1 L o, My servant, I take hold on him, My chosen one -- My soul hath accepted, I have put My Spirit upon him, Judgment to nations he bringeth forth.

«ها هُوَ عَبدِي الَّذِي أرفَعُهُ، مُختارِي الَّذِي فَرِحَتْ بِهِ نَفسِي. وَضَعتُ رُوحِي عَلَيهِ، وَهُوَ سَيَأتِي بِالعَدلِ لِلأُمَمِ.

2 H e doth not cry, nor lift up, Nor cause his voice to be heard, in the street.

لَنْ يَصرُخَ وَلَنْ يَرفَعَ صَوتَهُ، وَلَنْ يُسمَعَ صَوتُهُ فِي الشَّوارِعِ.

3 A bruised reed he breaketh not, And dim flax he quencheth not, To truth he bringeth forth judgment.

لَنْ يَكسِرَ قَصَبَةً مَرضُوضَةً، وَلَنْ يُطفِئَ لَهَباً ضَعِيفاً. وَسَيَأتِي بِالعَدلِ فِعلاً.

4 H e doth not become weak nor bruised, Till he setteth judgment in the earth, And for his law isles wait with hope.

لَنْ يَضعُفَ أوْ يَنكَسِرَ حَتَّى يَأتِيَ بِالعَدلِ إلَى الأرْضِ. وَسَتَنتَظِرُ الجُزُرُ وَالشَّواطِئُ تَعلِيمَهُ.» مَجدُ الله

5 T hus said God, Jehovah, preparing The heavens, and stretching them out, Spreading out the earth and its productions, Giving breath to the people on it, And spirit to those walking in it.

هَذا هُوَ كَلامُ اللهِ الَّذِي خَلَقَ السَّماواتِ وَنَشَرَها، وَالَّذِي بَسَطَ الأرْضَ وَما يَخرُجُ مِنها، الَّذِي يُعطِي نَسَمَةَ حَياةٍ لِلنّاسِ عَلَيها، وَرُوحاً لِلَّذِينَ يَسِيرُونَ فِيها:

6 I , Jehovah, did call thee in righteousness, And I lay hold on thy hand, and keep thee, And I give thee for a covenant of a people, And a light of nations.

«أنا اللهَ دَعَوتُكَ لِلبِرِّ. أمسَكتُ بِيَدِكَ، وَحَفِظتُكَ، وَجَعَلْتُكَ وَسِيطَ عَهدٍ مَعَ النّاسِ وَنُوراً لِلأُمَمِ،

7 T o open the eyes of the blind, To bring forth from prison the bound one, From the house of restraint those sitting in darkness.

لِتَفتَحَ عُيُونَ العُمِي، وَتُخرِجَ الأسرَى مِنَ الحَبسِ. لِتُخرِجَ الجالِسِينَ فِي الظُّلمَةِ مِنَ السِّجنِ.

8 I Jehovah, this My name, And Mine honour to another I give not, Nor My praise to graven images.

«أنا يهوه وَهَذا هُوَ اسْمِي. لَنْ أُعطِيَ مَجدِيَ لآخَرَ، وَلا كَرامَتِي لِلأوثانِ.

9 T he former things, lo, have come, And new things I am declaring, Before they spring up I cause you to hear.

الأُمُورُ الأُولَى الَّتِي أخبَرتُ بِها قَدْ حَدَثَتْ، وَها أنا الآنَ أُخبِرُ بِأُمُورٍ جَدِيدَةٍ. فَقَبلَ حُدُوثِها أُخبِرُكُمْ بِها.» تَرنِيمَةُ تَسبِيحٍ لله

10 S ing to Jehovah a new song, His praise from the end of the earth, Ye who are going down to the sea, and its fulness, Isles, and their inhabitants.

رَنِّمُوا للهِ تَرنِيمَةً جَدِيدَةً، غَنُّوا بِتَسبِيحِهِ مِنْ أقاصِي الأرْضِ. سَبِّحُوهُ يا مَلّاحِي البَحرِ، وَيا كُلَّ حَيواناتِ البَحرِ. سَبِّحِيهِ أيَّتُها الجُزُرُ وَالشَّواطِئُ، وَيا كُلَّ السّاكِنِينَ فِيها.

11 T he wilderness and its cities do lift up, The villages Kedar doth inhabit, Sing do the inhabitants of Sela, From the top of mountains they cry.

لِتَرفَعِ الصَّحراءُ وَمُدُنُها أصواتَ تَسبِيحِهِ، وَالسّاحاتُ الَّتِي تَسكُنُها عَشِيرَةُ قِيدارَ. لِيَهتِفْ سُكّانُ مَدِينَةِ سالِعَ بِفَرَحٍ. لِيَهتِفُوا مِنْ قِمَمِ الجِبالِ.

12 T hey ascribe to Jehovah honour, And His praise in the isles they declare.

لِيُعطُوا اللهَ مَجداً. وَلِتُسَبِّحهُ الجُزُرُ وَالشَّواطِئُ.

13 J ehovah as a mighty one goeth forth. As a man of war He stirreth up zeal, He crieth, yea, He shrieketh, Against His enemies He showeth Himself mighty.

سَيَخرُجُ اللهُ كَرَجُلٍ قَوِيٍّ لِلحَربِ، وَكَمُحارِبٍ استَيقَظَ غَضَبُهُ. يَهتِفُ وَيَصرُخُ، وَيُظهِرُ قُوَّتَهُ عَلَى أعدائِهِ. صَبرُ الله

14 I have kept silent from of old, I keep silent, I refrain myself, As a travailing woman I cry out, I desolate and swallow up together.

صَمَتُّ لِزَمَنٍ طَوِيلٍ، سَكَتُّ وَضَبَطتُ نَفسِي. أمّا الآنَ فَسَأصِيحُ كامرَأةٍ تَلِدُ، سَألهَثُ وَأنفُخُ.

15 I make waste mountains and hills, And all their herbs I dry up, And I have made rivers become isles, And ponds I dry up.

سَأُحَطِّمُ الجِبالَ وَالتِّلالَ، وَسَأُجَفِّفُ كُلَّ نَباتاتِها. سَأُحَوِّلُ الأنهارَ إلَى أرْضٍ جافَّةٍ، وَسَأُجَفِّفُ البِرَكَ.

16 A nd I have caused the blind to go, In a way they have not known, In paths they have not known I cause them to tread, I make a dark place before them become light, And unlevelled places become a plain, These the things I have done to them, And I have not forsaken them.

سَأقُودُ العُميانَ فِي طَرِيقٍ لَمْ يَعرِفُوهُ مِنْ قَبلُ، وَفِي مَسالِكَ لَمْ يَعرِفُوها. سَأُحَوِّلُ الظُّلمَةَ أمامَهُمْ إلَى نُورٍ، وَالأماكِنَ الوَعِرَةَ إلَى أرْضٍ سَهلَةٍ. سَأعمَلُ هَذِا وَلَنْ أترُكَهُمْ.

17 R emoved backward -- utterly ashamed, Are those trusting in a graven image, Those saying to a molten image, `Ye our gods.'

أمّا المُتَّكِلُونَ عَلَى التَّماثِيلِ الَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ لِلأوثانِ: «أنتِ آلِهَتُنا،» فَسَيُخذَلُونَ وَسَيَخجَلُونَ. عَبدُ يهوه

18 Y e deaf, hear; and ye blind, look to see.

«اسْتَمِعُوا يا أيُّها الصُّمُّ، وَيا أيُّها العُمِي انظُرُوا وَأبصِرُوا.

19 W ho blind but My servant? And deaf as My messenger I send? Who blind as he who is at peace, Yea, blind, as the servant of Jehovah?

هَلْ مِنْ أعمَى مِثلَ عَبدِي؟ هَلْ مِنْ أصَمَّ مِثلَ رَسُولِي الَّذِي أُرسَلتُهُ؟ هَلْ مِنْ أعمَى كَحَلِيفي! هَلْ مِنْ أعمَى كَعَبدِ يَهوه؟

20 S eeing many things, and thou observest not, Opening ears, and he heareth not.

رَأيتَ أُمُوراً كَثِيرَةً، وَلَكِنَّكَ لَمْ تَحفَظها. أُذُنُهُ مَفتُوحَةٌ، وَلَكِنَّهُ لا يَسمَعُ.»

21 J ehovah hath delight for the sake of His righteousness, He magnifieth law, and maketh honourable.

يُسَرَّ اللهُ بِصَلاحِ شَعبِهِ، إذْ يُعَظِّمُ الشَّرِيعَةَ وَيُكْرِمُها.

22 A nd this a people seized and spoiled, Snared in holes -- all of them, And in houses of restraint they were hidden, They have been for a prey, And there is no deliverer, A spoil, and none is saying, `Restore.'

لَكِنَّ هَذا الشَّعبَ سُرِقَ وَنُهِبَ. كُلُّهُمُ اصطِيدُوا فِي الحُفَرِ، وَوِضِعُوا فِي السُّجُونِ. حُمِلُوا كَغَنائِمِ الحَرْبِ، وَلَيسَ مَنْ يُنقِذُهُمْ. سُلِبَتْ أمْوالُهُمْ، وَلَيسَ مَنْ يَقُولُ: «أرْجِعْها.»

23 W ho among you giveth ear this? Attendeth, and heareth afterwards.

مَنْ مِنكُمْ سَيَستَمِعُ إلَى هَذا؟ وَمَنْ سَيُصغِي وَيَستَمِعُ فِي المُستَقبَلِ؟

24 W ho hath given Jacob for a spoil, And Israel to the spoilers? Is it not Jehovah -- He against whom we sinned? Yea, they have not been willing in His ways to walk, Nor have they hearkened to His law.

مَنِ الَّذِي سَلَّمَ يَعقُوبَ لِلنّاهِبِينَ، وَإسْرائِيلَ لِلُّصُوصِ؟ ألَيسَ اللهُ مَنْ عَمِلَ هَذا، إذْ أخطأوا إلَيهِ، وَرَفَضُوا السَّيرِ فِي طُرُقِهِ، وَلَمْ يُطِيعُوا شَرِيعَتَهُ؟

25 A nd He poureth on him fury, His anger, and the strength of battle, And it setteth him on fire round about, And he hath not known, And it burneth against him, and he layeth it not to heart!

لِذَلِكَ سَكَبَ عَلَيهِمْ غَضَبَهُ وَحَرباً شَدِيدَةً. وَاشتَعَلَتْ نارٌ مِنْ حَولِهِمْ. لَكِنَّهُمْ لَمْ يُدْرِكُوا. أحرَقَتْهُمُ النّارُ، لَكِنَّهُمْ لَمْ يَتَعَلَّمُوا شَيئاً.
