1 E l Señor habló a Moisés y le dijo:

And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,

2 “ Di a los Israelitas que den la vuelta y acampen delante de Pi Hahirot, entre Migdol y el mar. Ustedes acamparán frente a Baal Zefón, en el lado opuesto, junto al mar.

`Speak unto the sons of Israel, and they turn back and encamp before Pi-Hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, before Baal-Zephon; over-against it ye do encamp by the sea,

3 P orque Faraón dirá de los Israelitas: ‘Andan vagando sin rumbo por la tierra. El desierto los ha encerrado.’

and Pharaoh hath said of the sons of Israel, They are entangled in the land, the wilderness hath shut upon them;

4 P ero Yo endureceré el corazón de Faraón, y él los perseguirá. Y seré glorificado por medio de Faraón y de todo su ejército, y sabrán los Egipcios que Yo soy el Señor.” Y así lo hicieron.

and I have strengthened the heart of Pharaoh, and he hath pursued after them, and I am honoured on Pharaoh, and on all his force, and the Egyptians have known that I Jehovah;' and they do so.

5 C uando le anunciaron al rey de Egipto que el pueblo había huido, Faraón y sus siervos cambiaron de actitud (corazón) hacia el pueblo, y dijeron: “¿Qué es esto que hemos hecho, que hemos permitido que Israel se fuera y dejaran de servirnos?”

And it is declared to the king of Egypt that the people hath fled, and the heart of Pharaoh and of his servants is turned against the people, and they say, `What this we have done? that we have sent Israel away from our service.'

6 F araón preparó su carro y tomó consigo a su gente.

And he harnesseth his chariot, and his people he hath taken with him,

7 T omó 600 carros escogidos, y todos los demás carros de Egipto, con oficiales sobre todos ellos.

and he taketh six hundred chosen chariots, even all the chariots of Egypt, and captains over them all;

8 E l Señor endureció el corazón de Faraón, rey de Egipto, y éste persiguió a los Israelitas, pero éstos habían salido con mano fuerte.

and Jehovah strengtheneth the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursueth after the sons of Israel, and the sons of Israel are going out with a high hand,

9 L os Egipcios los persiguieron con todos los caballos y carros de Faraón, su caballería y su ejército, y los alcanzaron acampados junto al mar, junto a Pi Hahirot, frente a Baal Zefón.

and the Egyptians pursue after them, and all the chariot horses of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his force, overtake them, encamping by the sea, by Pi-Hahiroth, before Baal-Zephon.

10 A l acercarse Faraón, los Israelitas alzaron los ojos, y vieron que los Egipcios marchaban tras ellos. Entonces los Israelitas tuvieron mucho miedo y clamaron al Señor.

And Pharaoh hath drawn near, and the sons of Israel lift up their eyes, and lo, the Egyptians are journeying after them, and they fear exceedingly, and the sons of Israel cry unto Jehovah.

11 Y dijeron a Moisés: “¿Acaso no había sepulcros en Egipto para que nos sacaras a morir en el desierto? ¿Por qué nos has tratado de esta manera, sacándonos de Egipto ?

And they say unto Moses, `Because there are no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in a wilderness? what is this thou hast done to us -- to bring us out from Egypt?

12 ¿ No es esto lo que te dijimos en Egipto: ‘Déjanos, para que sirvamos a los Egipcios’? Porque mejor nos hubiera sido servir a los Egipcios que morir en el desierto.”

Is not this the word which we spake unto thee in Egypt, saying, Cease from us, and we serve the Egyptians; for better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in a wilderness?'

13 P ero Moisés dijo al pueblo: “No teman; estén firmes y vean la salvación que el Señor hará hoy por ustedes. Porque los Egipcios a quienes han visto hoy, no los volverán a ver jamás.

And Moses saith unto the people, `Fear not, station yourselves, and see the salvation of Jehovah, which He doth for you to-day; for, as ye have seen the Egyptians to-day, ye add no more to see them -- to the age;

14 E l Señor peleará por ustedes mientras ustedes se quedan callados.”

Jehovah doth fight for you, and ye keep silent.'

15 E ntonces dijo el Señor a Moisés: “¿Por qué clamas a Mí? Di a los Israelitas que se pongan en marcha.

And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `What? thou criest unto Me -- speak unto the sons of Israel, and they journey;

16 Y tú, levanta tu vara y extiende tu mano sobre el mar y divídelo. Y los Israelitas pasarán por en medio del mar, sobre tierra seca.

and thou, lift up thy rod, and stretch out thy hand towards the sea, and cleave it, and the sons of Israel go into the midst of the sea on dry land.

17 P ero Yo endureceré el corazón de los Egipcios para que entren a perseguirlos. Me glorificaré en Faraón y en todo su ejército, en sus carros y en su caballería.

`And I -- lo, I am strengthening the heart of the Egyptians, and they go in after them, and I am honoured on Pharaoh, and on all his force, on his chariots, and on his horsemen;

18 E ntonces sabrán los Egipcios que Yo soy el Señor, cuando sea glorificado en Faraón, en sus carros y en su caballería.”

and the Egyptians have known that I Jehovah, in My being honoured on Pharaoh, on his chariots, and on his horsemen.'

19 E l ángel de Dios que había ido delante del campamento de Israel, se apartó, e iba detrás de ellos. La columna de nube que había ido delante de ellos, se apartó, y se les puso detrás,

And the messenger of God, who is going before the camp of Israel, journeyeth and goeth at their rear; and the pillar of the cloud journeyeth from their front, and standeth at their rear,

20 y vino a colocarse entre el campamento de Egipto y el campamento de Israel. La nube estaba junto con las tinieblas. Sin embargo, de noche alumbraba a Israel, y en toda la noche no se acercaron los unos a los otros. Paso del Mar Rojo

and cometh in between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel, and the cloud and the darkness are, and he enlighteneth the night, and the one hath not drawn near unto the other all the night.

21 M oisés extendió su mano sobre el mar, y el Señor, por medio de un fuerte viento del este que sopló toda la noche, hizo que el mar se retirara, y cambió el mar en tierra seca. Así quedaron divididas las aguas.

And Moses stretcheth out his hand towards the sea, and Jehovah causeth the sea to go on by a strong east wind all the night, and maketh the sea become dry ground, and the waters are cleaved,

22 L os Israelitas entraron por en medio del mar, en seco, y las aguas les eran como un muro a su derecha y a su izquierda.

and the sons of Israel go into the midst of the sea, on dry land, and the waters to them a wall, on their right and on their left.

23 E ntonces los Egipcios reanudaron la persecución, y entraron tras ellos en medio del mar todos los caballos de Faraón, sus carros y sus jinetes.

And the Egyptians pursue, and go in after them (all the horses of Pharaoh, his chariots, and his horsemen) unto the midst of the sea,

24 A la vigilia de la mañana (2 a 6 a. m.), el Señor miró el ejército de los Egipcios desde la columna de fuego y de nube, y sembró la confusión en el ejército de los Egipcios.

and it cometh to pass, in the morning watch, that Jehovah looketh unto the camp of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and of the cloud, and troubleth the camp of the Egyptians,

25 Y entorpeció las ruedas de sus carros, e hizo que avanzaran con dificultad. Entonces los Egipcios dijeron: “Huyamos ante Israel, porque el Señor pelea por ellos contra los Egipcios.” Dios Salva a Su pueblo con Poder

and turneth aside the wheels of their chariots, and they lead them with difficulty, and the Egyptians say, `Let us flee from the face of Israel, for Jehovah is fighting for them against the Egyptians.'

26 E ntonces el Señor dijo a Moisés: “Extiende tu mano sobre el mar para que las aguas vuelvan sobre los Egipcios, sobre sus carros y su caballería.”

And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Stretch out thy hand toward the sea, and the waters turn back on the Egyptians, on their chariots, and on their horsemen.'

27 Y Moisés extendió su mano sobre el mar, y al amanecer, el mar regresó a su estado normal, y los Egipcios al huir se encontraban con él. Así derribó el Señor a los Egipcios en medio del mar.

And Moses stretcheth out his hand towards the sea, and the sea turneth back, at the turning of the morning, to its perennial flow, and the Egyptians are fleeing at its coming, and Jehovah shaketh off the Egyptians in the midst of the sea,

28 L as aguas volvieron y cubrieron los carros y la caballería, a todo el ejército de Faraón que había entrado tras ellos en el mar. No quedó ni uno de ellos.

and the waters turn back, and cover the chariots and the horsemen, even all the force of Pharaoh, who are coming in after them into the sea -- there hath not been left of them even one.

29 P ero los Israelitas pasaron en seco por en medio del mar, y las aguas les eran como un muro a su derecha y a su izquierda.

And the sons of Israel have gone on dry land in the midst of the sea, and the waters to them a wall, on their right and on their left;

30 A quel día el Señor salvó a Israel de mano de los Egipcios. Israel vio a los Egipcios muertos a la orilla del mar.

and Jehovah saveth Israel in that day out of the hand of the Egyptians, and Israel seeth the Egyptians dead on the sea-shore,

31 C uando Israel vio el gran poder que el Señor había usado contra los Egipcios, el pueblo temió (reverenció) al Señor, y creyeron en el Señor y en Moisés, Su siervo.

and Israel seeth the great hand with which Jehovah hath wrought against the Egyptians, and the people fear Jehovah, and remain stedfast in Jehovah, and in Moses His servant.
