1 A nd upon Azariah son of Oded hath been the Spirit of God,

Тогава Божият Дух дойде на Азария, Одидовия син,

2 a nd he goeth out before Asa, and saith to him, `Hear, me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin; Jehovah with you -- in your being with Him, and if ye seek Him, He is found of you, and if ye forsake Him, He forsaketh you;

който излезе да посрещне Аса и му каза: Слушайте ме, Аса и цяла Юда и Вениамине: Господ е с вас, докато вие сте с Него; и ако Го търсите, ще бъде намерен от вас, но ако Го изоставите, и Той ще ви изостави.

3 a nd many days to Israel without a true God, and without a teaching priest, and without law,

Дълго време Израел остана без истинския Бог, без свещеник, който да поучава, и без закон;

4 a nd it turneth back in its distress unto Jehovah, God of Israel, and they seek Him, and He is found of them,

но когато в бедствието си се обърнаха към Господа, Израелевия Бог, и Го потърсиха, Той беше намерен от тях.

5 a nd in those times there is no peace to him who is going out, and to him who is coming in, for many troubles on all the inhabitants of the lands,

И в онези времена не е имало мир нито за излизащия, нито за влизащия, а големи смутове върху всички жители на земите.

6 a nd they have been beaten down, nation by nation, and city by city, for God hath troubled them with every adversity;

Народ беше сломяван от народ и град от град; защото Бог ги смущаваше с всякакво бедствие.

7 a nd ye, be ye strong, and let not your hands be feeble, for there is a reward for your work.'

А вие укрепвайте и да не отслабват ръцете ви; защото делото ви ще бъде възнаградено.

8 A nd at Asa's hearing these words, and the prophecy of Oded the prophet, he hath strengthened himself, and doth cause the abominations to pass away out of all the land of Judah and Benjamin, and out of the cities that he hath captured from the hill-country of Ephraim, and reneweth the altar of Jehovah that before the porch of Jehovah,

Когато Аса чу тези думи и предсказанието на пророк Одид, се ободри и премахна мерзостите от цялата Юдова и Вениаминова земя и от градовете, които беше отнел от Ефремовата хълмиста земя; и поднови Господния жертвеник, който беше пред Господния притвор.

9 a nd gathereth all Judah and Benjamin, and the sojourners with them out of Ephraim, and Manasseh, and out of Simeon -- for they have fallen unto him from Israel in abundance, in their seeing that Jehovah his God with him.

Той събра целия Юда и Вениамин и живеещите между тях пришълци от Ефрем, Манасия и Симеон; защото мнозина от Израел прибягваха при него, като виждаха, че Господ, неговият Бог, беше с него.

10 A nd they are gathered to Jerusalem in the third month of the fifteenth year of the reign of Asa,

Те се събраха в Йерусалим в третия месец в петнадесетата година от царуването на Аса.

11 a nd sacrifice to Jehovah on that day from the spoil they have brought in -- oxen seven hundred, and sheep seven thousand,

В това време принесоха жертви на Господа от донесената плячка - седемстотин говеда и седем хиляди овце.

12 a nd they enter into a covenant to seek Jehovah, God of their fathers, with all their heart, and with all their soul,

И встъпиха в завет да търсят Господа, Бога на бащите си, от цялото си сърце и от цялата си душа

13 a nd every one who doth not seek for Jehovah, God of Israel, is put to death, from small unto great, from man unto woman.

и да бъде умъртвяван всеки, малък или голям, мъж или жена, който не би потърсил Господа, Израелевия Бог.

14 A nd they swear to Jehovah with a loud voice, and with shouting, and with trumpets, and with cornets,

И се заклеха на Господа със силен глас, с възклицание, с тръби и с рогове.

15 a nd rejoice do all Judah concerning the oath, for with all their heart they have sworn, and with all their good-will they have sought Him, and He is found of them, and Jehovah giveth rest to them round about.

Тогава цяла Юдея се развесели поради клетвата; защото се заклеха от цялото си сърце и потърсиха Бога с цялата си воля; и Той беше намерен от тях и Господ им даде покой отвсякъде.

16 A nd also Maachah, mother of Asa the king -- he hath removed her from mistress, in that she hath made for a shrine a horrible thing, and Asa cutteth down her horrible thing, and beateth small, and burneth by the brook Kidron:

А още и майка си Мааха цар Аса свали да не бъде царица, понеже тя беше направила отвратителен идол на Ашера; Аса съсече нейния идол, стри го и го изгори при потока Кедрон.

17 y et the high places have not turned aside from Israel; only, the heart of Asa hath been perfect all his days.

Но високите места не бяха премахнати от Израел; сърцето обаче на Аса беше съвършено през всичките му дни.

18 A nd he bringeth in the sanctified things of his father, and his own sanctified things, to the house of God, silver, and gold, and vessels.

Той донесе в Божия дом посветените от баща му вещи и посветените от самия него сребро, злато и съдове.

19 A nd war hath not been till the thirty and fifth year of the reign of Asa.

И нямаше вече война до тридесет и петата година от царуването на Аса.
