1 A nd David hath passed on a little from the top, and lo, Ziba, servant of Mephibosheth -- to meet him, and a couple of asses saddled, and upon them two hundred loaves, and a hundred bunches of raisins, and a hundred summer-fruit, and a bottle of wine.

Cuando David pasó un poco más allá de la cumbre, vio que Siba, el criado de Mefiboset, salía a su encuentro con un par de asnos aparejados, y sobre ellos había doscientos panes, cien racimos de uvas pasas, cien frutas de verano y un odre de vino.

2 A nd the king saith unto Ziba, `What -- these to thee?' and Ziba saith, `The asses for the household of the king to ride on, and the bread and the summer-fruit for the young men to eat, and the wine for the wearied to drink in the wilderness.'

Y el rey dijo a Siba: “¿Para qué tienes esto?” Y Siba respondió: “Los asnos son para que monte la familia del rey, y el pan y la fruta de verano para que los jóvenes coman, y el vino para que beba cualquiera que se fatigue en el desierto.”

3 A nd the king saith, `And where the son of thy lord?' and Ziba saith unto the king, `Lo, he is abiding in Jerusalem, for he said, To-day do the house of Israel give back to me the kingdom of my father.'

Entonces el rey dijo: “¿Y dónde está el hijo de tu señor ?” Y Siba respondió al rey: “Está en Jerusalén, pues ha dicho: ‘Hoy la casa de Israel me devolverá el reino de mi padre.’”

4 A nd the king saith to Ziba, `Lo, thine all that Mephibosheth hath;' and Ziba saith, `I have bowed myself -- I find grace in thine eyes, my lord, O king.'

Y el rey dijo a Siba: “Mira, todo lo que pertenece a Mefiboset es tuyo.” Y Siba dijo: “Me inclino ante usted; que halle yo gracia ante sus ojos, oh rey, mi señor.”

5 A nd king David hath come in unto Bahurim, and lo, thence a man is coming out, of the family of the house of Saul, and his name Shimei, son of Gera, he cometh out, coming out and reviling;

Al llegar el rey David a Bahurim, entonces, salió de allí un hombre de la familia de la casa de Saúl que se llamaba Simei, hijo de Gera. Cuando salió, iba maldiciendo,

6 a nd he stoneth David with stones, and all the servants of king David, and all the people, and all the mighty men on his right and on his left.

y tiraba piedras a David y a todos los siervos del rey David, aunque todo el pueblo y todos los hombres valientes estaban a su derecha y a su izquierda.

7 A nd thus said Shimei in his reviling, `Go out, go out, O man of blood, and man of worthlessness!

Así decía Simei mientras maldecía: “¡Fuera, fuera, hombre sanguinario e indigno!

8 J ehovah hath turned back on thee all the blood of the house of Saul, in whose stead thou hast reigned, and Jehovah doth give the kingdom in to the hand of Absalom thy son; and lo, thou in thine evil, for a man of blood thou.'

El Señor ha hecho volver sobre ti toda la sangre derramada de la casa de Saúl, en cuyo lugar has reinado; el Señor ha entregado el reino en mano de tu hijo Absalón. Aquí estás prendido en tu propia maldad, porque eres hombre sanguinario.”

9 A nd Abishai son of Zeruiah saith unto the king, `Why doth this dead dog revile my lord the king? let me pass over, I pray thee, and I turn aside his head.'

Entonces Abisai, hijo de Sarvia, dijo al rey: “¿Por qué ha de maldecir este perro muerto a mi señor el rey ? Déjeme que vaya ahora y le corte la cabeza.”

10 A nd the king saith, `What -- to me and to you, O sons of Zeruiah? for -- let him revile; even because Jehovah hath said to him, Revile David; and who saith, Wherefore hast Thou done so?'

Pero el rey dijo: “¿Qué tengo yo que ver con ustedes, hijos de Sarvia? Si él maldice, y si el Señor le ha dicho: ‘Maldice a David,’ ¿quién, pues, le dirá: ‘¿Por qué has hecho esto ?’”

11 A nd David saith unto Abishai, and unto all his servants, `Lo, my son who came out of my bowels is seeking my life, and also surely now the Benjamite; leave him alone, and let him revile, for Jehovah hath said to him;

Entonces David dijo a Abisai y a todos sus siervos: “Mi hijo que salió de mis entrañas busca mi vida; ¿cuánto más entonces este Benjamita? Déjenlo, que siga maldiciendo, porque el Señor se lo ha dicho.

12 i t may be Jehovah doth look on mine affliction, and Jehovah hath turned back to me good for his reviling this day.'

Quizá el Señor mire mi aflicción y me devuelva bien por su maldición de hoy.”

13 A nd David goeth with his men in the way, and Shimei is going at the side of the hill over-against him, going on, and he revileth, and stoneth with stones over-against him, and hath dusted with dust.

Así pues, David y sus hombres siguieron su camino; y Simei iba por el lado del monte paralelo a él, y mientras iba lo maldecía, le tiraba piedras y le arrojaba polvo.

14 A nd the king cometh in, and all the people who with him, wearied, and they are refreshed there.

Y el rey y todo el pueblo que iba con él llegaron al Jordán fatigados, y allí descansaron.

15 A nd Absalom and all the people, the men of Israel, have come in to Jerusalem, and Ahithophel with him,

Entonces Absalón y todo el pueblo, los hombres de Israel, entraron en Jerusalén, y Ahitofel con él.

16 a nd it cometh to pass, when Hushai the Archite, David's friend, hath come unto Absalom, that Hushai saith unto Absalom, `Let the king live! let the king live!'

Sucedió que cuando Husai el Arquita, amigo de David, vino a Absalón, Husai dijo a Absalón: “¡Viva el rey! ¡Viva el rey!”

17 A nd Absalom saith unto Hushai, `This thy kindness with thy friend! why hast thou not gone with thy friend?'

Y Absalón dijo a Husai: “¿Es ésta tu lealtad para con tu amigo? ¿Por qué no fuiste con tu amigo ?”

18 A nd Hushai saith unto Absalom, `Nay, for he whom Jehovah hath chosen, and this people, even all the men of Israel, his I am, and with him I abide;

Respondió Husai a Absalón: “No, pues a quien el Señor, este pueblo y todos los hombres de Israel han escogido, de él seré, y con él me quedaré.

19 a nd secondly, for whom do I labour? is it not before his son? as I served before thy father so am I before thee.'

Además, ¿a quién debería yo servir? ¿No habría de ser en la presencia de su hijo? Tal como he servido delante de tu padre, así seré delante de ti.”

20 A nd Absalom saith unto Ahithophel, `Give for you counsel what we do.'

Entonces Absalón dijo a Ahitofel: “Den ustedes su consejo. ¿Qué debemos hacer?”

21 A nd Ahithophel saith unto Absalom, `Go in unto the concubines of thy father, whom he left to keep the house, and all Israel hath heard that thou hast been abhorred by thy father, and the hands of all who with thee have been strong.'

Y Ahitofel respondió a Absalón: “Lléguese a las concubinas de su padre, a quienes él ha dejado para guardar la casa. Entonces todo Israel sabrá que usted ha hecho odioso a su padre, y las manos de todos los que están con usted se fortalecerán.”

22 A nd they spread out for Absalom the tent on the roof, and Absalom goeth in unto the concubines of his father before the eyes of all Israel.

Levantaron, pues, una tienda en el terrado para Absalón, y él se llegó a las concubinas de su padre a la vista de todo Israel.

23 A nd the counsel of Ahithophel which he counselled in those days as one inquireth at the word of God; so all the counsel of Ahithophel both to David and to Absalom.

El consejo que Ahitofel daba en aquellos días era como si uno consultara la palabra de Dios. Así era considerado todo consejo de Ahitofel tanto por David como por Absalón.
