1 ¿ Qué diremos, entonces ? ¿Continuaremos en pecado para que la gracia abunde ?

What, then, shall we say? shall we continue in the sin that the grace may abound?

2 ¡ De ningún modo! Nosotros, que hemos muerto al pecado, ¿cómo viviremos aún en él ?

let it not be! we who died to the sin -- how shall we still live in it?

3 ¿ O no saben ustedes que todos los que hemos sido bautizados en Cristo Jesús, hemos sido bautizados en Su muerte?

are ye ignorant that we, as many as were baptized to Christ Jesus, to his death were baptized?

4 P or tanto, hemos sido sepultados con El por medio del bautismo para muerte, a fin de que como Cristo resucitó de entre los muertos por la gloria del Padre, así también nosotros andemos en novedad de vida.

we were buried together, then, with him through the baptism to the death, that even as Christ was raised up out of the dead through the glory of the Father, so also we in newness of life might walk.

5 P orque si hemos sido unidos a Cristo en la semejanza de Su muerte, ciertamente lo seremos también en la semejanza de Su resurrección.

For, if we have become planted together to the likeness of his death, also we shall be of the rising again;

6 S abemos esto, que nuestro viejo hombre fue crucificado con Cristo, para que nuestro cuerpo de pecado fuera destruido, a fin de que ya no seamos esclavos del pecado;

this knowing, that our old man was crucified with, that the body of the sin may be made useless, for our no longer serving the sin;

7 p orque el que ha muerto, ha sido libertado del pecado.

for he who hath died hath been set free from the sin.

8 Y si hemos muerto con Cristo, creemos que también viviremos con El,

And if we died with Christ, we believe that we also shall live with him,

9 s abiendo que Cristo, habiendo resucitado de entre los muertos, no volverá a morir; la muerte ya no tiene dominio sobre El.

knowing that Christ, having been raised up out of the dead, doth no more die, death over him hath no more lordship;

10 P orque en cuanto a que El murió, murió al pecado de una vez para siempre; pero en cuanto El vive, vive para Dios.

for in that he died, to the sin he died once, and in that he liveth, he liveth to God;

11 A sí también ustedes, considérense muertos para el pecado, pero vivos para Dios en Cristo Jesús. Siervos, no del Pecado, sino de la Justicia

so also ye, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to the sin, and living to God in Jesus Christ our Lord.

12 P or tanto, no reine el pecado en su cuerpo mortal para que ustedes no obedezcan a sus lujurias;

Let not then the sin reign in your mortal body, to obey it in its desires;

13 n i presenten los miembros de su cuerpo al pecado como instrumentos de iniquidad, sino preséntense ustedes mismos a Dios como vivos de entre los muertos, y sus miembros a Dios como instrumentos de justicia.

neither present ye your members instruments of unrighteousness to the sin, but present yourselves to God as living out of the dead, and your members instruments of righteousness to God;

14 P orque el pecado no tendrá dominio sobre ustedes, pues no están bajo la ley sino bajo la gracia. Libertados del Pecado

for sin over you shall not have lordship, for ye are not under law, but under grace.

15 ¿ Entonces qué? ¿Pecaremos porque no estamos bajo la ley, sino bajo la gracia ? ¡De ningún modo!

What then? shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? let it not be!

16 ¿ No saben ustedes que cuando se presentan como esclavos a alguien para obedecerle, son esclavos de aquél a quien obedecen, ya sea del pecado para muerte, o de la obediencia para justicia?

have ye not known that to whom ye present yourselves servants for obedience, servants ye are to him to whom ye obey, whether of sin to death, or of obedience to righteousness?

17 P ero gracias a Dios, que aunque ustedes eran esclavos del pecado, se hicieron obedientes de corazón a aquella forma de doctrina a la que fueron entregados,

and thanks to God, that ye were servants of the sin, and -- were obedient from the heart to the form of teaching to which ye were delivered up;

18 y habiendo sido libertados del pecado, ustedes se han hecho siervos de la justicia.

and having been freed from the sin, ye became servants to the righteousness.

19 H ablo en términos humanos, por causa de la debilidad de su carne. Porque de la manera que ustedes presentaron sus miembros como esclavos a la impureza y a la iniquidad, para iniquidad, así ahora presenten sus miembros como esclavos a la justicia, para santificación.

In the manner of men I speak, because of the weakness of your flesh, for even as ye did present your members servants to the uncleanness and to the lawlessness -- to the lawlessness, so now present your members servants to the righteousness -- to sanctification,

20 P orque cuando ustedes eran esclavos del pecado, eran libres en cuanto a la justicia.

for when ye were servants of the sin, ye were free from the righteousness,

21 ¿ Qué fruto tenían entonces en aquellas cosas de las cuales ahora se avergüenzan? Porque el fin de esas cosas es muerte.

what fruit, therefore, were ye having then, in the things of which ye are now ashamed? for the end of those death.

22 P ero ahora, habiendo sido libertados del pecado y hechos siervos de Dios, tienen por su fruto la santificación, y como resultado la vida eterna.

And now, having been freed from the sin, and having become servants to God, ye have your fruit -- to sanctification, and the end life age-during;

23 P orque la paga del pecado es muerte, pero la dádiva de Dios es vida eterna en Cristo Jesús Señor nuestro.

for the wages of the sin death, and the gift of God life age-during in Christ Jesus our Lord.
