1 T o the Overseer. -- A Psalm of David. I have diligently expected Jehovah, And He inclineth to me, and heareth my cry,

Esperé pacientemente al Señor, Y El se inclinó a mí y oyó mi clamor.

2 A nd He doth cause me to come up From a pit of desolation -- from mire of mud, And He raiseth up on a rock my feet, He is establishing my steps.

Me sacó del hoyo de la destrucción, del lodo cenagoso; Asentó mis pies sobre una roca y afirmó mis pasos.

3 A nd He putteth in my mouth a new song, `Praise to our God.' Many do see and fear, and trust in Jehovah.

Puso en mi boca un cántico nuevo, un canto de alabanza a nuestro Dios. Muchos verán esto, y temerán Y confiarán en el Señor.

4 O the happiness of the man Who hath made Jehovah his trust, And hath not turned unto the proud, And those turning aside to lies.

Cuán bienaventurado es el hombre que ha puesto en el Señor su confianza, Y no se ha vuelto a los soberbios ni a los que caen en falsedad.

5 M uch hast Thou done, Jehovah my God; Thy wonders and Thy thoughts toward us, There is none to arrange unto Thee, I declare and speak: They have been more than to be numbered.

Muchas son, Señor, Dios mío, las maravillas que Tú has hecho, Y muchos Tus designios para con nosotros; Nadie hay que se compare contigo; Si los anunciara, y hablara de ellos, No podrían ser enumerados.

6 S acrifice and present Thou hast not desired, Ears Thou hast prepared for me, Burnt and sin-offering Thou hast not asked.

Sacrificio y ofrenda de cereal no has deseado; Me has abierto los oídos; Holocausto y ofrenda por el pecado no has pedido.

7 T hen said I, `Lo, I have come,' In the roll of the book it is written of me,

Entonces dije: “Aquí estoy; En el rollo del libro está escrito de mí;

8 T o do Thy pleasure, my God, I have delighted, And Thy law within my heart.

Me deleito en hacer Tu voluntad, Dios mío; Tu ley está dentro de mi corazón.”

9 I have proclaimed tidings of righteousness In the great assembly, lo, my lips I restrain not, O Jehovah, Thou hast known.

He proclamado buenas nuevas de justicia en la gran congregación; No refrenaré mis labios, Oh Señor, Tú lo sabes.

10 T hy righteousness I have not concealed In the midst of my heart, Thy faithfulness and Thy salvation I have told, I have not hidden Thy kindness and Thy truth, To the great assembly.

No he escondido Tu justicia dentro de mi corazón; He proclamado Tu fidelidad y Tu salvación; No he ocultado a la gran congregación Tu misericordia y Tu fidelidad.

11 T hou, O Jehovah, restrainest not Thy mercies from me, Thy kindness and Thy truth do continually keep me.

Tú, oh Señor, no retengas Tu compasión de mí; Tu misericordia y Tu fidelidad me guarden continuamente,

12 F or compassed me have evils innumerable, Overtaken me have mine iniquities, And I have not been able to see; They have been more than the hairs of my head, And my heart hath forsaken me.

Porque me rodean males sin número; Mis iniquidades me han alcanzado, y no puedo ver; Son más numerosas que los cabellos de mi cabeza, Y el corazón me falla.

13 B e pleased, O Jehovah, to deliver me, O Jehovah, for my help make haste.

Ten a bien, oh Señor, libertarme; Apresúrate, Señor, a socorrerme.

14 T hey are ashamed and confounded together, Who are seeking my soul to destroy it, They are turned backward, And are ashamed, who are desiring my evil.

Sean avergonzados y humillados a una Los que buscan mi vida para destruirla; Sean vueltos atrás y cubiertos de ignominia Los que se complacen en mi mal.

15 T hey are desolate because of their shame, Who are saying to me, `Aha, aha.'

Queden atónitos a causa de su vergüenza Los que me dicen: “¡Ajá, ajá!”

16 A ll seeking Thee rejoice and are glad in Thee, Those loving Thy salvation say continually, `Jehovah is magnified.'

Regocíjense y alégrense en Ti todos los que Te buscan; Que los que aman Tu salvación digan continuamente: “¡Engrandecido sea el Señor!”

17 A nd I poor and needy, The Lord doth devise for me. My help and my deliverer Thou, O my God, tarry Thou not.

Por cuanto yo estoy afligido y necesitado, El Señor me tiene en cuenta. Tú eres mi ayuda y mi libertador; Dios mío, no Te tardes.
