1 A nd Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, turned back from the Jordan, and was brought in the Spirit to the wilderness,

Dhe Jezusi, plot me Frymën e Shenjtë, u kthye nga Jordani dhe Fryma e çoi në shkretëtirë,

2 f orty days being tempted by the Devil, and he did not eat anything in those days, and they having been ended, he afterward hungered,

ku për dyzet ditë e tundoi djalli; gjatë atyre ditëve ai nuk hëngri asgjë, por kur ato kaluan, e mori uria.

3 a nd the Devil said to him, `If Son thou art of God, speak to this stone that it may become bread.'

Dhe djalli i tha: “Nëse je Biri i Perëndisë, i thuaj këtij guri të bëhet bukë.”

4 A nd Jesus answered him, saying, `It hath been written, that, not on bread only shall man live, but on every saying of God.'

Por Jezusi u përgjigj duke thënë: “Éshtë shkruar: "Njeriu nuk do të rrojë vetëm me bukë, por me çdo fjalë të Perëndisë".”

5 A nd the Devil having brought him up to an high mountain, shewed to him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time,

Pastaj djalli e çoi në një mal të lartë dhe, për një çast, i tregoi të gjitha mbretëritë e botës.

6 a nd the Devil said to him, `To thee I will give all this authority, and their glory, because to me it hath been delivered, and to whomsoever I will, I do give it;

Dhe djalli i tha: “Unë do të të jap gjithë pushtetin e këtyre mbretërive dhe lavdinë e tyre, sepse m’u dha mua në dorë dhe unë ia jap kujt të dua.

7 t hou, then, if thou mayest bow before me -- all shall be thine.'

Në qoftë se ti, pra, duke rënë përmbys, më adhuron, do të jetë krejt jotja.”

8 A nd Jesus answering him said, `Get thee behind me, Adversary, for it hath been written, Thou shalt bow before the Lord thy God, and Him only thou shalt serve.'

Por Jezusi, duke u përgjigjur, i tha: “Largohu prej meje, Satana. Éshtë shkruar: "Adhuro Zotin, Përëndinë tënd dhe shërbeji vetëm atij".”

9 A nd he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to him, `If the Son thou art of God, cast thyself down hence,

Pastaj e çoi në Jeruzalem, e vuri në majë të tempullit, në cep, dhe i tha: “Nëse je Biri i Perëndisë, hidhu poshtë që këtej;

10 f or it hath been written -- To His messengers He will give charge concerning thee, to guard over thee,

sepse është shkruar: "Ai do t’u urdhërojë engjëjve të vet rreth teje të të ruajnë.

11 a nd -- On hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou mayest dash against a stone thy foot.'

Dhe ata do të të mbajnë mbi duart e tyre që këmba jote të mos ndeshë me asnjë gur".”

12 A nd Jesus answering said to him -- `It hath been said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.'

Dhe Jezusi u përgjigj dhe i tha: “Éshtë thënë: "Mos e tundo Zotin, Perëndinë tënd".”

13 A nd having ended all temptation, the Devil departed from him till a convenient season.

Dhe kur djalli i mbaroi të gjitha tundimet, u largua prej tij, për një farë kohe.

14 A nd Jesus turned back in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, and a fame went forth through all the region round about concerning him,

Dhe Jezusi, në fuqinë e Frymës, u kthye në Galile dhe fama e tij u përhap në mbarë krahinën përreth.

15 a nd he was teaching in their synagogues, being glorified by all.

Dhe ai mësonte në sinagogat e tyre, i nderuar nga të gjithë.

16 A nd he came to Nazareth, where he hath been brought up, and he went in, according to his custom, on the sabbath-day, to the synagogue, and stood up to read;

Pastaj erdhi në Nazaret, ku ishte rritur, dhe si e kishte zakon ditën e shtunë, hyri në sinagogë dhe u ngrit për të lexuar.

17 a nd there was given over to him a roll of Isaiah the prophet, and having unfolded the roll, he found the place where it hath been written:

I dhanë në dorë librin e profetit Isaia; e hapi dhe gjeti vendin ku ishte shkruar:

18 ` The Spirit of the Lord upon me, Because He did anoint me; To proclaim good news to the poor, Sent me to heal the broken of heart, To proclaim to captives deliverance, And to blind receiving of sight, To send away the bruised with deliverance,

“Fryma e Zotit është mbi mua, sepse ai më vajosi për të ungjillizuar të varfërit; ai më dërgoi për të shëruar ata që e kanë zemrën të thyer, për të shpallur çlirimin e të burgosurve dhe kthimin e të parit të verbërve, për të çliruar përsëri të shtypurit,

19 T o proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.'

dhe për të predikuar vitin e pranueshëm të Zotit.”

20 A nd having folded the roll, having given back to the officer, he sat down, and the eyes of all in the synagogue were gazing on him.

Pastaj, si e mbylli librin dhe ia dha shërbyesit, u ul; dhe sytë e të gjithëve në sinagogë u drejtuan mbi të.

21 A nd he began to say unto them -- `To-day hath this writing been fulfilled in your ears;'

Atëherë ai nisi të thotë: “Sot ky Shkrim u përmbush në veshët tuaja.”

22 a nd all were bearing testimony to him, and were wondering at the gracious words that are coming forth out of his mouth, and they said, `Is not this the son of Joseph?'

Dhe të gjithë jepnin dëshmi dhe mrekulloheshin për fjalët e hirit që dilnin nga goja e tij, dhe thoshnin: “Po ky, a nuk është biri i Jozefit?.”

23 A nd he said unto them, `Certainly ye will say to me this simile, Physician, heal thyself; as great things as we heard done in Capernaum, do also here in thy country;'

Dhe ai u tha atyre: “Me siguri ju do të më përmendni fjalën e urtë: Mjek, shëro veten tëndee"; të gjitha ato që dëgjuam se u bënë në Kapernaum, bëji edhe këtu në atdheun tënd.”

24 a nd he said, `Verily I say to you -- No prophet is accepted in his own country;

Por ai tha: “Në të vërtetë po ju them se asnjë profet nuk mirëpritet në atdheun e vet.

25 a nd of a truth I say to you, Many widows were in the days of Elijah, in Israel, when the heaven was shut for three years and six months, when great famine came on all the land,

Në të vërtetë po ju them se në kohën e Elias, kur qielli u mbyll për tre vjet e gjashtë muaj dhe u bë një uri e madhe në gjithë vendin, ishin shumë të veja në Izrael;

26 a nd unto none of them was Elijah sent, but -- to Sarepta of Sidon, unto a woman, a widow;

e megjithatë tek asnjëra nga ato nuk u dërgua Elia, përveç se te një grua e ve në Sareptë të Sidonit.

27 a nd many lepers were in the time of Elisha the prophet, in Israel, and none of them was cleansed, but -- Naaman the Syrian.'

Dhe në kohën e profetit Elize kishte shumë lebrozë në Izrael; megjithatë asnjë prej tyre nuk u pastrua, përveç Naamanit Sirian.”

28 A nd all in the synagogue were filled with wrath, hearing these things,

Kur i dëgjuan këto fjalë, të gjithë ata që ishin në sinagogë u zemëruan shumë.

29 a nd having risen, they put him forth without the city, and brought him unto the brow of the hill on which their city had been built -- to cast him down headlong,

Dhe u ngritën, e dëbuan nga qyteti dhe e çuan deri në buzë të majës së malit, mbi të cilin ishte ndërtuar qyteti i tyre, për ta hedhur poshtë.

30 a nd he, having gone through the midst of them, went away.

Por ai, duke kaluar përmes tyre, u largua.

31 A nd he came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and was teaching them on the sabbaths,

Pastaj zbriti në Kapernaum, qytet i Galilesë, dhe i mësonte njerëzit ditët e shtuna.

32 a nd they were astonished at his teaching, because his word was with authority.

Dhe ata habiteshin nga mësimi i tij, sepse fjala e tij ishte me autoritet.

33 A nd in the synagogue was a man, having a spirit of an unclean demon, and he cried out with a great voice,

Në sinagogë ishte një njeri që ishte pushtuar me frymën e një demoni të ndyrë. Ai bërtiti me zë të lartë duke thënë:

34 s aying, `Away, what -- to us and to thee, Jesus, O Nazarene? thou didst come to destroy us; I have known thee who thou art -- the Holy One of God.'

“Ah, ç’ka mes nesh dhe teje, o Jezus Nazareas? A erdhe të na shkatërrosh? Unë e di se kush je ti: i Shenjti i Perëndisë!.”

35 A nd Jesus did rebuke him, saying, `Be silenced, and come forth out of him;' and the demon having cast him into the midst, came forth from him, having hurt him nought;

Por Jezusi e qortoi duke thënë: “Hesht dhe dil prej tij!.” Dhe demoni, pasi e përplasi përpara tyre, doli prej tij pa i bërë asgjë të keqe.

36 a nd amazement came upon all, and they were speaking together, with one another, saying, `What this word, that with authority and power he doth command the unclean spirits, and they come forth?'

Atëherë të gjithë i pushtoi habia dhe i thoshin njëri-tjetrit: “Ç’fjalë është kjo, vallë? Ai urdhëron me autoritet dhe pushtet frymërat e ndyra dhe ata dalin!.”

37 a nd there was going forth a fame concerning him to every place of the region round about.

Dhe fama e tij përhapej në çdo vend të krahinës përreth.

38 A nd having risen out of the synagogue, he entered into the house of Simon, and the mother-in-law of Simon was pressed with a great fever, and they did ask him about her,

Mbasi doli nga sinagoga, Jezusi hyri në shtëpinë e Simonit. Vjehrrën e Simonit e kishin zënë ethe të forta; dhe ata e lutën për të.

39 a nd having stood over her, he rebuked the fever, and it left her, and presently, having risen, she was ministering to them.

Ai u përkul mbi të, qortoi ethet dhe ato e lëshuan; dhe ajo u ngrit menjëherë dhe filloi t’u shërbejë.

40 A nd at the setting of the sun, all, as many as had any ailing with manifold sicknesses, brought them unto him, and he on each one of them hands having put, did heal them.

Kur perëndoi dielli, të gjithë ata që kishin të sëmurë me sëmundje të ndryshme i prunë tek ai; dhe ai i shëroi duke vënë duart mbi secilin prej tyre.

41 A nd demons also were coming forth from many, crying out and saying -- `Thou art the Christ, the Son of God;' and rebuking, he did not suffer them to speak, because they knew him to be the Christ.

Prej shumë vetëve dilnin demonë që bërtitnin dhe thoshnin: “Ti je Krishti, Biri i Perëndisë.” Por ai i qortonte dhe nuk i lejonte të flisnin, sepse ata e dinin se ai ishte Krishti.

42 A nd day having come, having gone forth, he went on to a desert place, and the multitudes were seeking him, and they came unto him, and were staying him -- not to go on from them,

Kur zbardhi drita ai doli dhe shkoi në një vend të pabanuar. Por turmat e kërkonin dhe e arritën; dhe e mbanin që të mos largohej prej tyre.

43 a nd he said unto them -- `Also to the other cities it behoveth me to proclaim good news of the reign of God, because for this I have been sent;'

Por ai u tha atyre: “Më duhet ta shpall lajmin e mirë të mbretërisë së Perëndisë edhe në qytete të tjera, sepse për këtë jam dërguar.”

44 a nd he was preaching in the synagogues of Galilee.

Dhe ai predikonte nëpër sinagoga të Galilesë.
