1 A nd David hath passed on a little from the top, and lo, Ziba, servant of Mephibosheth -- to meet him, and a couple of asses saddled, and upon them two hundred loaves, and a hundred bunches of raisins, and a hundred summer-fruit, and a bottle of wine.

ثُمَّ اجتازَ داوُدُ دَرْباً مُخْتَصَرةً فَوْقَ قِمَّةِ جَبَلِ الزّيتونِ. وهُناك التَقَى بِهِ صِيبا خادِمُ مَفِيبُوشَثَ. كانَ لصِيبا حِمارانِ مُسَرَّجانِ يَحْملانِ مِئَتَي رغيفٍ مِنَ الخُبْزِ، وَمِئَةَ عُنْقُودٍ منَ العِنَبِ، وَمِئَةُ حبَّةٍ مِنْ فاكِهَة الصَّيفِ، وَوِعاءٌ مليءٌ بالنَّبيذِ.

2 A nd the king saith unto Ziba, `What -- these to thee?' and Ziba saith, `The asses for the household of the king to ride on, and the bread and the summer-fruit for the young men to eat, and the wine for the wearied to drink in the wilderness.'

فقالَ المَلِكُ داوُدُ لصِيبا: «لِمَ هَذِهِ الأشياءُ؟» أجابَ صيبا: «الحِمارانِ مُلْكٌ لعائِلَةِ الملِكِ للرُّكوبِ. أمّا الخُبْزُ وفاكِهةُ الصَّيفِ فَلِلفِتيانِ يَأكُلُونَها. وعِنْدَما يَشْعُرُ أيُّ شخْصٍ بِالتَّعَبِ في الصَّحْراءِ، يُمْكِنُهُ أنْ يشرَبَ مِنَ النَّبيذِ.»

3 A nd the king saith, `And where the son of thy lord?' and Ziba saith unto the king, `Lo, he is abiding in Jerusalem, for he said, To-day do the house of Israel give back to me the kingdom of my father.'

فسألَ المَلِكُ: «أينَ مَفِيبُوشَثُ سَيِّدُكَ؟» فَأجابَ صِيبا: «مَفِيبُوشَثُ باقٍ في مَدينَةِ القُدْسِ. فَهوَ يظنُّ أنَّ بَنِي إسْرائِيلَ سيُعِيدونَ إلَيهِ مَملَكَةَ جَدِّهِ.»

4 A nd the king saith to Ziba, `Lo, thine all that Mephibosheth hath;' and Ziba saith, `I have bowed myself -- I find grace in thine eyes, my lord, O king.'

فقالَ المَلِكُ لِصِيبا: «بِسَبَبِ ذَلِكَ، أُعطيكَ الآنَ كُلَّ ما كانَ يملُكَهُ مَفِيبُوشَثُ.» فَقالَ صِيبا: «أنْحَنِي أمامَكَ آمِلاً أنْ أكُونَ دائِماً قادِراً عَلَى إرضائِكَ.» شَمْعَى يَلْعَنُ داوُد

5 A nd king David hath come in unto Bahurim, and lo, thence a man is coming out, of the family of the house of Saul, and his name Shimei, son of Gera, he cometh out, coming out and reviling;

وَجاءَ داوُدُ إلَى بَحُورِيمَ فخَرَجَ مِنْها رَجُلٌ مِنْ عائِلَةِ شاوُلَ يُدْعَى شَمْعَى بْنُ جِيرا. خَرَجَ يَقولُ السَّيِّئاتِ عن داوُدَ وَيَشْتُمُهُ، وَما انْفَكَّ يُكرِّرُ قولَها ويُكَرِّرُ.

6 a nd he stoneth David with stones, and all the servants of king David, and all the people, and all the mighty men on his right and on his left.

وَراحَ شَمْعَى يَرْمِي الحِجارَةَ عَلَى داوُدَ وَضُبّاطِهِ. لَكِنَّ النّاسَ وَالْجُنودَ كانُوا حَولَ داوُدَ.

7 A nd thus said Shimei in his reviling, `Go out, go out, O man of blood, and man of worthlessness!

وَشَتَمَ شَمْعَى داوُدَ، وَقالَ: «اخْرُجْ، اخْرُجْ أنْتَ أيُّها المُجْرِمُ الشِّرِّيرُ.

8 J ehovah hath turned back on thee all the blood of the house of Saul, in whose stead thou hast reigned, and Jehovah doth give the kingdom in to the hand of Absalom thy son; and lo, thou in thine evil, for a man of blood thou.'

سَيُعاقِبْكَ اللهُ. لأنَّكَ قَتَلْتَ أفْرادَاً مِنْ عائِلَةِ شاوُلَ. سَرَقْتَ مَكانَةَ شاوُلَ كَمَلِكٍ، لَكِنَّ الأمورَ السَّيِّئَةَ نَفْسَها تَحْصُلُ لَكَ الآنَ. لَقَدْ أعْطَى اللهُ المَملَكَةَ لابْنِكَ أبْشالُومَ. لأنَّكَ مُجْرِمٌ.»

9 A nd Abishai son of Zeruiah saith unto the king, `Why doth this dead dog revile my lord the king? let me pass over, I pray thee, and I turn aside his head.'

فَقالَ أبيشاي بْنُ صُرُوِيَّةَ للمَلِكِ: «لِمَ يُسْمَحُ لِهذا الكَلْبِ المَيِّتِ بِشَتْمِ مَولايَ المَلِكِ؟ دَعْني أهْجُمْ عَلَيهِ فَأقطَعَ رأسَهُ.»

10 A nd the king saith, `What -- to me and to you, O sons of Zeruiah? for -- let him revile; even because Jehovah hath said to him, Revile David; and who saith, Wherefore hast Thou done so?'

لَكِنَّ الملِكَ أجابَ: «ماذا يُمْكِنُني أنْ أفْعَلَ يا أبناءَ صُرُوِيَّةَ؟ ألَيَسَ يَشْتِمُني لأنَّ اللهَ قالَ لَهُ ‹اشْتِمْ داوُدَ!› فَمَنْ يَسْألُهُ لِماذا؟»

11 A nd David saith unto Abishai, and unto all his servants, `Lo, my son who came out of my bowels is seeking my life, and also surely now the Benjamite; leave him alone, and let him revile, for Jehovah hath said to him;

كَذَلِكَ قالَ داوُدُ لأبِيشايَ وَخُدّامِهِ جَمِيعاً: «انْظُرُوا، ابني أنا يُحاوِلُ أنْ يَقْتُلَني، فَكَمْ بِالحَرِيِّ هذا الرَّجُلُ الذي مِنْ قَبِيلَةِ بَنْيامِيْنَ؟ فَاللهُ هُوَ مَنْ طَلَبَ مِنْهُ أنْ يَفْعَلَ هذا.

12 i t may be Jehovah doth look on mine affliction, and Jehovah hath turned back to me good for his reviling this day.'

فَإذْ يرى اللهُ الذلَّ الذي حّلَّ بي، لَعَلَّهُ يُعَوِّضُنِي بِشَيءٍ حَسَنٍ مُقابِلَ ما تَعَرَّضْتُ إلَيهِ مِنَ الشَّتائِمِ اليَومَ.»

13 A nd David goeth with his men in the way, and Shimei is going at the side of the hill over-against him, going on, and he revileth, and stoneth with stones over-against him, and hath dusted with dust.

وَهَكَذا مَضَى داوُدُ وَرِجالُهَ في طريقِهِم. أمّا شَمْعَى فَكانَ يمْشِي إلَى الجِهَةِ الأُخْرَى مِنَ الطَّريقِ عِنْدَ جانِبِ التَّلَّةِ، وَهُوَ يَشَتِمُ داوُدَ في طريقِهِ، وَيَرَمْيَ الحِجارَةَ وَالتُّرابَ عَلَيهِ.

14 A nd the king cometh in, and all the people who with him, wearied, and they are refreshed there.

وَأتَى المَلِكُ داوُدُ وَشَعبُهُ كُلُّهُ إلَى نَهْرِ الأُرْدُن وَكانُوا مُتْعَبينَ جداً، فارْتاحُوا هُناكَ.

15 A nd Absalom and all the people, the men of Israel, have come in to Jerusalem, and Ahithophel with him,

ثُمَّ جاءَ أبشالومُ وَأخِيتُوفَلُ وَجَمِيعُ بَنِي إسْرائِيلَ إلَى مَدينَةِ القُدْسِ.

16 a nd it cometh to pass, when Hushai the Archite, David's friend, hath come unto Absalom, that Hushai saith unto Absalom, `Let the king live! let the king live!'

فَجاءَ حُوشايُ الأركِيُّ صَديقُ داوُدَ إلَى أبشالومَ وَقالَ لَهُ: «عاشَ المَلِكُ! عاشَ المَلِكُ!»

17 A nd Absalom saith unto Hushai, `This thy kindness with thy friend! why hast thou not gone with thy friend?'

وَأجابَ أبْشالُومُ: «لِمَ لَسْتَ وفِيّاً لِصَديقِكَ داوُدَ؟ لِمَ لَمْ تُغادِرْ القُدْسَ مَعَهُ؟»

18 A nd Hushai saith unto Absalom, `Nay, for he whom Jehovah hath chosen, and this people, even all the men of Israel, his I am, and with him I abide;

فقالَ حُوشايُ: «أنا مع الشَّخْصِ الّذي يختارُهُ اللهُ. وهؤلاءِ النّاسُ وبَنُو إسْرائِيلَ اخْتاروكَ أنْتَ، لِذا سَأبقى مَعَكَ.

19 a nd secondly, for whom do I labour? is it not before his son? as I served before thy father so am I before thee.'

في الماضي، خَدَمْتُ وَالِدَكَ، وعليَّ الآنَ أنْ أخْدِمَ ابنَ داوُدَ، وسَأخْدِمُك.» أبْشالُومُ يَسْاَلُ أخِيتُوفَلَ النُّصْح

20 A nd Absalom saith unto Ahithophel, `Give for you counsel what we do.'

وقالَ أبشالومُ لأخِيتُوفَلَ: «انصحنا بما عَلَينا أنْ نَفْعَله.»

21 A nd Ahithophel saith unto Absalom, `Go in unto the concubines of thy father, whom he left to keep the house, and all Israel hath heard that thou hast been abhorred by thy father, and the hands of all who with thee have been strong.'

فقالَ أخِيتُوفَلُ لأبشالوم: «لَقَدْ تَرَكَ وَالِدُكَ هُنا بَعَضَ زَوجاتِهِ لِلاعْتِناءِ بِالمَنْزِلِ، فاذْهَبْ وَعاشِرْهُنَّ. وَهَكَذا يَسْمَعُ بَنُو إسْرائِيلَ كُلُّهُمْ وَيَعلَمُونَ أنَّكَ أهَنْتَ أباكَ، وَيَتَشَجْعُ كُلُّ الشَّعبِ الَّذي مَعَكَ، فَيَمْنَحُكَ دَعماً أكْبَرَ.»

22 A nd they spread out for Absalom the tent on the roof, and Absalom goeth in unto the concubines of his father before the eyes of all Israel.

ثُمَّ نَصَبُوا لأبشالوم خيّمَةً فَوْقَ سَطْحِ المَنْزِلِ. فَعاشَرَ زَوْجاتِ وَالِدِهِ. ورأى بَنُو إسْرائِيلَ ذَلِكَ.

23 A nd the counsel of Ahithophel which he counselled in those days as one inquireth at the word of God; so all the counsel of Ahithophel both to David and to Absalom.

وَفِي تِلْكَ الأيّامِ، كانَتْ نصيحةُ أخِيتُوفَلَ مُهَّمةً جداً لِكُلٍّ مِنْ داوُدَ وَأبشالومَ. كانَتْ مُهِمَّةً كَأهَميَّةِ كَلمِةِ اللهِ لإنسانٍ!
