1 ` And we turn, and go up the way to Bashan, and Og king of Bashan cometh out to meet us, he and all his people, to battle, Edrei.

«ثُمَّ دُرْنا وَصَعِدْنا فِي الطَّرِيقِ إلَى باشانَ، وَخَرَجَ عُوجُ مَلِكُ باشانَ مَعَ كُلِّ جَيشِهِ لِمُحارَبَتِنا فِي إذْرَعِيَ.

2 ` And Jehovah saith unto me, Fear him not, for into thy hand I have given him, and all his people, and his land, and thou hast done to him as thou hast done to Sihon king of the Amorite who is dwelling in Heshbon.

«فَقالَ اللهُ لِي: ‹لا تَخَفْ مِنهُ لِأنِّي سَأُسَلِّمُهُ هُوَ وَكُلَّ شَعبِهِ وَأرْضِهِ لَكَ، وَسَتَعمَلُ بِهِ ما عَمِلتَهُ بِسِيحُونَ مَلِكِ الأمُورِيِّينَ الَّذِي كانَ يَحكُمُ حَشْبُونَ.›

3 ` And Jehovah our God giveth into our hands also Og king of Bashan, and all his people, and we smite him till there hath not been left to him a remnant;

«فَأخضَعَ إلَهُنا عُوجَ مَلِكَ باشانَ وَكُلَّ شَعبِهِ لَنا، فَهَزَمْناهُمْ حَتَّى لَمْ يَبقَ مِنهُمْ ناجُونَ.

4 a nd we capture all his cities at that time, there hath not been a city which we have not taken from them, sixty cities, all the region of Argob, the kingdom of Og in Bashan.

وَاستَولَينا عَلَى مُدُنِهِ فِي ذَلِكَ اليَومِ، وَلَمْ تَكُنْ هُناكَ مَدِينَةٌ لَمْ نَأخُذْها مِنهُمْ. فَقَدْ أخَذْنا سِتِّينَ مَدِينَةً فِي كُلِّ مِنْطَقَةِ أرْجُوبَ، وَمَملَكَةِ عُوجَ فِي باشانَ.

5 A ll these cities fenced with high walls, two-leaved doors and bar, apart from cities of villages very many;

وَكانَتْ تِلكَ المُدُنُ مُحَصَّنَةً، ذاتَ أسْوارٍ عالِيَةٍ وَبَوّاباتٍ مَتِينَةٍ وَأقْفالٍ مِنْ حَدِيدٍ. كَما أخَذنا بَلداتٍ كَثِيرَةٍ بِلا أسوارٍ.

6 a nd we devote them, as we have done to Sihon king of Heshbon, devoting every city, men, the women, and the infants;

وَأهلَكناهُمْ تَماماً، كَما أهلَكْنا سِيحُونَ مَلِكَ حَشبَونَ. وَقَضَينا عَلَى الرِّجالِ وَالنِّساءِ وَالأطفالِ فِي كُلِّ المُدُنِ.

7 a nd all the cattle, and the spoil of the cities, we have spoiled for ourselves.

وَأمّا جَميعُ الحَيواناتِ وَغَنائِمِ المَدَنِ فَقَدْ سَلَبْناها لَنا.

8 ` And we take, at that time, the land out of the hand of the two kings of the Amorite, which is beyond the Jordan, from the brook Arnon unto mount Hermon;

«وَهَكَذا أخَذْنا الأرْضَ مِنْ يَدِ مَلِكَيِّ الأمُورِيِّينَ اللَّذَينِ كانا فِي الجِهَةِ الشَّرقِيَّةِ لِنَهرِ الأُردُنِّ. وَهِيَ الأرْضُ المُمتَدَّةُ مِنْ وادِي أرنُونَ إلَى جَبَلِ حَرْمُونَ.

9 ( Sidonians call Hermon, Sirion; and the Amorites call it Senir,)

وَيَدعُو الصَّيدُونِيُّونَ جَبَلَ حَرْمُونَ ‹سِرْيُونَ.› أمّا الأمُورِيُّونَ فَيَدْعُونَهُ ‹سَنِيرَ.›

10 a ll the cities of the plain, and all Gilead, and all Bashan, unto Salchah and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan,

«وَهَكَذا أخَذْنا مُدُنَ السُّهُولِ الشَّمالِيَّةِ وَكُلَّ جِلعادَ وَكُلَّ باشانَ إلَى سَلخَةَ وَإذْرَعِي مَدِينَتَي مَملَكَةِ عُوجَ فِي باشانَ.»

11 f or only Og king of Bashan had been left of the remnant of the Rephaim; lo, his bedstead a bedstead of iron; is it not in Rabbath of the sons of Ammon? nine cubits its length, and four cubits its breadth, by the cubit of a man.

عُوجُ مَلِكَ باشانَ هُوَ الوَحِيدُ الَّذِي بَقِيَ مِنَ الرَّفائِيِّينَ. وَكانَ لَهُ سَرِيرٌ مِنْ حَدِيدٍ طُولُهُ تِسْعُ أذْرُعٍ وَعَرضُهُ أرْبَعُ أذْرُعٍ كَذِراعِ رَجُلٍ. ما يَزالُ مَحفُوظاً فِي رَبَّةَ مَدينَةِ العَمُّونِيِّينَ. تَقسِيمُ أرْضِ شَرقِيِّ الأُردُن

12 ` And this land we have possessed, at that time; from Aroer, which by the brook Arnon, and the half of mount Gilead, and its cities, I have given to the Reubenite, and to the Gadite;

«فَأخَذْنا هَذِهِ الأرْضَ مُلكاً لَنا فِي ذَلِكَ الوَقتِ، وَذَلِكَ بِدْءاً مِنْ عَرُوعِيرَ الواقِعَةِ عِندَ وادِي أرْنُونَ. وَأعطَيتُ نِصْفَ مِنْطَقَةِ جِلعادَ الجَبَلِيَّةِ وَمُدُنِها لَلرَأُوبَيْنِيِّينَ وَالجادِيِّينَ.

13 a nd the rest of Gilead and all Bashan, the kingdom of Og, I have given to the half tribe of Manasseh; all the region of Argob, to all that Bashan, called the land of Rephaim.

وَأعطَيتُ بَقِيَّةَ جِلعادَ وَكُلَّ باشانَ الَّتِي كانَتْ تُشَكِّلُ مَملَكَةَ عُوجٍ لَنَصْفِ قَبِيلَةِ مَنَسَّى.» حَيثُ إنَّ كُلَّ مِنْطَقَةِ أرْجُوبَ، وَالَّتِي هِيَ جُزءٌ مِنْ باشانَ، تُدعَى أرْضَ الرَّفائِيِّينَ.

14 ` Jair son of Manasseh hath taken all the region of Argob, unto the border of Geshuri, and Maachathi, and calleth them by his own name, Bashan-Havoth-Jair, unto this day.

فَأخَذَ يائِيرُ مِنْ قَبِيلَةِ مَنَسَّى كُلَّ مِنْطَقَةِ أرجُوبَ حَتَّى حُدُودِ الجَشُورِيِّينَ وَالمَعْكِيِّينَ. وَأطلَقَ يائِيرُ اسْمَهُ عَلَى ارضِ باشانَ، فَدَعاها مُدُنَ يائِيرَ إلَى اليَومِ.

15 A nd to Machir I have given Gilead.

«كَذَلِكَ أعطَيتُ جِلعادَ لِماكِيرَ.

16 ` And to the Reubenite and to the Gadite I have given from Gilead even unto the brook Arnon, the middle of the valley and the border, even unto Jabbok the brook, the border of the sons of Ammon,

وَكَذَلِكَ أعطَيْتُ الرَأُوبَيْنِيِّينَ وَالجادِيِّينَ الأرْضَ المُمتَدَّةَ مِنْ أرْضِ جِلعادَ شَمالاً إلَى مُنتَصَفِ وادِي أرنُونَ حَيثُ الحُدُودُ الَّتِي تَصِلُ إلَى وادِي يَبُّوقَ، وَهِيَ الحُدُودُ مَعَ العَمُّونِيِّينَ.

17 a nd the plain, and the Jordan, and the border, from Chinnereth even unto the sea of the plain, the salt sea, under the springs of Pisgah, at the -rising.

وَكانَ وادِي الأُردُنِّ وَنَهرُ الأُردُنِّ نَفسُهُ الحَدَّ الغَربِيَّ مِنْ بُحَيرَةِ الجَلِيلِ إلَى بَحْرِ عَرَبَةَ عِنْدَ سَطحِ جَبَلِ الفِسْجَةِ شَرقاً.

18 ` And I command you, at that time, saying, Jehovah your God hath given to you this land to possess it; armed ye pass over before your brethren the sons of Israel, all the sons of might.

«وَأوصَيتُكُمْ فِي ذَلِكَ الوَقتِ، وَقُلْتُ: ‹ إلَهُكُمْ أعطاكُمْ هَذِهِ الأرْضَ مُلْكاً لَكُمْ. وَعَلَى كُلِّ الرِّجالِ الشُّجْعانِ الأشِدّاءِ فِيكُمْ أنْ يَتَسَلَّحُوا وَيَعبُرُوا نَهرَ الأُردُنِّ أمامَ إخْوَتِكُمْ بَنِي إسْرائِيلَ.

19 O nly, your wives, and your infants, and your cattle -- I have known that ye have much cattle -- do dwell in your cities which I have given to you,

وَأمّا زَوجاتُكُمْ وَأطفالُكُمْ وَحَيواناتُكُمْ، وَالَّتِي أعلَمُ أنَّها كَثِيرَةٌ، فَليَمْكُثُوا فِي المُدُنِ الَّتِي أعطَيتُها لَكُمْ،

20 t ill that Jehovah give rest to your brethren like yourselves, and they also have possessed the land which Jehovah your God is giving to them beyond the Jordan, then ye have turned back each to his possession, which I have given to you.

إلَى أنْ يُرِيحَ اللهُ إخْوَتَكُمْ كَما أراحَكُمْ، وَيَمتَلِكُوا الأرْضَ الَّتِي أعطاها إلَهُكُمْ لَهُمْ شَرْقَ نَهرِ الأُردُنِّ. حِينَئِذٍ، يُمكِنُ لِكُلِّ واحِدٍ مِنكُمْ أنْ يَعُودَ إلَى الأرْضِ الَّتِي أعطَيتُها لَهُ.›

21 ` And Jehoshua I have commanded at that time, saying, Thine eyes are seeing all that which Jehovah your God hath done to these two kings -- so doth Jehovah to all the kingdoms whither thou are passing over;

«وَأوصَيتُ يَشُوعَ فِي ذَلِكَ اليَومِ، وَقُلْتُ لَهُ: ‹قَدْ رَأيتَ كُلَّ ما عَمِلَهُ إلَهُكُمْ بِهَذَينِ المَلِكَينِ، فَإنَّهُ هَكَذا سَيَعْمَلُ اللهُ بِكُلِّ المَمالِكِ الَّتِي سَتَعبُرُ إلَيها.

22 f ear them not, for Jehovah your God, He is fighting for you.

لا تَخافُوا مِنهُمْ لِأنَّ إلَهَكُمْ نَفْسَهُ سَيُحارِبُ عَنكُمْ.› حِرمانُ مُوسَى مِنْ دُخُولِ كَنْعان

23 ` And I entreat for grace unto Jehovah, at that time, saying,

«ثُمَّ تَوَسَّلتُ إلَى اللهِ فِي ذَلِكَ اليَومِ، وَقُلْتُ:

24 L ord Jehovah, Thou -- Thou hast begun to shew Thy servant Thy greatness, and Thy strong hand; for who a God in the heavens or in earth who doth according to Thy works, and according to Thy might?

‹يا اللهُ ، ها قَدْ بَدَأْتَ الآنَ تُرِي عَبدَكَ عَظَمَتَكَ وَقُوَّتَكَ. إذْ لا يُوجَدُ إلَهٌ فِي السَّماءِ أوْ عَلَى الأرْضِ يَستَطِيعُ أنْ يَعمَلَ ما تَعمَلُهُ مِنْ أُمُورٍ عَظِيمَةٍ.

25 L et me pass over, I pray Thee, and see the good land which beyond the Jordan, this good hill-country, and Lebanon.

اسْمَحْ لِي بِأنْ أعبُرَ النَّهرَ، وَأنْ أرَى الأرْضَ الصّالِحَةَ غَربَ نَهرِ الأُردُنِّ، لأرَى المِنطَقَةَ الجَبَلِيَّةَ الجَمِيلَةَ وَلُبنانَ.

26 ` And Jehovah sheweth himself wroth with me, for your sake, and hath not hearkened unto me, and Jehovah saith unto me, Enough for thee; add not to speak unto Me any more about this thing:

«لَكِنَّ اللهَ كانَ غاضِباً عَلَيَّ جِدّاً بِسَبَبِكُمْ، وَلَمْ يَستَجِبْ لِي. فَقالَ اللهُ لِي: ‹لا تُصَلِّ أكثَرَ! لا تَطلُبْ مِنِّي هَذا الأمْرَ!

27 g o up the top of Pisgah, and lift up thine eyes westward, and northward, and southward, and eastward, and see with thine eyes -- for thou dost not pass over this Jordan;

اصعَدْ إلَى قِمَّةِ جَبَلِ الفِسجَةِ، وَانظُرْ إلَى الغَربِ وَالشَّمالِ وَالجَنُوبِ وَالشَّرقِ. انْظُرْ إلَى الأرْضِ بِعَينَيكَ، لَكِنَّكَ لَنْ تَعبُرَ نَهرَ الأُردُنِّ هَذا.

28 a nd charge Jehoshua, and strengthen him, and harden him, for he doth pass over before this people, and he doth cause them to inherit the land which thou seest.

أعطِ تَعلِيماتِكَ لِيَشُوعَ، وَساعِدْهُ لِيَكُونَ قَوِيّاً وَشُجاعاً، فَهُوَ مَنْ سَيَقُودُ الشَّعبَ فِي عُبُورِهِمِ النَّهرَ، وَهُوَ مَنْ سَيُوَزِّعُ الأرْضَ الَّتِي تَراها عَلَيهِمْ.›

29 ` And we dwell in a valley over-against Beth-Peor.

«وَهَكَذا بَقَينا فِي الوادِي القَرِيبِ مِنْ بَيتِ فَغُورَ.
