the days of Adam which he lived are nine hundred and thirty years, and he dieth.

6 W hen Seth was 105 years old, Enosh was born.

And Seth liveth an hundred and five years, and begetteth Enos.

7 S eth lived after the birth of Enosh 807 years and had other sons and daughters.

And Seth liveth after his begetting Enos eight hundred and seven years, and begetteth sons and daughters.

8 S o Seth lived 912 years, and he died.

And all the days of Seth are nine hundred and twelve years, and he dieth.

9 W hen Enosh was 90 years old, Kenan was born to him.

And Enos liveth ninety years, and begetteth Cainan.

10 E nosh lived after the birth of Kenan 815 years and had other sons and daughters.

And Enos liveth after his begetting Cainan eight hundred and fifteen years, and begetteth sons and daughters.

11 S o Enosh lived 905 years, and he died.

And all the days of Enos are nine hundred and five years, and he dieth.

12 W hen Kenan was 70 years old, Mahalalel was born.

And Cainan liveth seventy years, and begetteth Mahalaleel.

13 K enan lived after the birth of Mahalalel 840 years and had other sons and daughters.

And Cainan liveth after his begetting Mahalaleel eight hundred and forty years, and begetteth sons and daughters.

14 S o Kenan lived 910 years, and he died.

And all the days of Cainan are nine hundred and ten years, and he dieth.

15 W hen Mahalalel was 65 years old, Jared was born.

And Mahalaleel liveth five and sixty years, and begetteth Jared.

16 M ahalalel lived after the birth of Jared 830 years and had other sons and daughters.

And Mahalaleel liveth after his begetting Jared eight hundred and thirty years, and begetteth sons and daughters.

17 S o Mahalalel lived 895 years, and he died.

And all the days of Mahalaleel are eight hundred and ninety and five years, and he dieth.

18 W hen Jared was 162 years old, Enoch was born.

And Jared liveth an hundred and sixty and two years, and begetteth Enoch.

19 J ared lived after the birth of Enoch 800 years and had other sons and daughters.

And Jared liveth after his begetting Enoch eight hundred years, and begetteth sons and daughters.

20 S o Jared lived 962 years, and he died.

And all the days of Jared are nine hundred and sixty and two years, and he dieth.

21 W hen Enoch was 65 years old, Methuselah was born.

And Enoch liveth five and sixty years, and begetteth Methuselah.

22 E noch walked with God after the birth of Methuselah 300 years and had other sons and daughters.

And Enoch walketh habitually with God after his begetting Methuselah three hundred years, and begetteth sons and daughters.

23 S o all the days of Enoch were 365 years.

And all the days of Enoch are three hundred and sixty and five years.

24 A nd Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him.

And Enoch walketh habitually with God, and he is not, for God hath taken him.

25 W hen Methuselah was 187 years old, Lamech was born to him.

And Methuselah liveth an hundred and eighty and seven years, and begetteth Lamech.

26 M ethuselah lived after the birth of Lamech 782 years and had other sons and daughters.

And Methuselah liveth after his begetting Lamech seven hundred and eighty and two years, and begetteth sons and daughters.

27 S o Methuselah lived 969 years, and he died.

And all the days of Methuselah are nine hundred and sixty and nine years, and he dieth.

28 W hen Lamech was 182 years old, a son was born.

And Lamech liveth an hundred and eighty and two years, and begetteth a son,

29 H e named him Noah, saying, This one shall bring us relief and comfort from our work and the toil of our hands due to the ground being cursed by the Lord.

and calleth his name Noah, saying, `This doth comfort us concerning our work, and concerning the labour of our hands, because of the ground which Jehovah hath cursed.'

30 L amech lived after the birth of Noah 595 years and had other sons and daughters.

And Lamech liveth after his begetting Noah five hundred and ninety and five years, and begetteth sons and daughters.

31 S o all the days of Lamech were 777 years, and he died.

And all the days of Lamech are seven hundred and seventy and seven years, and he dieth.

32 A fter Noah was 500 years old, he became the father of Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

And Noah is a son of five hundred years, and Noah begetteth Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
