1 ا متَدَّ حُكمُ سُلَيْمانَ عَلَى كُلِّ إسْرائِيلَ.

And king Solomon is king over all Israel,

2 و َفِي ما يَلِي أسْماءُ كِبارُ المَسؤُولِينَ الَّذِينَ أعانُوهُ فِي الحُكمِ: الكاهِنُ عَزَرْيا بْنُ صادُوقَ.

and these the heads whom he hath: Azariah son of Zadok the priest;

3 أ لِيحُورَفُ وَأخِيّا، ابْنا شِيشا، وَكانا كاتِبَينِ لِلسِّجِلاتِ القانُونِيَّةِ. وَالمُؤَرِّخُ يَهُوشافاطُ بْنُ أخِيلُودَ.

Elihoreph and Ahiah sons of Shisha scribes; Jehoshaphat son of Ahilud remembrancer;

4 و َقائِدُ الجَيشِ بَناياهُو بْنُ يَهُوشافاطُ. وَالكاهِنانِ صادُوقُ وَأبِياثارُ.

and Benaiah son of Jehoiada over the host; and Zadok and Abiathar priests;

5 ع َزَرْيا بْنُ ناثانَ المَسؤولُ عَنْ وُلاةِ المُقاطَعاتِ. زابُودُ بْنُ ناثانَ، وَكانَ كاهِناً وَمُستَشاراً شَخْصِيّاً لِلمَلِكِ.

and Azariah son of Nathan over the officers; and Zabud son of Nathan minister, friend of the king;

6 أ خِيشارُ المَسؤولُ عَنْ شُؤونِ بَيتِ المَلِكِ. أدُونِيرامُ بْنُ عَبْدا المَسؤولُ عَنِ العُمّالِ.

And Ahishar over the household, and Adoniram son of Abda over the tribute.

7 و َقَدْ وَلَّى سُلَيْمانُ اثنَي عَشَرَ والِياً عَلَى كُلِّ إسرائِيلَ. فَكانُوا يُوفِّرُونَ الطَّعامَ لِلمَلِكِ وَلِبَيتِهِ بِالتَّناوُبِ، بَحَيثُ يَتَولَّى واحِدٌ مِنهُمْ هَذا الأمرَ شَهراً كُلَّ سَنَةٍ.

And Solomon hath twelve officers over all Israel, and they have sustained the king and his household -- a month in the year is on each one for sustenance;

8 و َفِي ما يَلِي أسماؤُهُمْ: ابْنُ حُورَ، وَكانَ والِياً عَلَى مُقاطَعَةِ أفْرايِمَ الجَبَلِيَّةِ.

and these their names: Ben-Hur in the hill-country of Ephraim;

9 ا بْنُ دَقَرَ، وَكانَ والِياً عَلَى ماقَصَ وَشَعَلُبِّيمَ وَبَيتَ شَمسَ وَأيلُونِ بَيتِ حانانَ.

Ben-Dekar in Makaz, and Shaalbim, and Beth-Shemesh, and Elon-Beth-Hanan.

10 ا بْنِ حَسَدَ، وَكانَ والِياً عَلَى أرُوبُوتَ وَسُوكُوهَ وَحافَرَ.

Ben-Hesed in Aruboth, hath Sochoh and all the land of Hepher;

11 ا بْنُ أبِينادابَ، وَكانَ والِياً عَلَى مُرتَفَعاتِ دُوَرٍ. وَكانَ مُتَزَوِّجاً مِنْ طافَةَ بِنْتِ سُلَيْمانَ.

Ben-Abinadab all the elevation of Dor, Taphath daughter of Solomon became his wife.

12 ب َعْنا بْنُ أخِيلُودَ، وَكانَ والِياً عَلَى تَعْنَكَ وَمَجِدُّو وَكُلِّ بَيتِ شانٍ المُجاوِرَةِ لِصُرْتانَ، وَهِيَ تَحْتَ يَزْرَعِيلَ، مِنْ بَيتَ شانٍ إلَى آبَلَ مَحُولَةَ عَلَى الجانِبِ الآخَرِ مِنْ يَقْمَعامَ.

Baana Ben-Ahilud Taanach and Megiddo, and all Beth-Shean, which by Zartanah beneath Jezreel, from Beth-Shean unto Abel-Meholah, unto beyond Jokneam.

13 ا بْنُ جابَرَ، وَكانَ والِياً عَلَى رامُوثَ الَّتِي فِي جَلْعادَ. وَكانَ مَسؤُولاً عَنْ كُلِّ بَلْداتِ يائِيرَ بْنِ مَنَسَّى وَقُراها فِي جِلْعادَ، وَعَنْ مِنْطَقَةِ أرجُوبَ فِي باشانَ. وَكانَتْ هَذِهِ المِنطَقَةُ تَضُمُّ سِتِّينَ مَدِينَةً مُسَوَّرَةً، وَلَها قُضبانٌ نُحاسِيَّةٌ عَلَى بَوّاباتِها.

Ben-Geber, in Ramoth-Gilead, hath the small towns of Jair son of Manasseh, which in Gilead; he hath a portion of Argob that in Bashan, sixty great cities wall and brazen bar.

14 أ خِينادابُ بْنُ عُدُّو، وَكانَ والِياً عَلَى مَحَنايِمَ.

Ahinadab son of Iddo Mahanaim.

15 أ خِيمَعَصُ، وَكانَ والِياً عَلَى نَفتالِي. وَكانَ مُتَزَوِّجاً مِنْ باسِمَةٍ بِنْتِ سُلَيْمانَ.

Ahimaaz in Naphtali; he also hath taken Basemath daughter of Solomon for a wife.

16 ب َعْنا بْنُ حُوشايَ، وَكانَ والِياً عَلَى أشِيرَ وَبَعَلُوتَ.

Baanah Ben-Hushai in Asher, and in Aloth.

17 ي َهُوشافاطُ بْنُ فارُوخَ، وَكانَ والِياً عَلَى يَسّاكَرَ.

Jehoshaphat Ben-Paruah in Issachar.

18 ش َمْعَى بْنُ أيلا، وَكانَ والِياً عَلَى بَنْيامِيْنَ.

Shimei Ben-Elah in Benjamin.

19 ج ابِرُ بْنُ أُورِي، وَكانَ والِياً عَلَى جِلْعادَ حَيثُ كانَ سِيحُونُ مَلِكُ الأمُّورِيِّينَ، وَعُوجُ مَلِكُ باشانَ يسْكُنانِ. وَكانَ جابِرُ والِياً وَحْدَهُ عَلَى كُلِّ تِلكَ المُقاطَعَةِ.

Geber Ben-Uri in the land of Gilead, the land of Sihon king of the Amorite, and of Og king of Bashan: and one officer who in the land.

20 و َكانَ النّاسُ فِي يَهُوذا وَإسْرائِيلَ بِكَثْرَةِ رَملِ الشَّواطِئِ، لِكِنْ لَمْ يَنقُصْهُمْ شَيْءٌ مِنَ الطَعامِ وَالشُّرابِ وَالثِّيابِ.

Judah and Israel many, as the sand that by the sea for multitude, eating and drinking and rejoicing.

21 و َحَكَمَ سُلَيْمانُ كُلَّ المَمالِكِ مِنْ نَهرِ الفُراتِ إلَى أرْضِ الفِلِسْطِيِّينَ. وَامتَدَّتْ مَملَكَتُهُ إلَى حُدُودِ مِصْرَ. وَكانَتْ تِلكَ المَمالِكُ تُرسِلُ الجِزيَةَ إلَى سُلَيْمانَ وَتَخضَعُ لَهُ طَوالَ أيّامِ حُكمِهِ.

And Solomon hath been ruling over all the kingdoms, from the River the land of the Philistines and unto the border of Egypt: they are bringing nigh a present, and serving Solomon, all days of his life.

22 و َهَذِهِ كَمِّيّاتُ الطَّعامِ الَّتِي احْتاجَها سُلَيْمانُ كُلَّ يَومٍ: ثَلاثِينَ كِيساً مِنَ السَّمِيدِ، وَسِتِّينَ كِيساً مِنَ الطَّحِينِ،

And the provision of Solomon for one day is thirty cors of flour, and sixty cors of meal;

23 و َعَشْرَةُ ثِيرانٍ مُسَمَّنَةٌ، وَعِشْرُونَ مِنْ بَقَرِ المَراعِي، وَمِئَةُ خَرُوفٍ، عَدا جَمِيعِ أنْواعِ الغِزلانِ وَالطُّيُورِ البَرَّيَّةِ.

ten fat oxen, and twenty feeding oxen, and a hundred sheep, apart from hart, and roe, and fallow-deer, and fatted beasts of the stalls,

24 و َحَكَمَ سُلَيْمانُ كُلَّ البُلدانِ الواقِعَةِ شَرقِيَّ نَهرِ الفُراتِ، أيْ مِنْ تَفْسَخَ إلَى غَزَّةَ. وَسادَ السَّلامُ جَمِيعَ حُدُودِ مَملَكَتِهِ.

for he is ruling over all beyond the river, from Tiphsah and unto Gaza, over all the kings beyond the river, and he hath peace from all his servants round about.

25 و قَدْ عاشَ كُلُّ الشَّعبِ فِي يَهُوذا وَإسْرائِيلَ مِنْ دانَ إلَى بِئْرِ السَّبعِ فِي سَلامٍ وَأمْنٍ طَوالَ حُكمِ سُلَيْمانَ. فَكانَ النّاسُ يَجلِسُونَ مُطمَئِنِّينَ تَحتَ أشجارِ تِينِهِمْ وَكُرُومِهِمْ.

And Judah dwelleth -- and Israel -- in confidence, each under his vine, and under his fig-tree, from Dan even unto Beer-Sheba, all the days of Solomon.

26 و َكانَ لَدَى سُلَيْمانَ اسْطَبلاتٌ تَتَّسِعُ لِأربَعَةِ آلافٍ مِنْ خُيُولِ مَركِباتِهِ، وَاثنا عَشَرَ ألفَ فارِسٍ.

And Solomon hath forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen.

27 و َفِي كُلِّ شَهْرٍ كانَ واحِدٌ مِنْ كُلِّ وُلاةِ المُقاطَعاتِ الاثنَي عَشَرَ يُزَوِّدُ المَلِكَ بِكُلِّ ما يَحتاجُهُ مِنْ طَعامٍ. فَكانَ ذَلِكَ يَكفِي لِجَمِيعِ الآكِلِينَ عَلَى مائِدَةِ المَلِكِ.

And these officers have sustained king Solomon and every one drawing near unto the table of king Solomon, each his month; they let nothing be lacking.

28 ك َما يُقَدَّمَونَ ما يَكفِي مِنَ الشَّعِيرِ وَالتِّبْنِ لِخُيُولِ المَركِباتِ وَخُيُولِ الفُرسانِ، وَيَنَقَلُونَ ذَلِكَ إلَى الأماكِنِ المُخَصَّصَةِ. مِقدارُ حِكمَةِ سُلَيْمان

And the barley and the straw, for horses and for dromedaries, they bring in unto the place where they are, each according to his ordinance.

29 و َأعطَى اللهُ سُلَيْمانَ حِكمَةً عَظِيمَةً، فَكانَ يَفهَمُ أُمُوراً كَثِيرَةً جِدّاً، وَكانَ واسِعَ الإدراكِ إلَى حَدٍّ يَصعُبُ تَصَوُّرُهُ.

And God giveth wisdom to Solomon, and understanding, very much, and breadth of heart, as the sand that on the edge of the sea;

30 ف َقَدْ فاقَتْ حِكمَةُ سُلَيْمانَ كُلَّ حِكمَةِ أهلِ الشَّرقِ وَمِصْرَ.

and the wisdom of Solomon is greater than the wisdom of any of the sons of the east, and than all the wisdom of Egypt;

31 ك انَ أحكَمَ النّاسِ عَلَى الأرْضِ. فَقَدْ تَفَوَّقَ فِي حِكمَتِهِ عَلَى إيثانَ الأزْرَحِيَّ وَهِيْمانَ وَكَلْكُولَ وَدَرْدَعَ أبناءِ ماحُولَ. فَذاعَ صِيْتُ سُلَيْمانَ فِي البُلدانِ المُحِيطَةِ كُلِّها.

and he is wiser than all men, than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, and Chalcol, and Darda, sons of Mahol, and his name is in all the nations round about.

32 و َكَتَبَ سُلَيْمانُ ثَلاثَةَ آلافِ قَولٍ حَكِيمٍ، وَألفاً وَخَمسَ مِئَةِ تَرنِيمَةٍ وَأُغْنِيَةٍ.

And he speaketh three thousand similes, and his songs five, and the chief one;

33 و َعَرَفَ سُلَيْمانُ أيضاً الكَثِيرَ عَنِ الطَّبِيعَةِ. فَعَلَّمَ عَنْ أنواعٍ كَثِيرَةٍ مِنَ النَّباتاتِ، مِنْ أشجارِ الأرْزِ العَظِيمَةِ فِي لُبنانَ، إلَى الزُّوفا المُتَسَلِّقَةِ عَلَى الجُدرانِ. وَعَلَّمَ أيضاً عَنِ الحَيواناتِ وَالطُّيُورِ وَالزَّواحِفِ.

and he speaketh concerning the trees, from the cedar that in Lebanon, even unto the hyssop that is coming out in the wall, and he speaketh concerning the cattle, and concerning the fowl, and concerning the creeping things, and concerning the fishes,

34 ف َكانَ يَأْتِي أُناسٌ مِنْ كُلِّ الشُّعُوبِ إلَى سُلَيْمانَ لِيَستَمِعُوا إلَى حِكمَتِهِ. وَأرسَلَ مُلُوكُ كُلِّ الأُمَمِ حُكَماءَهُمْ لِكَي يسمَعوا ويَتَعَلَّمُوا مِنْ حِكمَتِهِ.

and there come out of all the peoples to hear the wisdom of Solomon, from all kings of the earth who have heard of his wisdom.
