1 و َقالَ اللهُ لِمُوسَى:

And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,

2 « قُلْ لِبَنِي إسْرائِيلَ: أنا إلَهُكُمْ.

`Speak unto the sons of Israel, and thou hast said unto them, I Jehovah your God;

3 ف َلا تَعمَلُوا الأشياءَ الَّتِي كانَتْ تُعمَلُ فِي أرْضِ مِصرَ حَيثُ كُنتُمْ تَسكُنُونَ. وَلا تَعمَلُوا الأُمُورَ الَّتِي تُعمَلُ فِي أرْضِ كَنعانَ حَيثُ سَأُحضِرُكُمْ. وَلا تَعِيشُوا بِحَسَبِ شَرائِعِهِمْ،

according to the work of the land of Egypt in which ye have dwelt ye do not, and according to the work of the land of Canaan whither I am bringing you in, ye do not, and in their statutes ye walk not.

4 ب َلِ احْفَظُوا أحكامِي وَاعْمَلُوا بِشَرائِعِي، لِكَي تَحيُوا بِها. أنا إلَهُكُمْ.

`My judgments ye do, and My statutes ye keep, to walk in them; I Jehovah your God;

5 ا حفَظُوا شَرائِعِي وَأحكامِي، لأنَّ الإنسانَ الَّذِي يَعْمَلُ ذَلِكَ يَحيا. أنا اللهُ.

and ye have kept My statutes and My judgments which man doth and liveth in them; I Jehovah.

6 « لا يُعاشِرْ أحَدٌ امْرأةً لَهُ بِها صِلَةُ قَرابَةٍ شَدِيدَةٌ. أنا اللهُ.

`None of you unto any relation of his flesh doth draw near to uncover nakedness; I Jehovah.

7 ل ا تَأتِيَ بِالعارِ لِأبِيكَ بِأنْ تُعاشِرَ أُمَّكَ! إنَّها أُمُّكَ! فَلا تُعاشِرْها.

`The nakedness of thy father and the nakedness of thy mother thou dost not uncover, she thy mother; thou dost not uncover her nakedness.

8 ل ا تُعاشِرْ زَوجَةَ أبِيكَ، فَهَذا يَأتِي بِالعارِ إلَى أبِيكَ.

`The nakedness of the wife of thy father thou dost not uncover; it the nakedness of thy father.

9 ل ا تُعاشِرْ أُختَكَ، لا بِنتَ أُمِّكَ وَلا بِنتَ أبِيكَ، إنْ كانَتْ قَدْ وُلِدَتْ فِي نَفسِ البَيتِ أوْ فِي بَيتٍ آخَرَ.

`The nakedness of thy sister, daughter of thy father, or daughter of thy mother, born at home or born without; thou dost not uncover their nakedness.

10 ل ا تُعاشِرِ ابْنَةَ ابْنِكَ أوِ ابْنَةَ ابْنَتِكَ لِأنَّ هَذا سَيَأتِي بِالعارِ عَلَيكَ.

`The nakedness of thy son's daughter, or of thy daughter's daughter: thou dost not uncover their nakedness; for theirs thy nakedness.

11 ل ا تُعاشِرِ ابْنَةَ زَوجَةَ أبِيكَ الَّتِي أنجَبَتْها مِنْ أبِيكَ، فَهِيَ أُختُكَ.

`The nakedness of a daughter of thy father's wife, begotten of thy father, she thy sister; thou dost not uncover her nakedness.

12 ل ا تُعاشِرْ أُختَ أبِيكَ، فَهِيَ قَرِيبَةٌ جِدّاً لِأبِيكَ.

`The nakedness of a sister of thy father thou dost not uncover; she a relation of thy father.

13 ل ا تُعاشِرْ أُختَ أُمِّكَ، فَهِيَ قَرِيبَةٌ جِدّاً لِأُمِّكَ.

`The nakedness of thy mother's sister thou dost not uncover; for she thy mother's relation.

14 ل ا تُعاشِرْ زَوجَةَ عَمِّكَ، فَهَذا يَأتِي بِالعارِ عَلَى عَمِّكَ، إنَّها عَمَّتُكَ.

`The nakedness of thy father's brother thou dost not uncover; unto his wife thou dost not draw near; she thine aunt.

15 ل ا تُعاشِرْ كِنَّتَكَ. إنَّها زَوجَةُ ابْنِكَ، فَلا تُعاشِرْها.

`The nakedness of thy daughter-in-law thou dost not uncover; she thy son's wife; thou dost not uncover her nakedness.

16 ل ا تُعاشِرِ ابْنَةَ زَوجَةِ أخِيكَ، فَهَذا يَأتِي بِالعارِ عَلَى أخِيكَ.

`The nakedness of thy brother's wife thou dost not uncover; it thy brother's nakedness.

17 ل ا تُعاشِرِ امْرأةً وَابْنَتَها. وَلا تَتَزَوَّجْ وَتُعاشِرِ ابْنَةَ ابْنِها أوِ ابْنَةَ ابْنَتِها. إنَّهُما قَرِيبَتانِ جِدّاً لَها. هَذا شَرٌّ.

`The nakedness of a woman and her daughter thou dost not uncover; her son's daughter, and her daughter's daughter thou dost not take to uncover her nakedness; they her relations; it wickedness.

18 ل ا تَتَزَوَّجْ أُخْتَ زَوجَتِكَ وَتُعاشِرْها بَينَما أُختُها حَيَّةً.

`And a woman unto another thou dost not take, to be an adversary, to uncover her nakedness beside her, in her life.

19 ل ا تُعاشِرِ امْرَأتَكَ فِي فَترَةِ حَيضِها الشَّهرِيَّةِ إذْ تَكُونُ نَجِسَةً.

`And unto a woman in the separation of her uncleanness thou dost not draw near to uncover her nakedness.

20 ل ا تُعاشِرْ زَوجَةَ جارِكَ فَتُنَجِّسَ نَفسَكَ بِها.

`And unto the wife of thy fellow thou dost not give thy seed of copulation, for uncleanness with her.

21 « لا تَسمَحْ بِأنْ يُعطَى أحَدُ أولادِكَ لِيُذبَحَ لِلإلَهِ مُولَكَ. لا تُنَجِّسِ اسْمَ إلَهِكَ بِعَمَلِ هَذا. أنا اللهُ.

`And of thy seed thou dost not give to pass over to the Molech; nor dost thou pollute the name of thy God; I Jehovah.

22 « لا تُعاشِرْ ذَكَراً كَما تَفعَلُ مَعَ امْرأةٍ. هَذِهِ نَجاسَةٌ.

`And with a male thou dost not lie as one lieth with a woman; abomination it.

23 ل ا تُعاشِرْ حَيواناً فَتَتَنَجَّسَ بِهِ. وَلا تُعاشِرِ المَرأةُ حَيواناً. فَهَذا أمْرٌ بَغيضٌ جِدّاً.

`And with any beast thou dost not give thy copulation, for uncleanness with it; and a woman doth not stand before a beast to lie down with it; confusion it.

24 « لا تَتَنَجَّسُوا بَأيٍّ مِنْ هَذِهِ الأعمالِ، لِأنَّ الأُمَمَ الَّتِي سَأطرُدُها مِنْ أمامِكُمْ يُنَجِّسُونَ أنفُسَهُمْ بِها،

`Ye are not defiled with all these, for with all these have the nations been defiled which I am sending away from before you;

25 ح َتَّى صارَتِ الأرْضُ نَجِسَةً. لِذا سَأُعاقِبُها عَلَى خَطايا الشَّعبِ الَّذِي يَعِيشُ فِيها، كَي تَطرُدَ الأرْضُ السّاكِنِينَ فِيها.

and the land is defiled, and I charge its iniquity upon it, and the land vomiteth out its inhabitants:

26 « احْفَظُوا شَرائِعِي وَأحكامِي، وَلا تَعمَلُوا كُلَّ هَذِهِ الأُمُورِ البَغِيضَةِ. لا المُواطِنُ وَلا الغَرِيبُ السّاكِنُ بَينَكُمْ.

and ye -- ye have kept My statutes and My judgments, and do not of all these abominations, the native and the sojourner who is sojourning in your midst,

27 ل ِأنَّ الَّذِينَ عاشُوا فِي الأرْضِ قَبلَكُمْ عَمِلُوا كُلَّ هَذِهِ الأُمُورِ البَغِيضَةِ، فَصارَتِ الأرْضُ نَجِسَةً.

(for all these abominations have the men of the land done who before you, and the land is defiled),

28 ف َهَكَذا أيضاً سَتَطرُدُكُمُ الأرْضُ بِسَبَبِ تَنْجِيسِكُمْ إيَّاها، كَما طَرَدَتِ الأُمَمَ الَّتِي كانَتْ مِنْ قَبلِكُمْ.

and the land doth not vomit you out in your defiling it, as it hath vomited out the nation which before you;

29 ف َكُلُّ مَنْ يَعمَلُ شَيئاً مِنْ هَذِهِ الأُمُورِ البَغِيضَةِ، يُقطَعُ مِنْ شَعبِهِ.

for any one who doth of all these abominations -- even the persons who are doing, have been cut off from the midst of their people;

30 ا حفَظُوا وَصِيَّتِي، فَلا تَعمَلُوا أيّاً مِنَ الأُمُورِ البَغِيضَةِ الَّتِي عُمِلَتْ قَبلَكُمْ. لا تُنَجِّسُوا أنفُسَكُمْ بِعَمَلِ هَذِهِ الأُمُورِ. أنا إلَهُكُمْ.»

and ye have kept My charge, so as not to do of the abominable statutes which have been done before you, and ye do not defile yourselves with them; I Jehovah your God.'
