1 M oisés respondió: “¿Y si no me creen, ni escuchan mi voz ? Porque quizá digan: ‘No se te ha aparecido el Señor.’”

And Moses answereth and saith, `And, if they do not give credence to me, nor hearken to my voice, and say, Jehovah hath not appeared unto thee?'

2 Y el Señor le preguntó: “¿Qué es eso que tienes en la mano?” “Una vara,” respondió Moisés.

And Jehovah saith unto him, `What this in thy hand?' and he saith, `A rod;'

3 “ Echala en tierra,” le dijo el Señor. Y él la echó en tierra y se convirtió en una serpiente. Moisés huyó de ella;

and He saith, `Cast it to the earth;' and he casteth it to the earth, and it becometh a serpent -- and Moses fleeth from its presence.

4 p ero el Señor dijo a Moisés: “Extiende tu mano y agárra la por la cola.” El extendió la mano, la agarró, y se convirtió en una vara en su mano.

And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Put forth thy hand, and lay hold on the tail of it;' and he putteth forth his hand, and layeth hold on it, and it becometh a rod in his hand --

5 P or esto creerán que se te ha aparecido el Señor, Dios de sus padres, Dios de Abraham, Dios de Isaac, Dios de Jacob.

`-- so that they believe that Jehovah, God of their fathers, hath appeared unto thee, God of Abraham, God of Isaac, and God of Jacob.'

6 A hora mete la mano en tu seno,” añadió el Señor. Y Moisés metió la mano en su seno, y cuando la sacó, estaba leprosa, blanca como la nieve.

And Jehovah saith to him again, `Put in, I pray thee, thy hand into thy bosom;' and he putteth in his hand into his bosom, and he bringeth it out, and lo, his hand leprous as snow;

7 “ Vuelve a meter la mano en tu seno,” le dijo El. Y él volvió a meterla en su seno, y cuando la sacó, se había vuelto como el resto de su carne.

and He saith, `Put back thy hand unto thy bosom;' and he putteth back his hand unto his bosom, and he bringeth it out from his bosom, and lo, it hath turned back as his flesh --

8 Y sucederá que si no te creen, ni obedecen el testimonio (ni escuchan la voz) de la primera señal, quizá crean el testimonio de la segunda señal.

`-- and it hath come to pass, if they do not give credence to thee, and hearken not to the voice of the first sign, that they have given credence to the voice of the latter sign.

9 P ero si todavía no creen estas dos señales, ni escuchan tu voz, entonces sacarás agua del Nilo y la derramarás sobre la tierra seca; y el agua que saques del Nilo se convertirá en sangre sobre la tierra seca.”

`And it hath come to pass, if they do not give credence even to these two signs, nor hearken to thy voice, that thou hast taken of the waters of the River, and hast poured on the dry land, and the waters which thou takest from the River have been, yea, they have become -- blood on the dry land.'

10 E ntonces Moisés dijo al Señor: “Por favor, Señor, nunca he sido hombre elocuente. Ni ayer ni en tiempos pasados, ni aun después de que has hablado a Tu siervo; porque soy tardo en el habla y torpe de lengua.”

And Moses saith unto Jehovah, `O, my Lord, I not a man of words, either yesterday, or before, or since Thy speaking unto Thy servant, for I slow of mouth, and slow of tongue.'

11 Y el Señor le dijo: “¿Quién ha hecho la boca del hombre? ¿O quién hace al hombre mudo o sordo, con vista o ciego ? ¿No soy Yo, el Señor ?

And Jehovah saith unto him, `Who appointed a mouth for man? or who appointeth the dumb, or deaf, or open, or blind? is it not I, Jehovah?

12 A hora pues, ve, y Yo estaré con tu boca, y te enseñaré lo que has de hablar.”

and now, go, and I -- I am with thy mouth, and have directed thee that which thou speakest;'

13 P ero Moisés dijo: “Te ruego, Señor, envía ahora el mensaje por medio de quien Tú quieras.”

and he saith, `O, my Lord, send, I pray thee, by the hand Thou dost send.'

14 E ntonces se encendió la ira del Señor contra Moisés, y le dijo: “¿No está allí tu hermano Aarón, el Levita? Yo sé que él habla bien. Y además, ahora él sale a recibirte. Al verte, se alegrará en su corazón.

And the anger of Jehovah burneth against Moses, and He saith, `Is not Aaron the Levite thy brother? I have known that he speaketh well, and also, lo, he is coming out to meet thee; when he hath seen thee, then he hath rejoiced in his heart,

15 Y tú le hablarás, y pondrás las palabras en su boca. Yo estaré con tu boca y con su boca y les enseñaré lo que tienen que hacer.

and thou hast spoken unto him, and hast set the words in his mouth, and I -- I am with thy mouth, and with his mouth, and have directed you that which ye do;

16 A demás, Aarón hablará por ti al pueblo. El te servirá como boca y tú serás para él como Dios.

and he, he hath spoken for thee unto the people, and it hath come to pass, he -- he is to thee for a mouth, and thou -- thou art to him for God;

17 Y esta vara la llevarás en tu mano, y con ella harás las señales.” Moisés Regresa a Egipto

and this rod thou dost take in thy hand, with which thou doest the signs.'

18 M oisés se fue y volvió a casa de su suegro Jetro, y le dijo: “Te ruego que me dejes ir para volver a mis hermanos que están en Egipto, y ver si aún viven.” “Ve en paz,” le contestó Jetro.

And Moses goeth and turneth back unto Jethro his father-in-law, and saith to him, `Let me go, I pray thee, and I turn back unto my brethren who in Egypt, and I see whether they are yet alive.' And Jethro saith to Moses, `Go in peace.'

19 Y el Señor dijo a Moisés en Madián: “Ve, vuelve a Egipto, porque han muerto todos los hombres que buscaban tu vida.”

And Jehovah saith unto Moses in Midian, `Go, turn back to Egypt, for all the men have died who seek thy life;'

20 M oisés tomó a su mujer y a sus hijos, los montó sobre un asno y volvió a la tierra de Egipto. Moisés tomó también la vara de Dios en su mano.

and Moses taketh his wife, and his sons, and causeth them to ride on the ass, and turneth back to the land of Egypt, and Moses taketh the rod of God in his hand.

21 Y el Señor dijo a Moisés: “Cuando vuelvas a Egipto, mira que hagas delante de Faraón todas las maravillas que he puesto en tu mano. Pero Yo endureceré su corazón de modo que no dejará ir al pueblo.

And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `In thy going to turn back to Egypt, see -- all the wonders which I have put in thy hand -- that thou hast done them before Pharaoh, and I -- I strengthen his heart, and he doth not send the people away;

22 E ntonces dirás a Faraón: ‘Así dice el Señor: “Israel es Mi hijo, Mi primogénito.

and thou hast said unto Pharaoh, Thus said Jehovah, My son, My first-born Israel,

23 Y te he dicho: ‘Deja ir a Mi hijo para que Me sirva,’ pero te has negado a dejarlo ir. Por tanto mataré a tu hijo, a tu primogénito.”’”

and I say unto thee, Send away My son, and he doth serve Me; and -- thou dost refuse to send him away -- lo, I am slaying thy son, thy first-born.'

24 Y aconteció que en una posada en el camino, el Señor le salió al encuentro a Moisés y quiso matarlo.

And it cometh to pass in the way, in a lodging place, that Jehovah meeteth him, and seeketh to put him to death;

25 P ero Séfora tomó un pedernal, cortó el prepucio de su hijo y lo echó a los pies de Moisés, y le dijo: “Ciertamente tú eres para mí un esposo de sangre.”

and Zipporah taketh a flint, and cutteth off the foreskin of her son, and causeth to touch his feet, and saith, `Surely a bridegroom of blood thou to me;'

26 E ntonces Dios lo dejó. Pues ella había dicho: “ Eres esposo de sangre,” a causa de la circuncisión.

and He desisteth from him: then she said, `A bridegroom of blood,' in reference to the circumcision.

27 Y el Señor dijo a Aarón: “Ve al encuentro de Moisés en el desierto.” El fue y le salió al encuentro en el monte de Dios, y lo besó.

And Jehovah saith unto Aaron, `Go to meet Moses into the wilderness;' and he goeth, and meeteth him in the mount of God, and kisseth him,

28 M oisés contó a Aarón todas las palabras del Señor con las cuales le enviaba, y todas las señales que le había mandado hacer.

and Moses declareth to Aaron all the words of Jehovah with which He hath sent him, and all the signs with which He hath charged him.

29 E ntonces fueron Moisés y Aarón y reunieron a todos los ancianos de los Israelitas,

And Moses goeth -- Aaron also -- and they gather all the elders of the sons of Israel,

30 A arón les habló todas las palabras que Dios había hablado a Moisés. Este hizo entonces las señales en presencia del pueblo.

and Aaron speaketh all the words which Jehovah hath spoken unto Moses, and doth the signs before the eyes of the people;

31 E l pueblo creyó, y al oír que el Señor había visitado a los Israelitas y había visto su aflicción, se postraron y adoraron.

and the people believe when they hear that Jehovah hath looked after the sons of Israel, and that He hath seen their affliction; and they bow and do obeisance.
