1 A nd upon Azariah son of Oded hath been the Spirit of God,

وَحَلَّ رُوحُ اللهِ عَلَى عَزَرْيا بْنِ عُودِيدَ.

2 a nd he goeth out before Asa, and saith to him, `Hear, me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin; Jehovah with you -- in your being with Him, and if ye seek Him, He is found of you, and if ye forsake Him, He forsaketh you;

فَذَهَبَ عَزَرْيا لِلقاءِ آسا وَقالَ لَهُ: «اسمَعُوني يا آسا، وَيا كُلَّ شَعبِ يَهُوذا وَبَنْيامِيْنَ! اللهُ مَعَكُمْ ما دُمتُمْ مَعَهُ. وَإذا طَلَبْتُمْ اللهَ ، فَسَتَجِدُونَهُ. لَكِنْ إنْ تَرَكْتُمُوهُ، فَسَيَترُكُكُمْ.

3 a nd many days to Israel without a true God, and without a teaching priest, and without law,

ظَلَّتْ إسْرائِيلُ زَمَناً طَويلاً مِنْ غَيْرِ اللهِ الحَقيقِيِّ. وَظَلَّ بَنُو إسْرائِيلَ مِنْ غَيرِ كاهِنٍ يُعَلّمُهُمْ، وَمِنْ غَيرِ شَريعَةٍ.

4 a nd it turneth back in its distress unto Jehovah, God of Israel, and they seek Him, and He is found of them,

لَكِنْ عِندَما كانَ بَنُو إسْرائِيلَ يُواجهُونَ ضِيقاً، كانُوا يَلجَأُونَ إلَى اللهِ ، إلَهِ إسْرائِيلَ، مِنْ جَدِيْدٍ. كانُوا يَطلُبُونَهُ فَيَجِدُونَهُ.

5 a nd in those times there is no peace to him who is going out, and to him who is coming in, for many troubles on all the inhabitants of the lands,

«وَفِي أيّامِ الضِّيقِ تِلكَ، لَمْ يَكُنْ أحَدٌ يَستَطِيعُ أنْ يَتَنَّقَلَ بِأمانٍ. فَقَدْ سادَتِ الاضْطِراباتُ بَينَ الشُّعُوبِ.

6 a nd they have been beaten down, nation by nation, and city by city, for God hath troubled them with every adversity;

فَكانَتْ أُمَّةٌ تَقُومُ عَلَى أُمَّةٍ، وَمَدينَةٌ عَلَى مَدِينَةٍ، لأنَّ اللهَ ابتَلاهُمْ بكُلِّ أنواعِ الضِّيقِ.

7 a nd ye, be ye strong, and let not your hands be feeble, for there is a reward for your work.'

أمَّأ أنتَ وَشَعبُكَ يا آسا، فَتَشَجَّعُوا، وَلا تَضْعُفُوا، لِأنَّكُمْ سَتُكافَأُونَ عَلَى عَمَلِكُمُ الحَسَنِ!»

8 A nd at Asa's hearing these words, and the prophecy of Oded the prophet, he hath strengthened himself, and doth cause the abominations to pass away out of all the land of Judah and Benjamin, and out of the cities that he hath captured from the hill-country of Ephraim, and reneweth the altar of Jehovah that before the porch of Jehovah,

وَتَشَجَّعَ آسا حِينَ سَمِعَ كَلامَ النَّبِيِّ عُودِيدَ وَالرِّسالَةَ الَّتِي أعلَنَها. فَأزالَ الأوثانَ البَغِيضَةَ مِنْ كُلِّ مِنطَقَةِ يَهُوذا وَبَنْيامِيْنَ، وَمِنَ المُدُنِ الَّتِي استَولَى عَلَيها فِي مِنطَقَةِ أفْرايِمَ الجَبَليَّةِ. وَرَمَّمَ مَذبَحَ اللهِ الَّذِيِ أمامَ دِهلِيزِ بَيتِ اللهِ.

9 a nd gathereth all Judah and Benjamin, and the sojourners with them out of Ephraim, and Manasseh, and out of Simeon -- for they have fallen unto him from Israel in abundance, in their seeing that Jehovah his God with him.

ثُمَّ جَمَعَ آسا كُلَّ الشَّعبِ منْ يَهُوذا وَبَنْيامِيْنَ. وَجَمَعَ أيضاً مِنْ عَشائِر أفْرايِمَ وَمَنَسَّى وَشَمْعُونَ الجَماعاتِ الَّتِي انتَقَلَتْ مِنْ أرْضِ إسْرائِيلَ إلَى أرْضِ يَهُوذا. وَقَدْ جاءَ هَؤُلاءِ النّاسُ بِأعْدادٍ كَبِيرَةٍ إلَى يَهُوذا لِأنَّهُمْ رَأَوْا أنَّ إلَهَهُ مَعَهُ.

10 A nd they are gathered to Jerusalem in the third month of the fifteenth year of the reign of Asa,

اجتَمَعَ آسا وَكُلُّ هَؤُلاءِ النّاسِ مَعاً فِي القُدسِ فِي الشَّهرِ الثّالِثِ مِنَ السَّنَةِ الخامِسَةَ عَشْرَةَ لِحُكْمِ آسا.

11 a nd sacrifice to Jehovah on that day from the spoil they have brought in -- oxen seven hundred, and sheep seven thousand,

وَذَبَحُوا للهِ سَبْعَ مِئَةِ ثَورٍ وَسَبعَ مِئَةِ خَرُوفٍ وَماعِزٍ. وَكانَ جَيشُ آسا قَدِ استَولَى عَلَى هَذه المَواشِي وَأشياءَ ثَمِينَةٍ أُخْرَى منْ أعدائِهمْ.

12 a nd they enter into a covenant to seek Jehovah, God of their fathers, with all their heart, and with all their soul,

ثُمَّ تَعاهَدُوا عَلَى أنْ يَتْبَعُوا اللهَ ، إلَهَ آبائِهُمْ، بِكُلِّ قَلُوبِهِمْ وَبِكُلِّ نَفُوسِهِمْ.

13 a nd every one who doth not seek for Jehovah, God of Israel, is put to death, from small unto great, from man unto woman.

وَكانَ كُلُّ مَنْ لا يَطلُبُ اللهَ إلَهَ إسْرائِيلَ يُقتَلُ، مَهما عَلا شَأنُهُ أوْ صَغُرَ، رَجُلاً كانَ أمِ امْرأةً.

14 A nd they swear to Jehovah with a loud voice, and with shouting, and with trumpets, and with cornets,

وَتَعَهَّدَ آسا وَالشَّعْبُ بِصَوتٍ مُرتَفِعٍ أنْ يَظَلُّوا أوفِياءَ للهِ. وَنَفَخُوا فِي الأبْواقِ الَّتِي مِنْ قُرُونِ الكِباشِ.

15 a nd rejoice do all Judah concerning the oath, for with all their heart they have sworn, and with all their good-will they have sought Him, and He is found of them, and Jehovah giveth rest to them round about.

وَفَرِحَ كُلُّ شَعبِ يَهُوذا بِهَذا العَهدِ لِأنَّهُمْ نَذَرُوا للهِ بِكُلِّ قُلُوبِهِمْ، وَطَلَبُوهُ طَوعاً. طَلَبُوهُ بكُلِّ قُلُوبِهِمْ فَوَجَدُوهُ، فَأعطاهُمْ اللهُ سَلاماً وَراحَةً عَلَى كُلِّ حُدُودِهِمْ.

16 A nd also Maachah, mother of Asa the king -- he hath removed her from mistress, in that she hath made for a shrine a horrible thing, and Asa cutteth down her horrible thing, and beateth small, and burneth by the brook Kidron:

وَخَلَعَ آسا أُمَّهُ مَعْكَةَ كَمَلِكَةٍ أُمٍّ، لِأنَّها نَصَبَتْ عَمُوداً بَغِيضاً إكراماً للإلَهَةِ عَشْتَرُوتَ. وَهَدَمَ آسا عَمُودَ عَشْتَرُوتَ وَكَسَّرَهُ تَكسِيراً، ثُمَّ أحرَقَ أجزاءَهُ فِي وادِي قَدْرُونَ.

17 y et the high places have not turned aside from Israel; only, the heart of Asa hath been perfect all his days.

لَمْ تُنزَعِ المُرتَفَعاتُ مِنْ يَهُوذا، غَيرَ أنْ قَلْبَ آسا كانَ وَفِيّاً لِلرَّبِّ طَوالَ حَياتِهِ.

18 A nd he bringeth in the sanctified things of his father, and his own sanctified things, to the house of God, silver, and gold, and vessels.

وَوَضَعَ آسا كُلَّ ما خَصَّصَهُ هُوَ وَأبُوهُ مِنْ أشْياءَ مَصْنُوعَةٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ وَفِضَّةٍ للهِ في بَيتِ اللهِ.

19 A nd war hath not been till the thirty and fifth year of the reign of Asa.

وَلَمْ تَنشُبْ حَربٌ حَتَّى السَّنَةِ الخامسَةِ وَالثَّلاثِينَ منْ حُكمِ آسا.
