1 و َهَذا هُوَ سِجِلُّ نَسلِ آدَمَ. عِنْدَما خَلَقَ اللهُ آدَمَ، شَكَّلَهُ كَمِثالِ اللهِ.

This an account of the births of Adam: In the day of God's preparing man, in the likeness of God He hath made him;

2 و َخَلَقَ اللهُ النَّاسَ ذَكَراً وَأُنْثَى. وَسَمّاهُمْ أُناساً يَوْمَ خَلَقَهُمْ.

a male and a female He hath prepared them, and He blesseth them, and calleth their name Man, in the day of their being prepared.

3 و َبَعْدَ أنْ صارَ لِآدَمَ مِئَةٌ وَثَلاثُونَ سَنَةً مِنَ العُمْرِ، أنجَبَ ابْناً آخَرَ كَمِثالِهِ وَصُورَتِهِ، سَمّاهُ شِيثاً.

And Adam liveth an hundred and thirty years, and begetteth in his likeness, according to his image, and calleth his name Seth.

4 و َعاشَ آدَمُ ثَمانِي مِئَةِ سَنَةٍ بَعْدَ وِلادَةِ شِيثٍ. وَفِي هَذِهِ الفَتْرَةِ أنجَبَ أبْناءً وَبَناتٍ.

And the days of Adam after his begetting Seth are eight hundred years, and he begetteth sons and daughters.

5 ف َكانَ مَجمُوعُ السَّنَواتِ الَّتِي عاشَها آدَمُ تِسْعَ مِئَةٍ وَثَلاثِينَ سَنَةً، وَبَعْدَها ماتَ.

And all the days of Adam which he lived are nine hundred and thirty years, and he dieth.

6 و َعاشَ شِيثٌ مِئَةً وَخَمْسَ سِنِينٍ، وَأنجَبَ أنُوشَ.

And Seth liveth an hundred and five years, and begetteth Enos.

7 و َعاشَ شِيثٌ ثَمانِي مِئَةٍ وَسَبْعَ سِنِينَ بَعْدَ وِلادَةِ أنُوشَ. وَفِي هَذِهِ الفَتْرَةِ أنجَبَ أبْناءً وَبَناتٍ.

And Seth liveth after his begetting Enos eight hundred and seven years, and begetteth sons and daughters.

8 ف َكانَ مَجمُوعُ السَّنَواتِ الَّتِي عاشَها شِيثٌ تِسْعَ مِئَةٍ وَاثْنَتَي عَشْرَةَ سَنَةً، وَبَعْدَ ذَلِكَ ماتَ.

And all the days of Seth are nine hundred and twelve years, and he dieth.

9 و َعاشَ أنُوشُ تِسْعِينَ سَنَةً، وَأنجَبَ ابْناً سَمَّاهُ قِينانُ.

And Enos liveth ninety years, and begetteth Cainan.

10 و َبَعدَ وِلادَةِ قِينانَ عاشَ أنُوشُ ثَمانِي مِئَةٍ وَخَمْسَ عَشْرَةَ سَنَةً. وَفِي هَذِهِ الفَتْرَةِ أنجَبَ أبْناءً وَبَناتٍ.

And Enos liveth after his begetting Cainan eight hundred and fifteen years, and begetteth sons and daughters.

11 ف َكانَ مَجمُوعُ السَّنَواتِ الَّتِي عاشَها أنُوشُ تِسْعَ مِئَةٍ وَخَمْسَ سَنَواتٍ، وَبَعدَ ذَلِكَ ماتَ.

And all the days of Enos are nine hundred and five years, and he dieth.

12 و َعاشَ قِينانُ سَبْعِينَ سَنَةً، ثُمَّ أنجَبَ مَهلَلْئِيلَ.

And Cainan liveth seventy years, and begetteth Mahalaleel.

13 و َبَعْدَ وِلادَةِ مَهلَلْئِيلَ عاشَ قِينانُ ثَمانِي مِئَةٍ وَأربَعِينَ سَنَةً. وَفِي هَذِهِ الفَتْرَةِ أنجَبَ أبْناءً وَبَناتٍ.

And Cainan liveth after his begetting Mahalaleel eight hundred and forty years, and begetteth sons and daughters.

14 ف َكانَ مَجمُوعُ السَّنَواتِ الَّتِي عاشَها قِينانُ تِسْعَ مِئَةٍ وَعَشْرَ سِنِينَ، وَبَعدَ ذَلِكَ ماتَ.

And all the days of Cainan are nine hundred and ten years, and he dieth.

15 و َعاشَ مَهلَلْئِيلُ خَمْساً وَسِتِّينَ سَنَةً، ثُمَّ أنجَبَ ابْناً أسْماهُ يارَدَ.

And Mahalaleel liveth five and sixty years, and begetteth Jared.

16 و َبَعدَ وِلادَةِ يارَدَ عاشَ مَهلَلْئِيلُ ثَمانِي مِئَةٍ وَثَلاثِينَ سَنَةً. وَفِي هَذِهِ الفَتْرَةِ أنجَبَ أبْناءً وَبَناتٍ.

And Mahalaleel liveth after his begetting Jared eight hundred and thirty years, and begetteth sons and daughters.

17 ف َكانَ مَجمُوعُ السَّنَواتِ الَّتِي عاشَها مَهلَلْئِيلُ ثَمانِي مِئَةٍ وَخَمْساً وَتِسْعِينَ سَنَةً، وَبَعْدَ ذَلِكَ ماتَ.

And all the days of Mahalaleel are eight hundred and ninety and five years, and he dieth.

18 و َعاشَ يارَدُ مِئَةً وَاثْنَتَينِ وِسِتِّينَ سَنَةً، ثُمَّ أنجَبَ ابْناً أسْماهُ أخنُوخَ.

And Jared liveth an hundred and sixty and two years, and begetteth Enoch.

19 و َبَعْدَ وِلادَةِ أخنُوخَ عاشَ يارَدُ ثَمانِي مِئَةِ سَنَةٍ. وَفِي هَذِهِ الفَتْرَةِ أنجَبَ أبْناءً وَبَناتٍ.

And Jared liveth after his begetting Enoch eight hundred years, and begetteth sons and daughters.

20 ف َكانَ مَجمُوعُ السَّنَواتِ الَّتِي عاشَها يارَدُ تِسْعَ مِئَةٍ وَاثْنَتَينِ وَسِتِّينَ سَنَةً، وَبَعدَ ذَلِكَ ماتَ.

And all the days of Jared are nine hundred and sixty and two years, and he dieth.

21 و َعاشَ أخنُوخُ خَمْساً وَسِتِّينَ سَنَةً، ثُمَّ أنجَبَ ابْناً أسْماهُ مَتُوشالَحَ.

And Enoch liveth five and sixty years, and begetteth Methuselah.

22 و َبَعْدَ وِلادَةِ مَتُوشالَحَ سارَ أخنُوخُ فِي طَرِيقِ اللهِ ثَلاثَ مِئَةِ سَنَةٍ. وَفِي هَذِهِ الأثْناءِ أنجَبَ أبْناءً وَبَناتٍ.

And Enoch walketh habitually with God after his begetting Methuselah three hundred years, and begetteth sons and daughters.

23 ف َكانَ مَجْمُوعُ السَّنَواتِ الَّتِي عاشَها أخنُوخُ ثَلاثَ مِئَةٍ وَخَمْساً وَسِتِّينَ سَنَةً.

And all the days of Enoch are three hundred and sixty and five years.

24 و َسارَ أخنُوخُ مَعَ اللهِ، ثُمَّ اختَفَى، لأنَّ اللهَ رَفَعَهُ إلَيهِ.

And Enoch walketh habitually with God, and he is not, for God hath taken him.

25 و َعاشَ مَتُوشالَحُ مِئَةً وَسَبْعاً وَثَمانِينَ سَنَةً، ثُمَّ أنجَبَ ابْناً أسْماهُ لامَكَ.

And Methuselah liveth an hundred and eighty and seven years, and begetteth Lamech.

26 و َبَعْدَ وِلادَةِ لامَكَ، عاشَ مَتُوشالَحُ سَبْعَ مِئَةٍ وَاثْنَتَينِ وَثَمانِينَ سَنَةً. وَفِي هَذِهِ الفَتْرَةِ أنجَبَ أبْناءً وَبَناتٍ.

And Methuselah liveth after his begetting Lamech seven hundred and eighty and two years, and begetteth sons and daughters.

27 ف َكانَ مَجْمُوعُ السَّنَواتِ الَّتِي عاشَها مَتُوشالَحُ تِسْعَ مِئَةٍ وَتِسْعاً وَسِتِّينَ سَنَةً، ثُمَّ ماتَ.

And all the days of Methuselah are nine hundred and sixty and nine years, and he dieth.

28 و َعاشَ لامَكُ مِئَةً وَاثْنَتَينِ وَثَمانِينَ سَنَةً، ثُمَّ أنجَبَ ابْناً.

And Lamech liveth an hundred and eighty and two years, and begetteth a son,

29 و َسَمَّى لامَكُ ابْنَهُ نُوحَ وَقالَ: «لَيتَ ابْنِي هَذا يُرِيحُنا مِنْ كُلِّ عَمَلِنا وَمِنْ كُلِّ تَعَبٍ أيضاً بِسَبَبِ اللَّعْنَةِ الَّتِي وَضَعَها اللهُ عَلَى الأرْضِ.»

and calleth his name Noah, saying, `This doth comfort us concerning our work, and concerning the labour of our hands, because of the ground which Jehovah hath cursed.'

30 و َبَعْدَ وِلادَةِ نُوحَ عاشَ لامَكُ خَمْسَ مِئَةٍ وَخَمْساً وَتِسْعِينَ سَنَةً. وَفِي هَذِهِ الفَتْرَةِ أنجَبَ أبْناءً وَبَناتٍ.

And Lamech liveth after his begetting Noah five hundred and ninety and five years, and begetteth sons and daughters.

31 ف َكانَ مَجمُوعُ السَّنَواتِ الَّتِي عاشَها لامَكُ سَبْعَ مِئَةٍ وَسَبْعاً وَسَبْعِينَ سَنَةً، ثُمَّ ماتَ.

And all the days of Lamech are seven hundred and seventy and seven years, and he dieth.

32 و َعاشَ نُوحُ خَمْسَ مِئَةِ سَنَةٍ، وَأنجَبَ سامَ وَحامَ وَيافَثَ.

And Noah is a son of five hundred years, and Noah begetteth Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
