1 إ ذاً لا دَينُونَةَ الآنَ عَلَى مَنْ هُمْ فِي المَسِيحِ يَسُوعَ.

There is, then, now no condemnation to those in Christ Jesus, who walk not according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit;

2 ف َفِي المَسِيحِ يَسُوعَ، حَرَّرَتكَ شَريعَةُ الرُّوحِ المُحيِي مِنْ شَرِيعَةِ الخَطِيَّةِ الَّتِي تُؤَدِّي إلَى المَوتِ.

for the law of the Spirit of the life in Christ Jesus did set me free from the law of the sin and of the death;

3 ف َقَدْ حَقَّقَ اللهُ ما عَجِزَتِ الشَّرِيعَةُ عَنْ تَحقِيقِهِ. حَيْثُ إنَّ الطَّبِيعَةَ الجَسَدِيَّةَ جَعَلَتِ الشَّرِيعَةَ عاجِزَةً. وَهَكَذا أرسَلَ اللهُ ابنَهُ فِي جَسَدٍ كَجَسَدِنا، إلّا أنَّهُ لَمْ يُخطِئْ. فَكانَ ذَبِيحَةَ خَطِيَّةٍ، وَأدانَ اللهُ الخَطِيَّةَ فِي جَسَدٍ بَشَرِيٍّ!

for what the law was not able to do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God, His own Son having sent in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, did condemn the sin in the flesh,

4 ه َكَذا تَتَحَقَّقُ مَطالِبُ الشَّرِيعَةِ العادِلَةُ فِينا نَحنُ الَّذِينَ نَسلُكُ حَسَبَ الرُّوحِ، لا حَسَبَ طَبِيعَتِنا الجَسَدِيَّةِ.

that the righteousness of the law may be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

5 ف َالَّذِينَ يَعِيشُونَ حَسَبَ طَبِيعَتِهِمُ الجَسَدِيَّةِ، تَتَرَكَّزُ أفكارُهُمْ عَلَى رَغَباتِ تِلكَ الطَّبِيعَةِ. أمّا الَّذِينَ يَحيَونَ حَسَبَ الرُّوحِ القُدُسِ، فَتَتَرَكَّزُ أفكارُهُمْ عَلَى ما يَرغَبُ الرُّوحُ فِيهِ.

For those who are according to the flesh, the things of the flesh do mind; and those according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit;

6 ف َالتَّفكِيرُ الخاضِعُ لِلطَّبِيعَةِ الجَسَدِيَّةِ يُنتِجُ مَوتاً، أمّا التَّفكِيرُ الخاضِعُ لِلرُّوحِ فَيُنتِجُ حَياةً وَسَلاماً.

for the mind of the flesh death, and the mind of the Spirit -- life and peace;

7 ف َالتَّفكِيرُ الخاضِعُ لِلطَّبِيعَةِ الجَسَدِيَّةِ مُعادٍ للهِ، لِأنَّهُ لا يَخضَعُ لِشَرِيعَةِ اللهِ، بَلْ وَلا يُمكِنُهُ أنْ يَخضَعَ!

because the mind of the flesh enmity to God, for to the law of God it doth not subject itself,

8 ك َما لا يُمكِنُ لِأُولَئِكَ الَّذِينَ يَعِيشُونَ حَسَبَ طَبِيعَتِهِمُ الجَسَديَّةِ أنْ يُرضُوا اللهَ.

for neither is it able; and those who are in the flesh are not able to please God.

9 أ مّا أنتُمْ فَلَستُمْ خاضِعِينَ لِلطَّبِيعَةِ الجَسَدِيَّةِ، بَلْ لِلرُّوحِ، إنْ كانَ رُوحُ اللهِ ساكِناً فِيكُمْ. لَكِنْ إنْ كانَ أحَدٌ لَيسَ فيهِ رُوحُ المَسيحِ، فَهوَ لا يَنتَمي لِلمَسيحِ.

And ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God doth dwell in you; and if any one hath not the Spirit of Christ -- this one is not His;

10 إ نَّ أجسادَكُمْ مَيِّتَةٌ بِسَبَبِ الخَطِيَّةِ، لَكِنْ إنْ كانَ المَسيحُ فِيكُمْ، فَالرُّوحُ حَياةٌ لَكُمْ، لأنَّكُمْ قَدْ تَبَرَّرتُمْ.

and if Christ in you, the body, indeed, dead because of sin, and the Spirit life because of righteousness,

11 و َإنْ كانَ رُوحُ الَّذِي أقامَ المَسيحَ مِنَ المَوتِ ساكِناً فيكُمْ، فَإنَّ الَّذِي أقامَهُ مِنَ المَوتِ سَيُعطِي أيضاً حَياةً لِأجسامِكُمُ الفانِيَةِ بِرُوحِهِ السّاكِنِ فِيكُمْ.

and if the Spirit of Him who did raise up Jesus out of the dead doth dwell in you, He who did raise up the Christ out of the dead shall quicken also your dying bodies, through His Spirit dwelling in you.

12 ل ِذَلِكَ فَإنَّنا لَسْنا مُلتَزِمُونَ، أيُّها الإخوَةُ، نَحوَ طَبِيعَتِنا الجَسَديَّةِ لِنَعِيشَ حَسَبَها.

So, then, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh;

13 ل ِأنَّكُمْ إنْ عِشتُمْ حَسَبَ طَبِيعَتِكُمُ الجَسَديَّةِ، فَسَتَمُوتُونَ. لَكِنْ إذا أمَتُّمْ أعمالَ تِلكَ الطَّبِيعَةِ بِالرُّوحِ، فَسَتَحيَونَ.

for if according to the flesh ye do live, ye are about to die; and if, by the Spirit, the deeds of the body ye put to death, ye shall live;

14 ف َالَّذِينَ يَتبَعُونَ قِيادَةَ رُوحِ اللهِ هُمْ أبناءُ اللهِ.

for as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God;

15 ل ِأنَّ الرُّوحَ الَّذِي أخَذتُمُوهُ، لا يَجعَلُكُمْ عَبِيداً لِتَعُودُوا إلَى الخَوفِ بَلْ يَجعَلُكُمْ أبناءً للهِ. وَنَحنُ نَصرُخُ بِالرُّوحِ مُنادِينَ الآبَ: «يا بابا!»

for ye did not receive a spirit of bondage again for fear, but ye did receive a spirit of adoption in which we cry, `Abba -- Father.'

16 و َالرُّوحُ نَفسُهُ يَشهَدُ مَعَ أرواحِنا أنَّنا أبناءُ اللهِ.

The Spirit himself doth testify with our spirit, that we are children of God;

17 و َبِما أنَّنا أبناءُ اللهِ، فَإنَّنا وَرَثَتُهُ أيضاً، وَنَحنُ شُرَكاءُ فِي الإرثِ مَعَ المَسِيحِ. فَإنْ كُنّا نُشارِكُهُ الألَمَ، فَسَنُشارِكُهُ المَجدَ أيضاً. مَجْدُ المُستَقبَل

and if children, also heirs, heirs, indeed, of God, and heirs together of Christ -- if, indeed, we suffer together, that we may also be glorified together.

18 ف َأنا أعتَبِرُ آلامَنا فِي هَذِهِ الحَياةِ لا شَيءَ بِالقِياسِ مَعَ مَجدِ المُستَقبَلِ الَّذِي سَيَكشِفُهُ اللهُ لَنا.

For I reckon that the sufferings of the present time not worthy with the glory about to be revealed in us;

19 ف َإنَّ العالَمَ المَخلُوقَ يَنتَظِرُ باشتِياقٍ ذَلِكَ الوَقتَ الَّذِي فِيهِ سَيُعلِنُ اللهُ أبناءَهُ.

for the earnest looking out of the creation doth expect the revelation of the sons of God;

20 ف َقَدْ أُخضِعَ هَذا العالَمُ المَخلُوقُ لِحالَةٍ فَقَدَ فيها قِيمَتَهُ! لا باختِيارِهِ، بَلْ بِمَشِيئَةِ اللهِ نَفسِهِ. لَكِنْ هُناكَ رَجاءٌ،

for to vanity was the creation made subject -- not of its will, but because of Him who did subject -- in hope,

21 و َهُوَ أنْ يَتَحَرَّرَ هَذا العالَمُ المَخلُوقُ أيضاً مِنْ عُبُودِيَّتِهِ لِلفَسادِ، وَيَتَمَتَّعَ بِالحُرِّيَّةِ المَجِيدَةِ الَّتيْ لِأبناءِ اللهِ.

that also the creation itself shall be set free from the servitude of the corruption to the liberty of the glory of the children of God;

22 و َنَحنُ نَعلَمُ أنَّهُ حَتَّى هَذا اليَومِ، يَئِنُّ العالَمُ المَخلُوقُ كُلُّهُ مَعاً كامرَأةٍ فِي آلامِ الوِلادَةِ.

for we have known that all the creation doth groan together, and doth travail in pain together till now.

23 و َلَيسَ العالَمُ المَخلُوقُ وَحدَهُ، بَلْ نَحنُ أيضاً نَئِنُّ فِي أعماقِنا، نَحنُ الَّذِينَ أخَذنا الرُّوحَ القُدُسَ كَأوَّلِ حَصادِ بَرَكاتِ اللهِ. وَنَحنُ أيضاً نَنتَظِرُ بِشَوقٍ أنْ يَتَبَنّانا اللهُ بِشَكلٍ كامِلٍ، حِينَ يُحَرِّرُ أجسامَنا.

And not only, but also we ourselves, having the first-fruit of the Spirit, we also ourselves in ourselves do groan, adoption expecting -- the redemption of our body;

24 ل َقَدْ خَلُصْنا، وَلِهَذا فَإنَّ قُلُوبَنا مَملُوءَةٌ بِهَذا الرَّجاءِ. وَلَوْ أمكَنَنا أنْ نَرَى ما نَرجُوهُ، فَإنَّ الرَجاءَ لا يَعودُ رَجاءً. فَلا يُمكِنُ لأحَدٍ أنْ يَرجُوَ ما يَملِكَهُ بِالفِعلِ.

for in hope we were saved, and hope beheld is not hope; for what any one doth behold, why also doth he hope for ?

25 و َلَكِنْ بِما أنَّنا نَرجُو ما لا نَملِكُهُ، فَإنَّنا نَتَشَوَّقُ إلَيهِ بِصَبْرٍ.

and if what we do not behold we hope for, through continuance we expect.

26 ك َذَلِكَ يُعِينُنا الرُّوحُ القُدُسُ أيضاً فِي ضَعفِنا، فَنَحنُ لا نَعرِفُ كَيفَ نُصَلِّي كَما يَنبَغِي، لَكِنَّ الرُّوحَ نَفسَهُ يُصَلِّي مِنْ أجلِنا بِأنّاتٍ لا يُعَبَّرُ عَنها بِالكَلامِ.

And, in like manner also, the Spirit doth help our weaknesses; for, what we may pray for, as it behoveth, we have not known, but the Spirit himself doth make intercession for us with groanings unutterable,

27 و َاللهُ الَّذِي يَفْحَصُ القُلُوبَ يَعرِفُ ما يَقُولُهُ الرُّوحُ، لِأنَّ الرُّوحَ يُصَلِّي مِنْ أجلِ المُؤمِنينَ المُقَدَّسِينَ بِما يُوافِقُ إرادَةَ اللهِ.

and He who is searching the hearts hath known what the mind of the Spirit, because according to God he doth intercede for saints.

28 و َنَحنُ نَعلَمُ أنَّ اللهَ يَجعَلُ كُلَّ الأشياءِ تَعمَلُ مَعاً لِخَيرِ الَّذِينَ يُحِبُّونَهُ، المَدعُوِّينَ حَسَبَ إرادَتِهِ.

And we have known that to those loving God all things do work together for good, to those who are called according to purpose;

29 ا ختارَهُمُ اللهُ مُسبَقاً، وَقَدَّسَهُمْ لَهُ مُسبَقا، لِيَكُونُوا عَلَى صُورَةِ ابنِهِ، وَذَلِكَ لِيَكُونَ ابنُهُ بِكْراً بَينَ إخْوَةٍ كَثِيرِينَ.

because whom He did foreknow, He also did fore-appoint, conformed to the image of His Son, that he might be first-born among many brethren;

30 ث ُمَّ دَعا الَّذِينَ قَدَّسَهُمْ، ثُمَّ بَرَّرَ الَّذِينَ دَعاهُمْ، ثُمَّ مَجَّدَ الَّذِينَ بَرَّرَهُمْ. مَحَبَّةُ اللهِ فِي المَسِيحِ يَسُوع

and whom He did fore-appoint, these also He did call; and whom He did call, these also He declared righteous; and whom He declared righteous, these also He did glorify.

31 ف َماذا نَقُولُ فِي ضَوْءِ هَذا كُلِّهِ؟ إنْ كانَ اللهُ إلَى جانِبِنا، فَمَنْ يَصْمُدُ ضِدَّنا؟

What, then, shall we say unto these things? if God for us, who against us?

32 و َإنْ كانَ اللهُ لَمْ يَمنَعْ عَنّا ابنَهُ الوَحِيدَ، بَلْ أسلَمَهُ لِلمَوتِ مِنْ أجلِنا جَمِيعاً، أفَلا يَكُونُ مُستَعِدّاً لإعطائِنا كُلَّ شَيءٍ مَعَهُ؟

He who indeed His own Son did not spare, but for us all did deliver him up, how shall He not also with him the all things grant to us?

33 م َنِ الَّذِي سَيَشْتَكي عَلَىْ الَّذِينَ اختارَهُمُ اللهُ؟ فَاللهُ هُوَ الَّذِي يُبَرِّئُهُمْ.

Who shall lay a charge against the choice ones of God? God He that is declaring righteous,

34 و َمَنِ الَّذِي سَيُدِينُهُمْ؟ فَالمَسِيحُ يَسُوعَ هُوَ الَّذِي ماتَ وَقامَ، وَهُوَ أيضاً الَّذِي يَجلِسُ عَنْ يَمِينِ اللهِ يُحامِي عَنّا.

who he that is condemning? Christ He that died, yea, rather also, was raised up; who is also on the right hand of God -- who also doth intercede for us.

35 ف َمَنْ يَقدِرُ أنْ يَفصِلَنا عَنْ مَحَبَّةِ المَسِيحِ؟ أتَقدِرُ عَلَى ذَلِكَ الضِّيقاتُ، أمِ المَشَقّاتُ، أمْ الاضطِهاداتُ، أمِ الجُوعُ، أمِ العُريُ، أمِ الأخطارُ، أمِ المَوتُ بِالسَّيفِ؟

Who shall separate us from the love of the Christ? tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

36 ف َكَما يَقُولُ الكِتابُ: «إنَّنا مِنْ أجلِكَ نُواجِهُ خَطَرَ المَوتِ طَوالَ النَّهارِ. وَنَحنُ مَحسُوبُونَ كَغَنَمٍ لِلذَّبحِ.»

(according as it hath been written -- `For Thy sake we are put to death all the day long, we were reckoned as sheep of slaughter,')

37 غ َيرَ أنَّنا فِي كُلِّ هَذِهِ الشَّدائِدِ، مُنتَصِرُونَ انتِصاراً مَجِيداً جِدّاً مِنْ خِلالِ ذاكَ الَّذِي أحَبَّنا.

but in all these we more than conquer, through him who loved us;

38 ف َأنا مُقتَنِعٌ بِأنَّهُ ما مِنْ شَيءٍ يَقدِرُ أنْ يَفصِلَنا عَنْ مَحَبَّةِ اللهِ الَّتِي فِي المَسِيحِ يَسُوعَ رَبِّنا. فَلا مَوتَ وَلا حَياةَ، وَلا مَلائِكَةَ وَلا أرواحَ مُتَسَلِّطَةً، وَلا شَيءَ فِي الحاضِرِ، وَلا شَيءَ فِي المُستَقبَلِ، وَلا قُوَىً رُوحِيَّةً،

for I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor messengers, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present,

39 و َلا شَيءَ مِمّا فَوقَنا، وَلا شَيءَ مِمّا تَحتَنا، وَلا أيَّ شَيءٍ آخَرَ مَخلُوقٍ يُمكِنُ أنْ يَفصِلَنا عَنْ مَحَبَّةِ اللهِ الَّتِي لَنا فِي المَسِيحِ يَسُوعَ رَبِّنا.

nor things about to be, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, that in Christ Jesus our Lord.
