1 A nd the apostles and the brethren who are in Judea heard that also the nations did receive the word of God,

وَسَمِعَ الرُّسُلُ وَالإخوَةُ فِي جَمِيعِ أنحاءِ إقليمِ اليَهُودِيَّةِ أنَّ غَيرَ اليَهُودِ قَدْ تَلَقُّوا أيضاً كَلِمَةَ الرَّبِّ.

2 a nd when Peter came up to Jerusalem, those of the circumcision were contending with him,

فَلَمّا صَعِدَ بُطرُسُ إلَى القُدسِ، انتَقَدَهُ أولَئِكَ الَّذِينَ يَدعُونَ إلَى الخِتانِ.

3 s aying -- `Unto men uncircumcised thou didst go in, and didst eat with them!'

وَقالُوا لَهُ: «لَقَدْ دَخَلتَ بُيُوتَ أشخاصٍ غَيرِ مَختُونِينَ وَأكَلتَ مَعَهُمْ!»

4 A nd Peter having begun, did expound to them in order saying,

فَبَدَأ بُطرُسُ يَشرَحُ لَهُمْ ما حَدَثَ تَماماً.

5 ` I was in the city of Joppa praying, and I saw in a trance a vision, a certain vessel coming down, as a great sheet by four corners being let down out of the heaven, and it came unto me;

قالَ: «كُنتُ فِي بَلْدَةِ يافا أُصَلِّي، فَوَقَعَ عَلَيَّ سُباتٌ وَرَأيتُ رُؤيا. رَأيتُ شَيئاً يَشبِهُ قِطعَةَ قُماشٍ كَبِيرَةً مُعَلَّقَةً مِنْ أطرافِها الأربَعَةِ وَمُدَلّاةً مِنَ السَّماءِ، وَنَزَلَتْ عَلَيَّ.

6 a t which having looked stedfastly, I was considering, and I saw the four-footed beasts of the earth, and the wild beasts, and the creeping things, and the fowls of heaven;

فَدَقَّقْتُ النَّظَرَ فِيها، فَرَأيتُ بَهائمَ وَحَيواناتٍ مُتَوَحِّشَةً وَزَواحِفَ وَطُيُوراً.

7 a nd I heard a voice saying to me, Having risen, Peter, slay and eat;

ثُمَّ سَمِعْتُ صَوتاً يَقُولُ لِي: ‹انهَضْ يا بُطرُسُ. اذبَحْ وَكُلْ.›

8 a nd I said, Not so, Lord; because anything common or unclean hath at no time entered into my mouth;

«لَكِنِّي قُلْتُ: ‹لَنْ أفعَلَ هَذا يا رَبُّ! لَمْ يَدخُلْ فَمِي طَعامٌ مُحَرَّمٌ أوْ نَجِسٌ مِنْ قَبلُ!›

9 a nd a voice did answer me a second time out of the heaven, What God did cleanse, thou -- declare not thou common.

«فَأجابَني الصَّوتُ ثانِيَةً مِنَ السَّماءِ: ‹ما طّهَّرَهُ اللهُ، لا تُحَرِّمُهُ أنتَ!›

10 ` And this happened thrice, and again was all drawn up to the heaven,

«وَقَدْ حَدَثَ ذَلِكَ ثَلاثَ مَرّاتٍ. ثُمَّ ارتَفَعَ كُلُّ شَيءٍ إلَى السَّماءِ.

11 a nd, lo, immediately, three men stood at the house in which I was, having been sent from Cesarea unto me,

وَفِي تِلكَ اللَّحظَةِ، وَصَلَ ثَلاثَةُ رِجالٍ إلَى البَيتِ الَّذِي كُنّا نَنزِلُ فِيهِ. وَكانُوا قَدْ أُرسَلُوا إلَيَّ مِنْ مَدِينَةِ قَيصَرِيَّةَ.

12 a nd the Spirit said to me to go with them, nothing doubting, and these six brethren also went with me, and we did enter into the house of the man,

فَأمَرَنِي الرُّوحُ بِأنْ أذهَبَ مَعَهُمْ دُونَ تَرَدُّدٍ. كَما ذَهَبَ مَعِي هَؤُلاءِ الإخوَةُ السِّتَّةُ، وَدَخَلنا بَيتَ الرَّجُلِ.

13 h e declared also to us how he saw the messenger in his house standing, and saying to him, Send men to Joppa, and call for Simon, who is surnamed Peter,

فَأخبَرَنا كَيفَ أنَّهُ رَأى مَلاكاً واقِفاً فِي بَيتِهِ يَقُولُ لَهُ: ‹أرسِلْ رِجالاً إلَى بَلدَةِ يافا وَاَسْتَدْعِ سِمعانَ الَّذِي يُدعَى بُطرُسَ.

14 w ho shall speak sayings by which thou shalt be saved, thou and all thy house.

وَهُوَ سَيُخبِرُكَ كَلاماً بِهِ يَكُونُ خَلاصُكَ وَخَلاصُ كُلِّ عائِلَتِكَ.›

15 ` And in my beginning to speak, the Holy Spirit did fall upon them, even as also upon us in the beginning,

«فَلَمّا بَدَأْتُ أتَكَلَّمُ، حَلَّ الرُّوحُ القُدُسُ عَلَيهِمْ، تَماماً كَما حَلَّ عَلَينا نَحنُ فِي البِدايَةِ.

16 a nd I remembered the saying of the Lord, how he said, John indeed did baptize with water, and ye shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit;

ثُمَّ تَذَكَّرتُ ما سَبَقَ أنْ قالَهُ الرَّبُّ: ‹كانَ يُوحَنّا يُعَمِّدُ فِي الماءِ، أمّا أنتُمْ فَسَتُعَمِّدُونَ فِي الرُّوحِ القُدُسِ.›

17 i f then the equal gift God did give to them as also to us, having believed upon the Lord Jesus Christ, I -- how was I able to withstand God?'

فَإنْ كانَ اللهُ قَدْ أعطاهُمُ العَطِيَّةَ نَفسَها الَّتِي أعطاها لَنا عِندَما آمَنّا بِالرَّبِّ يَسُوعَ المَسِيحِ، فَمَنْ أنا لِأُقاوِمَ اللهَ؟»

18 A nd they, having heard these things, were silent, and were glorifying God, saying, `Then, indeed, also to the nations did God give the reformation to life.'

فَلَمّا سَمِعَ المُؤمِنُونَ هَذا، تَوَقَّفُوا عَنِ الجَدَلِ، وَمَجَّدُوا اللهَ وَقالوا: «إذاً، فَقَدْ أعطَى اللهُ حَتَّى غَيرَ اليَهُودِ فُرصَةَ التَّوبَةِ الَّتِي تَقُودُ إلَى الحَياةِ!» البِشارَةُ فِي أنطاكِيَّة

19 T hose, indeed, therefore, having been scattered abroad, from the tribulation that came after Stephen, went through unto Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, speaking the word to none except to Jews only;

أمّا الَّذِينَ شَتَّتَهُمُ الاضْطِهادُ الَّذِي حَدَثَ فِي زَمَنِ إستِفانُوسَ، فَوَصَلُوا إلَى فِينِيقِيَّةَ وَقُبرُصَ وَأنطاكِيَّةَ. وَكانُوا لا يُبَشِّرُونَ أحَداً غَيرَ اليَهُودِ.

20 a nd there were certain of them men of Cyprus and Cyrene, who having entered into Antioch, were speaking unto the Hellenists, proclaiming good news -- the Lord Jesus,

وَكانَ بَينَهُمْ بَعضُ الرِّجالِ مِنْ قُبرُصَ وَقِيرِينَ. فَلَمّا جاءُوا إلَى أنطاكِيَّةَ، بَدَأُوا يَتَحَدَّثُونَ أيضاً مَعَ اليُونانِيِّيْنَ، ؤَيُبَشِّرونَهُمْ بِالرَّبِّ يَسُوعَ.

21 a nd the hand of the Lord was with them, a great number also, having believed, did turn unto the Lord.

وَكانَتْ يَدُ الرَّبِّ مَعَهُمْ. فَآمَنَ عَدَدٌ كَبِيرٌ مِنَ النّاسِ وآمَنُوا بِالرَّبِّ.

22 A nd the account was heard in the ears of the assembly that in Jerusalem concerning them, and they sent forth Barnabas to go through unto Antioch,

وَوَصَلَتْ هَذِهِ الأخبارُ إلَى الكَنِيسَةِ فِي القُدسِ، فَأرسَلُوا بَرنابا إلَى أنطاكِيَّةَ.

23 w ho, having come, and having seen the grace of God, was glad, and was exhorting all with purpose of heart to cleave to the Lord,

فَلَمّا وَصَلَ وَرَأى نِعمَةَ اللهِ تَعمَلُ هُناكَ، فَرِحَ كَثِيراً، وَشَجَّعَهُمْ جَمِيعاً عَلَى أنْ يَظَلُّوا مُخلِصِينَ لِلرَّبِّ مِنْ كُلِّ قُلُوبِهِمْ.

24 b ecause he was a good man, and full of the Holy Spirit, and of faith, and a great multitude was added to the Lord.

فَقَدْ كانَ بَرنابا رَجُلاً صالِحاً، مَملُوءاً مِنَ الرُّوحِ القُدُسِ وَالإيمانِ. فَجاءَ عَدَدٌ كَبِيرٌ مِنَ النّاسِ إلَى الرَّبِّ.

25 A nd Barnabas went forth to Tarsus, to seek for Saul,

ثُمَّ تَوَجَّهَ بَرنابا إلَى طَرسُوسَ بَحثاً عَنْ شاوُلَ.

26 a nd having found him, he brought him to Antioch, and it came to pass that they a whole year did assemble together in the assembly, and taught a great multitude, the disciples also were divinely called first in Antioch Christians.

فَلَمّا وَجَدَهُ، أحضَرَهُ إلَى أنطاكِيَّةَ. وَاجتَمَعا مَعَ الكَنِيسَةِ سَنَةً كامِلَةً، وَعَلَّما عَدَداً كَبِيراً مِنَ النّاسِ. وَدُعِيَ التَّلامِيذُ مَسِيحِيِّينَ لِأوَّلِ مَرَّةٍ فِي أنطاكِيَّةَ.

27 A nd in those days there came from Jerusalem prophets to Antioch,

وَفِي ذَلِكَ الوَقتِ، جاءَ بَعضُ الأنبِياءِ مِنَ مَدينَةِ القُدسِ إلَى أنطاكِيَّةَ.

28 a nd one of them, by name Agabus, having stood up, did signify through the Spirit a great dearth is about to be throughout all the world -- which also came to pass in the time of Claudius Caesar --

وَوَقَفَ واحِدٌ مِنهُمْ، اسْمُهُ أغابُوسُ، وَتَنَبَّأ بِالرُّوحِ بِأنَّ مَجاعَةً شَدِيدَةً سَتَعُمُّ العالَمَ كُلَّهُ. حَدَثَ هَذا أثناءَ حُكمِ كلُوديُوسَ.

29 a nd the disciples, according as any one was prospering, determined each of them to send for ministration to the brethren dwelling in Judea,

فَقَرَّرَ التَّلامِيذُ أنْ يُرسِلَ كُلُّ واحِدٍ قَدرَ ما يَستَطِيعُ، لِمُساعَدَةِ الإخوَةِ السّاكِنِينَ فِي اليَهُودِيَّةِ.

30 w hich also they did, having sent unto the elders by the hand of Barnabas and Saul.

وَهَذا ما فَعَلُوهُ، حَيثُ أرسَلُوا تَبَرُّعاتِهِمْ لِلشُّيُوخِ عَنْ طَرِيقِ بَرنابا وَشاوُلَ.
