1 A nd Huram king of Tyre sendeth messengers unto David, and cedar-wood, and artificers of walls, and artificers of wood, to build to him a house.

Hirami, mbret i Tiros, i dërgoi Davidit lajmëtarë, dru kedri, muratorë, dhe marangozë për t’i ndërtuar një shtëpi.

2 A nd David knoweth that Jehovah hath established him for king over Israel, because of the lifting up on high of his kingdom, for the sake of His people Israel.

Atëherë Davidi e pranoi që Zoti e kishte vendosur mbret të Izraelit, sepse mbretëria e tij qe lavdëruar shumë për shkak të popullit të tij, Izraelit.

3 A nd David taketh again wives in Jerusalem, and David begetteth again sons and daughters;

Davidi u martua me gra të tjera në Jeruzalem dhe i lindën djem e vajza.

4 a nd these the names of the children whom he hath in Jerusalem: Shammua, and Shobab, Nathan, and Solomon,

Këto janë emrat e bijve që i lindën në Jeruzalem: Shamua, Shohabi, Salomoni,

5 a nd Ibhar, and Elishua, and Elpalet,

Ibhari, Elishua, Elpeleti,

6 a nd Nogah, and Nepheg, and Japhia,

Nagahu, Nefegu, Jafia,

7 a nd Elishama, and Beeliada, and Eliphalet.

Elishama, Beelida dhe Elifeleti.

8 A nd the Philistines hear that David hath been anointed for king over all Israel, and all the Philistines go up to seek David, and David heareth, and goeth out before them.

Kur Filistejtë mësuan që Davidi ishte vajosur mbret i tërë Izraelit, dolën të gjithë në kërkim të Davidit. Sa e mësoi këtë, Davidi u doli përballë.

9 A nd the Philistines have come, and rush into the valley of Rephaim,

Filistejtë arritën dhe u përhapën në luginën e Refaimit.

10 a nd David asketh of God, saying, `Do I go up against the Philistines -- and hast Thou given them into my hand?' And Jehovah saith to him, `Go up, and I have given them into thy hand.'

Atëherë Davidi u këshillua me Perëndinë, duke thënë: A duhet të dal kundër Filistejve? A do të m’i japësh në duart e mia?". Zoti u përgjigj: Dil dhe unë do t’i jap në duart e tuaa".

11 A nd they go up into Baal-Perazim, and David smiteth them there, and David saith, `God hath broken up mine enemies by my hand, like the breaking up of waters;' therefore they have called the name of that place Baal-Perazim.

Ata dolën në Baal-Peratsim, ku Davidi i mundi dhe tha: "Perëndia ka hapur me duart e mia një kalim midis armiqve të mi, si një kalim i hapur nga ujërat". Prandaj i vunë këtij vendi emrin e Baal-Peratsimit.

12 A nd they leave there their gods, and David speaketh, and they are burnt with fire.

Filistejtë braktisën aty perënditë e tyre dhe Davidi urdhëroi që të digjeshin në zjarr.

13 A nd the Philistines add again, and rush into the valley,

Më vonë Filistejtë filluan të shpërndahen nëpër luginë.

14 a nd David asketh again of God, and God saith to him, `Do not go up after them, turn round from them, and thou hast come to them from over-against the mulberries;

Davidi u këshillua përsëri me Perëndinë, dhe Perëndia i tha: "Mos u dil prapa, por merru krahët dhe sulu mbi ta përballë ballsameve.

15 a nd it cometh to pass, when thou hearest the sound of the stepping at the heads of the mulberries, then thou goest out into battle, for God hath gone out before thee to smite the camp of the Philistines.'

Kur të dëgjosh një zhurmë hapash në majat e ballsameve, hidhu menjëherë në sulm, sepse Perëndia do të të dalë përpara për të mundur ushtrinë e Filistejve".

16 A nd David doth as God commanded him, and they smite the camp of the Philistines from Gibeon even unto Gazer;

Davidi bëri ashtu siç e kishte urdhëruar Perëndia, dhe ata mundën ushtrinë e Filistejve nga Gabaoni deri në Gezer.

17 a nd the name of David goeth out into all the lands, and Jehovah hath put his fear on all the nations.

Kështu fama e Davidit u përhap në të gjitha vendet, dhe Zoti solli tmerrin e tij mbi të gjitha kombet.
