1 A nd Jesus having been born in Beth-Lehem of Judea, in the days of Herod the king, lo, mages from the east came to Jerusalem,

А когато се роди Исус във Витлеем Юдейски в дните на цар Ирод, ето, мъдреци от изток пристигнаха в Йерусалим.

2 s aying, `Where is he who was born king of the Jews? for we saw his star in the east, and we came to bow to him.'

И казаха: Къде е Юдейският Цар, който се е родил? Защото видяхме звездата Му на изток и дойдохме да Му се поклоним.

3 A nd Herod the king having heard, was stirred, and all Jerusalem with him,

Като чу това, цар Ирод се смути и цял Йерусалим заедно с него.

4 a nd having gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he was inquiring from them where the Christ is born.

Затова събра всички главни свещеници и книжници на народа и ги разпитваше къде трябва да се роди Христос.

5 A nd they said to him, `In Beth-Lehem of Judea, for thus it hath been written through the prophet,

А те му казаха: Във Витлеем Юдейски, защото така е писано чрез пророка:

6 A nd thou, Beth-Lehem, the land of Judah, thou art by no means the least among the leaders of Judah, for out of thee shall come one leading, who shall feed My people Israel.'

"И ти, Витлееме, земьо Юдова, никак не си най-малък между Юдовите началства, защото от тебе ще произлезе Вожд, Който ще бъде пастир на Моя народ Израел."

7 T hen Herod, privately having called the mages, did inquire exactly from them the time of the appearing star,

Тогава Ирод повика тайно мъдреците и внимателно разучи от тях времето, когато се е явила звездата.

8 a nd having sent them to Beth-Lehem, he said, `Having gone -- inquire ye exactly for the child, and whenever ye may have found, bring me back word, that I also having come may bow to him.'

И като ги изпрати във Витлеем, каза им: Идете, разпитайте внимателно за Детето; и като Го намерите, известете ме, за да ида и аз да Му се поклоня.

9 A nd they, having heard the king, departed, and lo, the star, that they did see in the east, did go before them, till, having come, it stood over where the child was.

А те, като изслушаха царя, си тръгнаха; и, ето, звездата, която бяха видели на изток, вървеше пред тях, докато дойде и спря над мястото, където беше Детето.

10 A nd having seen the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy,

Като видяха звездата, се зарадваха твърде много.

11 a nd having come to the house, they found the child with Mary his mother, and having fallen down they bowed to him, and having opened their treasures, they presented to him gifts, gold, and frankincense, and myrrh,

И като влязоха в къщата, видяха Детето с майка Му Мария, паднаха и Му се поклониха; и като отвориха съкровищата си, принесоха Му дарове - злато, ливан и смирна.

12 a nd having been divinely warned in a dream not to turn back unto Herod, through another way they withdrew to their own region.

А понеже бяха предупредени от Бога насън да не се връщат при Ирод, те си отидоха по друг път в своята страна.

13 A nd on their having withdrawn, lo, a messenger of the Lord doth appear in a dream to Joseph, saying, `Having risen, take the child and his mother, and flee to Egypt, and be thou there till I may speak to thee, for Herod is about to seek the child to destroy him.'

А след като си отидоха, ето, ангел от Господа се явява насън на Йосиф и казва: Стани, вземи Детето и майка Му и бягай в Египет, и остани там, докато ти кажа, защото Ирод ще потърси Детето, за да Го погуби.

14 A nd he, having risen, took the child and his mother by night, and withdrew to Egypt,

И така, той стана, взе Детето и майка Му през нощта и отиде в Египет,

15 a nd he was there till the death of Herod, that it might be fulfilled that was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, `Out of Egypt I did call My Son.'

където остана до смъртта на Ирод, за да се сбъдне изреченото от Господа чрез пророка, който казва: "От Египет повиках Сина Си." Избиването на младенците

16 T hen Herod, having seen that he was deceived by the mages, was very wroth, and having sent forth, he slew all the male children in Beth-Lehem, and in all its borders, from two years and under, according to the time that he inquired exactly from the mages.

Тогава Ирод, като видя, че беше подигран от мъдреците, разяри се много и прати да погубят всички момченца във Витлеем и във всичките му околности, на две години и по-малки, според времето, което внимателно беше разучил от мъдреците.

17 T hen was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet, saying,

Тогава се изпълни изреченото от пророк Йеремия, който казва:

18 ` A voice in Ramah was heard -- lamentation and weeping and much mourning -- Rachel weeping her children, and she would not be comforted because they are not.'

"Глас се чу в Рама, плач и голямо ридание; Рахил оплакваше децата си и не искаше да се утеши, защото ги няма вече." Завръщането от Египет

19 A nd Herod having died, lo, a messenger of the Lord in a dream doth appear to Joseph in Egypt,

А като умря Ирод, ето, ангел от Господа се яви насън на Йосиф в Египет и каза:

20 s aying, `Having risen, take the child and his mother, and be going to the land of Israel, for they have died -- those seeking the life of the child.'

Стани, вземи Детето и майка Му и иди в Израелевата земя; защото измряха онези, които искаха живота на Детето.

21 A nd he, having risen, took the child and his mother, and came to the land of Israel,

И така, той стана, взе Детето и майка Му и дойде в Израелевата земя.

22 a nd having heard that Archelaus doth reign over Judea instead of Herod his father, he was afraid to go thither, and having been divinely warned in a dream, he withdrew to the parts of Galilee,

Но като чу, че над Юдея царувал Архелай, на мястото на баща си Ирод, страхуваше се да иде там; и предупреден от Бога насън, се оттегли в Галилейските околии,

23 a nd coming, he dwelt in a city named Nazareth, that it might be fulfilled that was spoken through the prophets, that `A Nazarene he shall be called.'

дойде и се засели в един град, наречен Назарет; за да се сбъдне казаното чрез пророците, че ще се нарече Назарянин.
