1 E ntonces alcé los ojos y miré a un hombre con un cordel de medir en la mano.

And I lift up mine eyes, and look, and lo, a man, and in his hand a measuring line.

2 Y le dije: “¿Adónde vas?” “A medir a Jerusalén, para ver cuánta es su anchura y cuánta su longitud,” me respondió.

And I say, `Whither are thou going?' And he saith unto me, `To measure Jerusalem, to see how much its breadth, and how much its length.'

3 C uando el ángel que hablaba conmigo se iba, otro ángel le salió al encuentro,

And lo, the messenger who is speaking with me is going out, and another messenger is going out to meet him,

4 y le dijo: “Corre, habla a ese joven, y dile: ‘Sin muros será habitada Jerusalén, a causa de la multitud de hombres y de ganados dentro de ella.

and he saith unto him, `Run, speak unto this young man, saying: Unwalled villages inhabit doth Jerusalem, From the abundance of man and beast in her midst.

5 P orque Yo seré para ella,’ declara el Señor, ‘una muralla de fuego en derredor, y gloria seré en medio de ella.’”

And I -- I am to her -- an affirmation of Jehovah, A wall of fire round about, And for honour I am in her midst.

6 “ ¡Escúchenme! Huyan de la tierra del norte,” declara el Señor, “pues Yo los dispersé por los cuatro vientos del cielo,” declara el Señor.

Ho, ho, and flee from the land of the north, An affirmation of Jehovah, For, as the four winds of the heavens, I have spread you abroad, An affirmation of Jehovah.

7 ¡ Sion, tú que moras con la hija de Babilonia, escápate!

Ho, Zion, be delivered who art dwelling the daughter of Babylon.

8 P orque así dice el Señor de los ejércitos, cuya gloria me ha enviado contra las naciones que los despojaron, porque el que los toca, toca la niña de Su ojo:

For thus said Jehovah of Hosts: After honour He hath sent me unto the nations who are spoiling you, For he who is coming against you, Is coming against the daughter of His eye.

9 “ Yo alzaré Mi mano contra ellas, y serán despojo para sus esclavos. Entonces sabrán que el Señor de los ejércitos Me ha enviado.

For lo, I am waving my hand against them, And they have been a spoil to their servants. And ye have known that Jehovah of Hosts hath sent me.

10 C anta de júbilo y alégrate, oh hija de Sion; porque voy a venir, y habitaré en medio de ti,” declara el Señor.

Singe, and rejoice, O daughter of Zion, For lo, I am coming, and have dwelt in thy midst, An affirmation of Jehovah.

11 Y muchas naciones se unirán al Señor aquel día, y serán Mi pueblo. Entonces habitaré en medio de ti, y sabrás que el Señor de los ejércitos Me ha enviado a ti.

And joined have been many nations unto Jehovah in that day, And they have been to Me for a people, And I have dwelt in thy midst, And thou hast known that Jehovah of Hosts hath sent me unto thee.

12 E l Señor poseerá a Judá, Su porción en la tierra santa, y escogerá de nuevo a Jerusalén.

And Jehovah hath inherited Judah, His portion on the holy ground, And He hath fixed again on Jerusalem.

13 G uarde silencio toda carne delante del Señor, porque El se ha levantado de Su santa morada.”

Hush, all flesh, because of Jehovah, For He hath been roused up from His holy habitation!'
