1 A nd all the company of the sons of Israel journey from the wilderness of Sin, on their journeyings, by the command of Jehovah, and encamp in Rephidim, and there is no water for the people to drink;

Pastaj tërë asambleja e bijve të Izraelit u nis nga shkretëtira e Sinit, duke marshuar me etapa sipas urdhrave të Zotit, dhe u vendos në Redifim. Por nuk kishte ujë të pijshëm për popullin.

2 a nd the people strive with Moses, and say, `Give us water, and we drink.' And Moses saith to them, `What? -- ye strive with me, what? -- ye try Jehovah?'

Atëherë populli u grind me Moisiun dhe i tha: "Na jep ujë për të pirë". Moisiu u përgjigj: "Pse grindeni me mua? Pse tundoni Zotin?".

3 a nd the people thirst there for water, and the people murmur against Moses, and say, `Why this? -- thou hast brought us up out of Egypt, to put us to death, also our sons and our cattle, with thirst.'

Atje populli pati etje për ujë dhe murmuriti kundër Moisiut, duke thënë: Pse na bëre të ikim nga Egjipti që të vdesim nga etja ne, bijtë tanë dhee bagëtia jonë?".

4 A nd Moses crieth to Jehovah, saying, `What do I to this people? yet a little, and they have stoned me.'

Kështu Moisiu i thirri Zotit, duke i thënë: "Çfarë të bëj për këtë popull? Edhe pak dhe ata do të më vrasin me gurë".

5 A nd Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Pass over before the people, and take with thee of the elders of Israel, and thy rod with which thou hast smitten the River take in thy hand, and thou hast gone:

Zoti i tha Moisiut: "Kalo para popullit dhe merr me vete disa pleq nga Izraeli; merr në dorë edhe bastunin me të cilin rrahe lumin, dhe nisu.

6 L o, I am standing before thee there on the rock in Horeb, and thou hast smitten on the rock, and waters have come out from it, and the people have drunk.' And Moses doth so before the eyes of the elders of Israel,

Ja, unë do të rri përpara teje, atje mbi shkëmbin në Horeb; ti do të rrahësh shkëmbin, prej të cilit do të burojë ujë dhe populli do të pijë". Kështu bëri Moisiu para syve të pleqve të Izraelit.

7 a nd he calleth the name of the place Massah, and Meribah, because of the `strife' of the sons of Israel, and because of their `trying' Jehovah, saying, `Is Jehovah in our midst or not?'

Prandaj e quajti këtë vend Masa dhe Meriba për shkak të grindjeve që pati me bijtë e Izraelit, dhe sepse kishin tunduar Zotin, duke thënë: "A është vallë Zoti në mes nesh, apo jo?".

8 A nd Amalek cometh, and fighteth with Israel in Rephidim,

Atëherë erdhi Amaleku për të luftuar kundër Izraelit në Refidim.

9 a nd Moses saith unto Joshua, `Choose for us men, and go out, fight with Amalek: to-morrow I am standing on the top of the hill, and the rod of God in my hand.'

Dhe Moisiu i tha Jozueut: "Zgjidh për ne disa burra dhe dil për të luftuar kundër Amalekut; nesër do të jem në majë të kodrës me shkopin e Perëndisë në dorë".

10 A nd Joshua doth as Moses hath said to him, to fight with Amalek, and Moses, Aaron, and Hur, have gone up the top of the height;

Jozueu bëri ashtu siç i kishte thënë Moisiu dhe luftoi kundër Amalekut, ndërsa Moisiu, Aaroni dhe Huri u ngjitën në majë të kodrës.

11 a nd it hath come to pass, when Moses lifteth up his hand, that Israel hath been mighty, and when he letteth his hands rest, that Amalek hath been mighty.

Dhe ndodhi që, kur Moisiu ngrinte dorën e tij, Izraeli fitonte; përkundrazi, kur e ulte dorën, fitonte Amaleku.

12 A nd the hands of Moses heavy, and they take a stone, and set under him, and he sitteth on it: and Aaron and Hur have taken hold on his hands, on this side one, and on that one, and his hands are stedfast till the going in of the sun;

Por duart e Moisiut ishin rënduar, kështu që ata morën një gur dhe ia vunë poshtë, ai u ul mbi të ndërsa Aaroni dhe Huri ia mbanin duart, njëri nga një krah, tjetri nga krahu tjetër; kështu duart e tij mbetën të palëvizura deri në perëndimin e diellit.

13 a nd Joshua weakeneth Amalek and his people by the mouth of the sword.

Prandaj Jozueu mundi Amalekun dhe njerëzit e tij, duke i prerë me shpata.

14 A nd Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Write this, a memorial in a Book, and set in the ears of Joshua, that I do utterly wipe away the remembrance of Amalek from under the heavens;'

Pastaj Zoti i tha Moisiut: "Shkruaje këtë ngjarje në një libër, që të mos harrohet kurrë, dhe njofto Jozueun që unë do ta fshij fare kujtimin e Amalekut nën qiellin".

15 a nd Moses buildeth an altar, and calleth its name Jehovah-Nissi,

Moisiu ndërtoi pastaj një altar, të cilit i vuri emrin: "Zoti është flamuri im"; dhe tha:

16 a nd saith, `Because a hand on the throne of Jah, war to Jehovah with Amalek from generation -- generation.'

"Dora u ngrit kundër fronit të Zotit, dhe Zoti do t’i bëjë luftë Amalekut brez pas brezi".
