1 » Escribe al ángel de la iglesia en Éfeso: Así dice el que lleva siete estrellas en su mano derecha y anda en medio de los siete candeleros de oro:

`To the messenger of the Ephesian assembly write: These things saith he who is holding the seven stars in his right hand, who is walking in the midst of the seven lamp-stands -- the golden:

2 » Yo conozco tus obras, tu arduo trabajo y tu paciencia. Sé que no soportas a los malvados, que has puesto a prueba a los que dicen ser apóstoles y no lo son, y que has descubierto que son unos mentirosos.

I have known thy works, and thy labour, and thy endurance, and that thou art not able to bear evil ones, and that thou hast tried those saying themselves to be apostles and are not, and hast found them liars,

3 P or causa de mi nombre has resistido, sufrido y trabajado arduamente, sin rendirte.

and thou didst bear, and hast endurance, and because of my name hast toiled, and hast not been weary.

4 P ero tengo contra ti que has abandonado tu primer amor.

`But I have against thee: That thy first love thou didst leave!

5 A sí que ponte a pensar en qué has fallado, y arrepiéntete, y vuelve a actuar como al principio. De lo contrario, vendré a ti y, si no te arrepientes, quitaré tu candelero de su lugar.

remember, then, whence thou hast fallen, and reform, and the first works do; and if not, I come to thee quickly, and will remove thy lamp-stand from its place -- if thou mayest not reform;

6 P ero tienes algo a tu favor: que no soportas las obras de los nicolaítas, las cuales tampoco yo soporto.

but this thou hast, that thou dost hate the works of the Nicolaitans, that I also hate.

7 E l que tenga oídos, que oiga lo que el Espíritu dice a las iglesias. Al que salga vencedor, le permitiré comer del árbol de la vida, el cual está en medio del paraíso de Dios. Mensaje a la iglesia de Esmirna

He who is having an ear -- let him hear what the Spirit saith to the assemblies: To him who is overcoming -- I will give to him to eat of the tree of life that is in the midst of the paradise of God.

8 » Escribe al ángel de la iglesia en Esmirna: Así dice el primero y el último, el que estuvo muerto y ha vuelto a vivir:

`And to the messenger of the assembly of the Smyrneans write: These things saith the First and the Last, who did become dead and did live;

9 » Yo conozco tus obras, tus sufrimientos, y tu pobreza (aunque en realidad eres rico). Sé cómo te calumnian los que dicen ser judíos, pero que en realidad no son sino una sinagoga de Satanás.

I have known thy works, and tribulation, and poverty -- yet thou art rich -- and the evil-speaking of those saying themselves to be Jews, and are not, but a synagogue of the Adversary.

10 N o tengas miedo de lo que vas a sufrir, pues el diablo pondrá a prueba a algunos de ustedes y los echará en la cárcel, y allí tendrán que sufrir durante diez días. Tú sé fiel hasta la muerte, y yo te daré la corona de la vida.

`Be not afraid of the things that thou art about to suffer; lo, the devil is about to cast of you to prison, that ye may be tried, and ye shall have tribulation ten days; become thou faithful unto death, and I will give to thee the crown of the life.

11 E l que tenga oídos, que oiga lo que el Espíritu dice a las iglesias: El que salga vencedor, no sufrirá el daño de la segunda muerte. Mensaje a la iglesia de Pérgamo

He who is having an ear -- let him hear what the Spirit saith to the assemblies: He who is overcoming may not be injured of the second death.

12 » Escribe al ángel de la iglesia en Pérgamo: Así dice el que tiene la espada aguda de doble filo:

`And to the messenger of the assembly in Pergamos write: These things saith he who is having the sharp two-edged sword:

13 » Yo sé dónde vives, y dónde está el trono de Satanás. Sin embargo, te mantienes fiel a mi nombre, y no has negado mi fe, ni siquiera cuando a Antipas, mi testigo fiel, lo mataron en esa ciudad, donde vive Satanás.

I have known thy works, and where thou dost dwell -- where the throne of the Adversary -- and thou dost hold fast my name, and thou didst not deny my faith, even in the days in which Antipas my faithful witness, who was put to death beside you, where the Adversary doth dwell.

14 P ero tengo algunas cosas contra ti. Tienes contigo a los que se aferran a la doctrina de Balaam, el que enseñó a Balac a poner tropiezos a los hijos de Israel, a hacerlos comer de lo sacrificado a los ídolos, y a caer en inmoralidades sexuales.

`But I have against thee a few things: That thou hast there those holding the teaching of Balaam, who did teach Balak to cast a stumbling-block before the sons of Israel, to eat idol-sacrifices, and to commit whoredom;

15 T ambién tienes contigo a los que se aferran a la doctrina de los nicolaítas.

so hast thou, even thou, those holding the teaching of the Nicolaitans -- which thing I hate.

16 A sí que, ¡arrepiéntete! De lo contrario, pronto vendré a ti, y con la espada de mi boca pelearé contra ellos.

`Reform! and if not, I come to thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.

17 E l que tenga oídos, que oiga lo que el Espíritu dice a las iglesias: Al que salga vencedor, le daré a comer del maná escondido, y le daré también una piedrecita blanca; en ella está escrito un nombre nuevo, que nadie conoce sino el que lo recibe. Mensaje a la iglesia de Tiatira

He who is having an ear -- let him hear what the Spirit saith to the assemblies: To him who is overcoming, I will give to him to eat from the hidden manna, and will give to him a white stone, and upon the stone a new name written, that no one knew except him who is receiving.

18 » Escribe al ángel de la iglesia en Tiatira: Así dice el Hijo de Dios, cuyos ojos son como una llama de fuego, y cuyos pies se asemejan al bronce pulido:

`And to the messenger of the assembly of Thyatira write: These things saith the Son of God, who is having his eyes as a flame of fire, and his feet like to fine brass;

19 » Yo conozco tus obras, tu amor, y tu fe; tu servicio y tu paciencia. También sé que tus últimas obras son mejores que las primeras.

I have known thy works, and love, and ministration, and faith, and thy endurance, and thy works -- and the last more than the first.

20 P ero tengo algunas cosas contra ti: Tú toleras a Jezabel, esa mujer que se llama profetisa, pero que seduce a mis siervos y los lleva a incurrir en inmoralidad sexual y a comer lo sacrificado a los ídolos.

`But I have against thee a few things: That thou dost suffer the woman Jezebel, who is calling herself a prophetess, to teach, and to lead astray, my servants to commit whoredom, and idol-sacrifices to eat;

21 L e he dado tiempo para que se arrepienta, pero no quiere renunciar a su inmoralidad sexual.

and I did give to her a time that she might reform from her whoredom, and she did not reform;

22 P or tanto, a ella y a los que con ella adulteran los haré caer en cama; y si no se arrepienten de sus malas obras, los haré sufrir en gran manera.

lo, I will cast her into a couch, and those committing adultery with her into great tribulation -- if they may not repent of their works,

23 Y heriré de muerte a sus hijos, y todas las iglesias sabrán que yo soy el que escudriña la mente y el corazón; y a cada uno de ustedes le daré según lo que haya hecho.

and her children I will kill in death, and know shall all the assemblies that I am he who is searching reins and hearts; and I will give to you -- to each -- according to your works.

24 P ero a ustedes y a los demás que están en Tiatira, y que no siguen esa doctrina ni han conocido lo que ellos llaman “las profundidades de Satanás”, yo les digo que no les impondré ninguna carga más;

`And to you I say, and to the rest who are in Thyatira, as many as have not this teaching, and who did not know the depths of the Adversary, as they say; I will not put upon you other burden;

25 p ero deben conservar lo que tienen hasta que yo venga.

but that which ye have -- hold ye, till I may come;

26 A l que salga vencedor y cumpla hasta el final con lo que yo mando, le daré autoridad sobre las naciones,

and he who is overcoming, and who is keeping unto the end my works, I will give to him authority over the nations,

27 l a misma que he recibido de mi Padre. Y gobernará a las naciones con cetro de hierro, y las despedazará como a un vaso de alfarero.

and he shall rule them with a rod of iron -- as the vessels of the potter they shall be broken -- as I also have received from my Father;

28 A demás, le daré la estrella de la mañana.

and I will give to him the morning star.

29 E l que tenga oídos, que oiga lo que el Espíritu dice a las iglesias.
