1 ي َقُولُ الرُّوحُ القُدُسُ بِوُضُوحٍ إنَّهُ فِي أواخِرِ الأزمِنَةِ سَيَتَخَلَّى قَومٌ عَنِ الإيمانِ، وَسَيَتبَعُونَ أرواحاً مُضَلِّلَةً، وَتَعالِيمَ مَصدَرُها أرواحٌ شِرِّيْرَةٌ،

And the Spirit expressly speaketh, that in latter times shall certain fall away from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and teachings of demons,

2 ي َنشُرُها أشخاصٌ كَذَبَةٌ مُنافِقُونَ، وَكَأنَّ ضَمائِرَهُمْ قَدِ احتَرَقَتْ!

in hypocrisy speaking lies, being seared in their own conscience,

3 س َيُحَرِّمُونَ الزَّواجَ عَلَى أتباعِهِمْ، وَيَأمُرُونَهُمْ بِالِامتِناعِ عَنْ أطعِمَةٍ خَلَقَها اللهُ لِكَي يَتَناوَلَها المُؤمِنُونَ وَعارِفُو الحَقِّ شاكِرِيْنَ.

forbidding to marry -- to abstain from meats that God created to be received with thanksgiving by those believing and acknowledging the truth,

4 ف َكُلُّ ما خَلَقَهُ اللهُ صالِحٌ، وَلا يَنبَغي أنْ يُرفَضَ مِنهُ شَيءٌ، بَلْ أنْ يُقبَلَ مَعَ الشُّكرِ.

because every creature of God good, and nothing to be rejected, with thanksgiving being received,

5 ل ِأنَّهُ يُقَدَّسُ بِكَلِمَةِ اللهِ وَبِالصَّلاةِ. كُنْ خادِماً صالِحاً لِلمَسِيحِ يَسُوع

for it is sanctified through the word of God and intercession.

6 ف َإنْ بَيَّنتَ هَذِهِ الأُمُورَ لِلإخوَةِ، تَكُونُ خادِماً صالِحاً لِلمَسِيحِ يَسُوعَ. وَسَتُثبِتُ أيضاً أنَّكَ حَقّاً اتَّبَعتَ حَقائِقَ الإيمانِ وَالتَّعالِيمِ الصّالِحَةِ الَّتِي نَشَأْتَ عَلَيها.

These things placing before the brethren, thou shalt be a good ministrant of Jesus Christ, being nourished by the words of the faith, and of the good teaching, which thou didst follow after,

7 ل َكِنِ ارفُضِ الخُرافاتِ الدُّنيَوِيَّةَ الَّتِي تُشبِهُ قِصَصَ العَجائِزِ، وَتَدَرَّبْ دائِماً عَلَى عِبادَةِ اللهِ.

and the profane and old women's fables reject thou, and exercise thyself unto piety,

8 ف َلِلتَّدرِيبِ الجَسَدِيِّ قِيمَةٌ مَحدُودَةٌ، أمّا عِبادَةُ اللهِ فَلَها قِيمَةٌ مِنْ كُلِّ وَجهٍ، لِأنَّها تَعِدُ بِبَرَكاتٍ فِي الحَياةِ الحاضِرَةِ وَالمُستَقبَلَةِ أيضاً.

for the bodily exercise is unto little profit, and the piety is to all things profitable, a promise having of the life that now is, and of that which is coming;

9 و َهَذا قَولٌ جَدِيرٌ بِالثِّقَةِ وَمُستَحِقٌّ قَبُولاً كامِلاً:

stedfast the word, and of all acceptation worthy;

10 إ نَّنا نَتعَبُ وَنُناضِلُ لِأنَّنا وَضَعنا رَجاءَنا فِي اللهِ الحَيِّ، مُخَلِّصِ جَمِيعِ النّاسِ، وَخاصَّةً المُؤمِنِينَ.

for for this we both labour and are reproached, because we hope on the living God, who is Saviour of all men -- especially of those believing.

11 أ وصِ بِهَذا وَعَلِّمْ بِهِ.

Charge these things, and teach;

12 ل ا يَستَهِنْ بِكَ أحَدٌ بِسَبَبِ كَونِكَ شابّاً، بَلْ كُنْ قُدوَةً لِلمُؤمِنِينَ بِكَلامِكَ وَسُلُوكِكَ وَمَحَبَّتِكَ وَإيمانِكَ وَنَقاءِ حَياتِكَ.

let no one despise thy youth, but a pattern become thou of those believing in word, in behaviour, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity;

13 و َإلَى أنْ آتِيَ، وَاصِلْ قِراءَةَ كَلِمَةِ اللهِ، مِنْ أجلِ تَشجِيعِ المُؤمِنِينَ وَتَعلِيمِهِمْ.

till I come, give heed to the reading, to the exhortation, to the teaching;

14 و َلا تُهمِلْ مَوهِبَتَكَ الرُّوحِيَّةَ الَّتِي وُهِبَتْ لَكَ بِرِسالَةٍ نَبَوِيَّةٍ عِندَما وَضَعَ شُيُوخُ الكَنِيسَةِ أيدِيَهُمْ عَلَيكَ.

be not careless of the gift in thee, that was given thee through prophecy, with laying on of the hands of the eldership;

15 أ عطِ اهتِماماً كامِلاً لِهَذِهِ الأُمُورِ، وَانهَمِكْ فِيها تَماماً، لِكَي يَكُونَ تَقَدُّمُكَ بادِياً لِجَمِيعِ النّاسِ.

of these things be careful; in these things be, that thy advancement may be manifest in all things;

16 ا نتَبِه لِحَياتِكَ وَتَعلِيمِكَ. وَداوِمْ عَلَى ذَلِكَ، لِأنَّكَ بِهَذا تُخَلِّصُ نَفسَكَ وَالَّذِينَ يَسمَعُونَكَ.

take heed to thyself, and to the teaching; remain in them, for this thing doing, both thyself thou shalt save, and those hearing thee.
