1 N ow I introduce and commend to you our sister Phoebe, a deaconess of the church at Cenchreae,

And I commend you to Phebe our sister -- being a ministrant of the assembly that in Cenchrea --

2 T hat you may receive her in the Lord, as saints (God’s people) ought to receive one another. And help her in whatever matter she may require assistance from you, for she has been a helper of many including myself.

that ye may receive her in the Lord, as doth become saints, and may assist her in whatever matter she may have need of you -- for she also became a leader of many, and of myself.

3 G ive my greetings to Prisca and Aquila, my fellow workers in Christ Jesus,

Salute Priscilla and Aquilas, my fellow-workmen in Christ Jesus --

4 W ho risked their lives for my life. To them not only I but also all the churches among the Gentiles give thanks.

who for my life their own neck did lay down, to whom not only I give thanks, but also all the assemblies of the nations --

5 a lso to the church in their house. Greet my beloved Epaenetus, who was a firstfruit (first convert) to Christ in Asia.

and the assembly at their house; salute Epaenetus, my beloved, who is first-fruit of Achaia to Christ.

6 G reet Mary, who has worked so hard among you.

Salute Mary, who did labour much for us;

7 R emember me to Andronicus and Junias, my tribal kinsmen and once my fellow prisoners. They are men held in high esteem among the apostles, who also were in Christ before I was.

salute Andronicus and Junias, my kindred, and my fellow-captives, who are of note among the apostles, who also have been in Christ before me.

8 R emember me to Ampliatus, my beloved in the Lord.

Salute Amplias, my beloved in the Lord;

9 S alute Urbanus, our fellow worker in Christ, and my dear Stachys.

salute Arbanus, our fellow-workman in Christ, and Stachys, my beloved;

10 G reet Apelles, that one tried and approved in Christ (the Messiah). Remember me to those who belong to the household of Aristobulus.

11 G reet my tribal kinsman Herodion, and those in the Lord who belong to the household of Narcissus.

salute Herodion, my kinsman; salute those of the of Narcissus, who are in the Lord;

12 S alute those workers in the Lord, Tryphaena and Tryphosa. Greet my dear Persis, who has worked so hard in the Lord.

salute Tryphaena, and Tryphosa, who are labouring in the Lord; salute Persis, the beloved, who did labour much in the Lord.

13 R emember me to Rufus, eminent in the Lord, also to his mother a mother to me as well.

Salute Rufus, the choice one in the Lord, and his mother and mine,

14 G reet Asyncritus, Phlegon, Hermes, Patrobas, Hermas, and the brethren who are with them.

salute Asyncritus, Phlegon, Hermas, Patrobas, Hermes, and the brethren with them;

15 G reet Philologus, Julia, Nereus and his sister, and Olympas, and all the saints who are with them.

16 G reet one another with a holy (consecrated) kiss. All the churches of Christ (the Messiah) wish to be remembered to you.

salute one another in a holy kiss; the assemblies of Christ do salute you.

17 I appeal to you, brethren, to be on your guard concerning those who create dissensions and difficulties and cause divisions, in opposition to the doctrine (the teaching) which you have been taught. avoid them.

And I call upon you, brethren, to mark those who the divisions and the stumbling-blocks, contrary to the teaching that ye did learn, are causing, and turn ye away from them;

18 F or such persons do not serve our Lord Christ but their own appetites and base desires, and by ingratiating and flattering speech, they beguile the hearts of the unsuspecting and simpleminded.

for such our Lord Jesus Christ do not serve, but their own belly; and through the good word and fair speech they deceive the hearts of the harmless,

19 F or while your loyalty and obedience is known to all, so that I rejoice over you, I would have you well versed and wise as to what is good and innocent and guileless as to what is evil.

for your obedience did reach to all; I rejoice, therefore, as regards you, and I wish you to be wise, indeed, as to the good, and harmless as to the evil;

20 A nd the God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah) be with you.

and the God of the peace shall bruise the Adversary under your feet quickly; the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ with you. Amen!

21 T imothy, my fellow worker, wishes to be remembered to you, as do Lucius and Jason and Sosipater, my tribal kinsmen.

Salute you do Timotheus, my fellow-workman, and Lucius, and Jason, and Sosipater, my kindred;

22 I , Tertius, the writer of this letter, greet you in the Lord.

I Tertius salute you (who wrote the letter) in the Lord;

23 G aius, who is host to me and to the whole church here, greets you. So do Erastus, the city treasurer, and our brother Quartus.

salute you doth Gaius, my host, and of the whole assembly; salute you doth Erastus, the steward of the city, and Quartus the brother,

24 T he grace of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah) be with you all. Amen (so be it).

25 N ow to Him Who is able to strengthen you in the faith which is in accordance with my Gospel and the preaching of (concerning) Jesus Christ (the Messiah), according to the revelation (the unveiling) of the mystery of the plan of redemption which was kept in silence and secret for long ages,

And to Him who is able to establish you, according to my good news, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the secret, in the times of the ages having been kept silent,

26 B ut is now disclosed and through the prophetic Scriptures is made known to all nations, according to the command of the eternal God, to obedience to the faith,

and now having been made manifest, also, through prophetic writings, according to a command of the age-during God, having been made known to all the nations for obedience of faith --

27 T o only wise God be glory forevermore through Jesus Christ (the Anointed One)! Amen (so be it).

to the only wise God, through Jesus Christ, to him glory to the ages. Amen.
