1 A nd David hath passed on a little from the top, and lo, Ziba, servant of Mephibosheth -- to meet him, and a couple of asses saddled, and upon them two hundred loaves, and a hundred bunches of raisins, and a hundred summer-fruit, and a bottle of wine.

Davidi sapo e kishte kaluar majën e malit; kur ja, Tsiba, shërbëtor i Mefiboshethit, i doli përpara me gomarë me samar dhe të ngarkuar me dyqind bukë, njëqind vile rrushi të thatë, njëqind fruta vere dhe një calik me verë.

2 A nd the king saith unto Ziba, `What -- these to thee?' and Ziba saith, `The asses for the household of the king to ride on, and the bread and the summer-fruit for the young men to eat, and the wine for the wearied to drink in the wilderness.'

Mbreti i tha Tsibas: "Ç’ke ndërmënd të bësh me këto gjëra?". Tsiba iu përgjigj: "Gomarët do t’i shërbejnë shtëpisë së mbretit për të hipur; buka dhe frutat e verës do të përdoren për të ushqyer të rinjtë, dhe vera do të pihet nga ata që do të jenë të lodhur në shkretëtirë".

3 A nd the king saith, `And where the son of thy lord?' and Ziba saith unto the king, `Lo, he is abiding in Jerusalem, for he said, To-day do the house of Israel give back to me the kingdom of my father.'

Mbreti tha: "Ku është biri i zotërisë tënd?". Tsiba iu përgjigj mbretit: Ja, mbeti në Jeruzalem, sepse tha: "Sot shtëpia e Izraelit do të më kthejë mbretërinë e atit tim"".

4 A nd the king saith to Ziba, `Lo, thine all that Mephibosheth hath;' and Ziba saith, `I have bowed myself -- I find grace in thine eyes, my lord, O king.'

Atëherë mbreti i tha Tsibas: "Ja, të gjitha ato që janë pronë e Mefiboshethit janë të tua". Tsiba iu përgjigj: "Unë po bie përmbys para teje. Paça hirin tënd, o mbret, o imzot!".

5 A nd king David hath come in unto Bahurim, and lo, thence a man is coming out, of the family of the house of Saul, and his name Shimei, son of Gera, he cometh out, coming out and reviling;

Kur mbreti David arriti në Bahurim, që andej doli një njeri që ishte i fisit të shtëpisë së Saulit, ai quhej Shimei dhe ishte bir i Gerit. Ai po dilte duke shqiptuar mallkime,

6 a nd he stoneth David with stones, and all the servants of king David, and all the people, and all the mighty men on his right and on his left.

dhe hidhte gurë kundër Davidit dhe gjithë shërbëtorëve të mbretit David, ndërsa tërë populli dhe tërë trimat ishin radhitur në të djathtë dhe në të majtë të mbretit.

7 A nd thus said Shimei in his reviling, `Go out, go out, O man of blood, and man of worthlessness!

Ndërsa mallkonte, Shimei thoshte: "Shko, pra, shko, njeri gjakatar dhe i kobshëm!

8 J ehovah hath turned back on thee all the blood of the house of Saul, in whose stead thou hast reigned, and Jehovah doth give the kingdom in to the hand of Absalom thy son; and lo, thou in thine evil, for a man of blood thou.'

Zoti ka bërë që mbi kokën tënde të bjerë gjaku i shtëpisë së Saulit, në vend të cilit ti ke mbretëruar; dhe Zoti e ka dhënë mbretërinë në duart e Absalomit, birit tënd; dhe ja, tani je bërë rob i vetë ligësisë sate, sepse je njeri gjakatar".

9 A nd Abishai son of Zeruiah saith unto the king, `Why doth this dead dog revile my lord the king? let me pass over, I pray thee, and I turn aside his head.'

Atëherë Abishai, bir i Tserajahut, i tha mbretit: "Pse ky qen i ngordhur duhet të mallkojë mbretin, zotërinë time? Të lutem, më lër të shkoj t’i pres kokën!".

10 A nd the king saith, `What -- to me and to you, O sons of Zeruiah? for -- let him revile; even because Jehovah hath said to him, Revile David; and who saith, Wherefore hast Thou done so?'

Por mbreti iu përgjigj: "Ç’kam të bëj unë me ju, bijtë e Tserujahut? Prandaj lëreni të mallkojë, sepse Zoti i ka thënë: "Mallko Davidin!". Dhe kush mund të thotë: "Pse silleni kështu?"

11 A nd David saith unto Abishai, and unto all his servants, `Lo, my son who came out of my bowels is seeking my life, and also surely now the Benjamite; leave him alone, and let him revile, for Jehovah hath said to him;

Pastaj Davidi i tha Abishait dhe tërë shërbëorëve të tij: "Ja, im bir, që ka dalë nga barku im, kërkon të më heqë jetën aq më shumë dhe ky Beniaminit! Lëreni të rrijë dhe të mallkojë, sepse ia ka urdhëruar Zoti.

12 i t may be Jehovah doth look on mine affliction, and Jehovah hath turned back to me good for his reviling this day.'

Ndoshta Zoti do ta shohë hidhërimin tim dhe do të më bëjë të mira në vend të mallkimeve që më drejton sot".

13 A nd David goeth with his men in the way, and Shimei is going at the side of the hill over-against him, going on, and he revileth, and stoneth with stones over-against him, and hath dusted with dust.

Kështu Davidi dhe njerëzit e tij e vazhduan rrugën e tyre; edhe Shimei ecte anës së malit, përballë Davidit, dhe rrugës e mallkonte atë, i hidhte gurë dhe pluhur.

14 A nd the king cometh in, and all the people who with him, wearied, and they are refreshed there.

Mbreti dhe tërë njerëzit që ishin me të arritën në vendin e caktuar të lodhur, dhe aty e morën veten.

15 A nd Absalom and all the people, the men of Israel, have come in to Jerusalem, and Ahithophel with him,

Ndërkohë Absalomi dhe tërë populli, njerëzit e Izraelit, kishin hyrë në Jeruzalem; Ahithofeli ishte me të.

16 a nd it cometh to pass, when Hushai the Archite, David's friend, hath come unto Absalom, that Hushai saith unto Absalom, `Let the king live! let the king live!'

Kur Hushai, Arkiti, miku i Davidit, arriti tek Absalomi, Hushai i tha Absalomit: "Rroftë mbreti! Rroftë mbreti!".

17 A nd Absalom saith unto Hushai, `This thy kindness with thy friend! why hast thou not gone with thy friend?'

Absalomi i tha Hushait: "Kjo është dashuria që ke për mikun tënd? Pse nuk shkove me mikun tënd?".

18 A nd Hushai saith unto Absalom, `Nay, for he whom Jehovah hath chosen, and this people, even all the men of Israel, his I am, and with him I abide;

Hushai iu përgjigj Absalomit: "Jo, unë do të jem me atë që Zoti, gjithë ky popull dhe tërë njerëzit e Izraelit kanë zgjedhur, dhe do të mbetem me të.

19 a nd secondly, for whom do I labour? is it not before his son? as I served before thy father so am I before thee.'

A nuk duhet vallë, të vihem në shërbim të birit të tij? Ashtu si i kam shërbyer atit tënd, në të njëjtën mënyrë do të të shërbej edhe ty".

20 A nd Absalom saith unto Ahithophel, `Give for you counsel what we do.'

Atëherë Absalomi i tha Ahithofelit: "Jepni këshillën tuaj! Ç’duhet të bëjmë?".

21 A nd Ahithophel saith unto Absalom, `Go in unto the concubines of thy father, whom he left to keep the house, and all Israel hath heard that thou hast been abhorred by thy father, and the hands of all who with thee have been strong.'

Ahithofeli iu përgjigj kështu Absalomit: "Hyrë te konkubinat e atit tënd që ai ka lënë për të ruajtur shtëpinë, kështu tërë Izraeli do të mësojë që je bërë i urryer për atin tënd dhe ata që janë me ty do të marrin guxim".

22 A nd they spread out for Absalom the tent on the roof, and Absalom goeth in unto the concubines of his father before the eyes of all Israel.

Ngritën pastaj një çadër mbi taracën për Absalomin, dhe Absalomi hyri te konkubinat e atit të tij në sytë e tërë Izraelit.

23 A nd the counsel of Ahithophel which he counselled in those days as one inquireth at the word of God; so all the counsel of Ahithophel both to David and to Absalom.

Në ato ditë, këshilla e dhënë nga Ahithofeli kishte po atë vlerë të atij që kishte konsultuar fjalën e Perëndisë. Këtë vlerë kishte çdo këshillë e Ahithofelit si për Davidin ashtu dhe për Absalomin.
