1 L a palabra del Señor vino a mí, y me dijo:

And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying,

2 « Hijo de hombre, profetiza contra los profetas de Israel. Según ellos, profetizan, pero sus profecías son producto de su propio corazón. Diles que oigan mi palabra.

`Son of man, prophesy concerning the prophets of Israel who are prophesying, and thou hast said to those prophesying from their own heart: Hear ye a word of Jehovah:

3 D iles que yo, su Dios y Señor, he dicho: “¡Ay de los profetas insensatos, que siguen sus propios impulsos sin haber tenido ninguna visión!

Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Wo unto the prophets who are foolish, Who are going after their own spirit, And they have seen nothing.

4 T us profetas, Israel, son como las zorras del desierto.

As foxes in the wastes, Thy prophets, O Israel, have been.

5 N o se han trepado a las brechas, ni han levantado una muralla firme que, en mi día, proteja al pueblo de Israel de los estragos de la guerra.”

Ye have not gone up into breaches, Nor do ye make a fence for the house of Israel, To stand in battle in a day of Jehovah.

6 S us visiones son falsas, y sus adivinaciones son una mentira. Andan diciendo: “El Señor lo ha dicho”, pero yo no los he enviado. ¿Y así esperan que yo confirme su palabra?

They have seen vanity, and lying divination, Who are saying: An affirmation of Jehovah, And Jehovah hath not sent them, And they have hoped to establish a word.

7 ¿ No es verdad que cuando dicen: “El Señor lo ha dicho”, sin que yo haya hablado, sus visiones resultan falsas, y sus adivinaciones son una mentira?

A vain vision have ye not seen, And a lying divination spoken, When ye say: An affirmation of Jehovah, And I have not spoken?

8 » Por eso yo, su Dios y Señor he dicho: “Yo estoy contra ustedes, porque sus palabras son falsas y sus visiones son una mentira.” Palabra de Dios el Señor.

Therefore, thus said the Lord Jehovah: Because ye have spoken vanity, and seen a lie, Therefore, lo, I against you, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah.

9 » Voy a descargar mi mano sobre los profetas que tienen visiones falsas y mienten con sus adivinaciones. No serán contados entre mi pueblo, ni quedarán inscritos en el libro del pueblo de Israel, ni podrán entrar a la tierra de Israel. Así sabrán que yo soy Dios el Señor.

And My hand hath been on the prophets, Who are seeing vanity, and who are divining a lie, In the assembly of My people they are not, And in the writing of the house of Israel they are not written, And unto the ground of Israel they come not, And ye have known that I the Lord Jehovah.

10 » Esto será así por haber engañado a mi pueblo. Le hablaron de paz, cuando en realidad no había paz. Mientras uno levantaba la pared, los otros la recubrían con lodo suelto.

Because, even because, they did cause My people to err, Saying, Peace! and there is no peace, And that one is building a wall, And lo, they are daubing it with chalk.

11 A sí que diles a los que recubren la pared con lodo suelto, que esa pared se vendrá abajo. Yo enviaré una lluvia torrencial, y granizos como piedras, y un viento tempestuoso, para que se venga abajo.

Say to those daubing with chalk -- It falleth, There hath been an overflowing shower, And ye, O hailstones, do fall, And a tempestuous wind doth rend,

12 Y cuando la pared esté por los suelos, ¡seguramente les van a preguntar qué pasó con el lodo suelto con que embarraron la pared para recubrirla!

And lo, fallen hath the wall! Doth not one say unto you, Where the daubing that ye daubed?

13 » Por lo tanto yo, su Señor y Dios, digo: “En mi enojo, haré que un viento tempestuoso destroce esa pared; en mi furor, enviaré una lluvia torrencial y piedras de granizo para que la destruya.

Therefore, thus said the Lord Jehovah: I have rent with a tempestuous wind in My fury, And an overflowing shower is in Mine anger, And hailstones in My fury -- to consume.

14 A sí es como voy a desbaratar la pared que ustedes recubrieron con lodo suelto; voy a echarla por tierra, y ésta se caerá y sus cimientos quedarán al descubierto, y ustedes serán destruidos con ella. Así sabrán que yo soy el Señor.”

And I have broken down the wall that ye daubed with chalk, And have caused it to come unto the earth, And revealed hath been its foundation, And it hath fallen, And ye have been consumed in its midst, And ye have known that I Jehovah.

15 » Cuando haya calmado mi furor contra la pared y contra los que la recubrieron con lodo suelto, les diré: “Ya no existe la pared, ni los que la recubrieron,

And I have completed My wrath on the wall, And on those daubing it with chalk, And I say to you: The wall is not, And those daubing it are not;

16 e sos profetas de Israel que profetizaban acerca de Jerusalén y que tenían para ella visiones de paz, cuando en realidad no había paz.” Palabra de Dios el Señor.

The prophets of Israel who are prophesying concerning Jerusalem, And who are seeing for her a vision of peace, And there is no peace, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah.

17 » Tú, hijo de hombre, denuncia a esas mujeres de tu pueblo, cuyas profecías son producto de su propio corazón. Profetiza contra ellas,

And thou, son of man, set thy face against the daughters of thy people, who are prophesying out of their own heart, and prophesy concerning them,

18 y diles de mi parte: “¡Ay de aquellas que cosen vendas mágicas para todas las manos, y hacen velos mágicos para toda cabeza, para atrapar a la gente! ¿Y van a hacer caer a mi pueblo, para salvar su propia vida?

And thou hast said: Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Wo to those sowing pillows for all joints of the arm, And to those making the kerchiefs For the head of every stature -- to hunt souls, The souls do ye hunt of My people? And the souls ye have do ye keep alive?

19 ¿ Y van a ofenderme entre mi pueblo a cambio de cebada y de mendrugos de pan, matando a quienes no deben morir, dejando con vida a quienes no deben vivir, y mintiéndole a mi pueblo, que cree en sus mentiras?”

Yea, ye pierce Me concerning My people, For handfuls of barley, And for pieces of bread, to put to death Souls that should not die, And to keep alive souls that should not live, By your lying to My people -- hearkening to lies.

20 » Por lo tanto yo, su Señor y Dios, les digo: “Yo estoy en contra de sus vendas mágicas, con las que atrapan a mi pueblo como a pájaros. Yo voy a librar a mi pueblo de las trampas que le tienden, para que vuele libre como los pájaros.

Therefore, thus said the Lord Jehovah: Lo, I against your pillows, With which ye are hunting there the souls of the flourishing, And I have rent them from off your arms, And have sent away the souls that ye are hunting, The souls of the flourishing.

21 R asgaré también sus velos mágicos, y libraré a mi pueblo de su mano, para que no sigan siendo su presa.” Así sabrán que yo soy el Señor.

And I have torn your kerchiefs, And delivered My people out of your hand, And they are no more in your hand for a prey, And ye have known that I Jehovah.

22 » Con sus mentiras, ustedes han entristecido el corazón de los justos, a quienes yo nunca entristecí; han fortalecido las manos de los malvados, y los han animado a no apartarse de su mal camino.

Because of paining the heart of the righteous with falsehood, And I have not pained it, And strengthening the hands of the wicked, So as not to turn back from his evil way, To keep him alive,

23 P or eso, no volverán a tener más visiones falsas, ni a practicar la adivinación. Voy a librar de su mano a mi pueblo. Así sabrán que yo soy el Señor.»

Therefore, vanity ye do not see, And divination ye do not divine again, And I have delivered My people out of your hand, And ye have known that I Jehovah!'
