1 A nd it cometh to pass, at king Hezekiah's hearing, that he rendeth his garments, and covereth himself with sackcloth, and entereth the house of Jehovah,

А когато цар Езекия чу думите му, раздра дрехите си, покри се с вретище и влезе в Господния дом.

2 a nd sendeth Eliakim, who over the house, and Shebna the scribe, and the elders of the priests, covering themselves with sackcloth, unto Isaiah the prophet, son of Amoz,

И прати управителя на двореца Елиаким, секретаря Шевна и старшите свещеници, покрити с вретища, при пророк Исая, Амосовия син.

3 a nd they say unto him, `Thus said Hezekiah -- A day of distress, and rebuke, and despising this day; for come have sons unto the birth, and power there is not to bring forth.

Те му казаха: Така казва Езекия: Ден на скръб, на изобличение и на оскърбление е този ден, защото настана часът да се родят децата, но няма сила за раждане.

4 ` It may be Jehovah thy God doth hear all the words of the chief of the butlers with which the king of Asshur his lord hath sent him to reproach the living God, and hath decided concerning the words that Jehovah thy God hath heard, and thou hast lifted up prayer for the remnant that is found.'

Може би Господ, твоят Бог, ще чуе всички думи на Рапсак, когото господарят му, асирийският цар, прати да укорява живия Бог, и ще изобличи думите, които Господ, твоят Бог, чу; затова възнеси молба за остатъка, който е оцелял.

5 A nd the servants of king Hezekiah come in unto Isaiah,

И така, слугите на цар Езекия отидоха при Исая,

6 a nd Isaiah saith to them, `Thus do ye say unto your lord: Thus said Jehovah, Be not afraid because of the words that thou hast heard, with which the servants of the king of Asshur have reviled Me.

Исая им каза: Така да предадете на господаря си: Така казва Господ: Не бой се от думите, които си чул, с които слугите на асирийския цар Ме похулиха.

7 L o, I am giving in him a spirit, and he hath heard a report, and hath turned back to his land, and I have caused him to fall by the sword in his land.'

Аз ще вложа в него такъв дух, че като чуе слух, ще се върне в своята земя; и ще го направя да падне от меч в своята земя.

8 A nd the chief of the butlers turneth back and findeth the king of Asshur fighting against Libnah, for he hath heard that he hath journeyed from Lachish.

И така, Рапсак, като се върна, намери, че асирийският цар воюваше против Ливна; защото беше чул, че той заминал от Лахис.

9 A nd he heareth concerning Tirhakah king of Cush, saying, `Lo, he hath come out to fight with thee;' and he turneth and sendeth messengers unto Hezekiah, saying,

А царят, когато чу да казват за етиопския цар Тирак: Ето, излязъл да воюва против тебе, пра̀ти пак посланици до Езекия, като каза:

10 ` Thus do ye speak unto Hezekiah king of Judah, saying, Let not thy God lift thee up in whom thou art trusting, saying, Jerusalem is not given into the hand of the king of Asshur.

Така да говорите на Юдейския цар Езекия: Твоят Бог, на Когото се уповаваш, да не те мами, като казва: Йерусалим няма да бъде предаден в ръката на асирийския цар.

11 L o, thou hast heard that which the kings of Asshur have done to all the lands -- to devote them; and thou art delivered!

Ето, ти чу какво са направили асирийските царе на всичките земи, как са ги обрекли на изтребление; че ти ли ще се избавиш?

12 d id the gods of the nations deliver them whom my fathers destroyed -- Gozan, and Haran, and Rezeph, and the sons of Eden, who in Thelassar?

Боговете на народите избавиха ли онези, които бащите ми изтребиха: Гозан, Харан, Ресеф и еденяните, които бяха в Таласар?

13 W here the king of Hamath, and the king of Arpad, and the king of the city of Sepharvaim, Hena, and Ivvah?'

Къде е ематският цар, арфадският цар и царят на града Сефаруим, на Ена и на Ава?

14 A nd Hezekiah taketh the letters out of the hand of the messengers, and readeth them, and goeth up to the house of Jehovah, and Hezekiah spreadeth it before Jehovah.

А когато Езекия взе писмото от ръката на посланиците и го прочете, той отиде в Господния дом и го разгъна пред Господа.

15 A nd Hezekiah prayeth before Jehovah, and saith, `O Jehovah, God of Israel, inhabiting the cherubs, Thou God Himself -- Thyself alone -- to all the kingdoms of the earth: Thou hast made the heavens and the earth.

И Езекия се помоли пред Господа: Господи, Боже Израелев, Който седиш между херувимите, Ти и само Ти си Бог на всички земни царства; Ти си направил небето и земята.

16 I ncline, O Jehovah, Thine ear, and hear; open, O Jehovah, Thine eyes, and see; and hear Thou the words of Sennacherib with which he hath sent him to reproach the living God.

Приклони, Господи, ухото Си и чуй; отвори, Господи, очите Си и виж; и чуй думите, с които Сенахирим изпрати този да похули живия Бог.

17 ` Truly, O Jehovah, kings of Asshur have laid waste the nations, and their land,

Наистина, Господи, асирийските царе запустиха народите и земите им;

18 a nd have put their gods into fire, for they no gods, but work of the hands of man, wood and stone, and destroy them.

и хвърлиха в огън боговете им, защото не бяха богове, а дело на човешки ръце, дървета и камъни; затова ги погубиха.

19 A nd now, O Jehovah our God, save us, we pray Thee, out of his hand, and know do all kingdoms of the earth that Thou Jehovah God -- Thyself alone.'

И така, сега, Господи, Боже наш, отърви ни, моля Ти се, от ръката му, за да познаят всички земни царства, че Ти си Господ, единственият Бог.

20 A nd Isaiah son of Amoz sendeth unto Hezekiah, saying, `Thus said Jehovah, God of Israel, That which thou hast prayed unto Me concerning Sennacherib king of Asshur I have heard:

Тогава Исая, Амосовият син, прати до Езекия да кажат: Така казва Господ, Израелевият Бог: Чух това, за което си се помолил на Мене против асирийския цар Сенахирим.

21 t his the word that Jehovah spake concerning him: `Trampled on thee -- laughed at thee, Hath the virgin daughter of Zion Behind thee shaken the head -- Hath the daughter of Jerusalem?

Ето словото, което Господ изговори за него: Презря те, присмя ти се девицата, Сионовата дъщеря; зад гърба ти поклати глава йерусалимската дъщеря.

22 W hom hast thou reproached and reviled? And against whom lifted up a voice? Yea, thou dost lift up on high thine eyes -- Against the Holy One of Israel!

Кого си обидил и похулил ти? И против Кого си говорил с висок глас и си надигнал нагоре очите си? Против Святия Израелев.

23 B y the hand of thy messengers Thou hast reproached the Lord, and sayest: In the multitude of my chariots I have come up to a high place of mountains -- The sides of Lebanon, And I cut down the height of its cedars, The choice of its firs, And I enter the lodging of its extremity, The forest of its Carmel.

Господ си обидил ти чрез посланиците си, като си казал: С множеството на колесниците си излязох аз върху височината на планините, върху уединенията на Ливан; и ще изсека високите му кедри, отбраните му елхи; и ще вляза в най-крайното помещение по него, в гората на неговия Кармил.

24 I have digged, and drunk strange waters, And I dry up with the sole of my steps All floods of a bulwark.

Аз изкопах и пих чужди води и със стъпалото на краката си ще пресуша всички реки на Египет.

25 H ast thou not heard from afar, it I made, From days of old that I formed it? Now I have brought it in, And it becometh a desolation, Ruinous heaps fenced cities,

Не си ли чул, че Аз съм наредил това отдавна и от древни времена съм начертал това? А сега го изпълних, така че ти да превръщаш укрепени градове в купове развалини.

26 A nd their inhabitants feeble-handed, They were broken down, and are dried up, They have been the herb of the field, And the greenness of the tender grass, Grass of the roofs, And blasted corn -- before it hath risen up!

Затова жителите им станаха безсилни, уплашиха се и се посрамиха; бяха като трева на полето, като зеленина, като трева на покрива на къщата и като жито, препълнено, преди да стане стъбло.

27 A nd thy sitting down, and thy going out, And thy coming in, I have known, And thine anger towards Me;

Но Аз зная жилището ти, излизането ти и влизането ти и буйството ти против Мене.

28 B ecause of thine anger towards Me, And thy noise -- it came up into Mine ears, I have put My hook in thy nose, And My bridle in thy lips, And have caused thee to turn back, In the way in which thou camest.

Понеже буйството ти против Мен и надменността ти стигнаха до ушите Ми, затова ще сложа куката Си в ноздрите ти и юздата Си - в устните ти, и ще те върна през пътя, по който си дошъл.

29 A nd this to thee the sign, Food of the year the spontaneous growth, And in the second year the self-produced, And in the third year sow ye, and reap, And plant vineyards, and eat their fruits.

И това ще ти бъде знамението: Тази година ще ядете това, което е саморасло, втората година - това, което израства от същото; а третата година посейте и пожънете, насадете лозя и яжте плода им.

30 A nd it hath continued -- The escaped of the house of Judah That hath been left -- to take root beneath, And hath made fruit upward.

И оцелялото от Юдовия дом, което е останало, пак ще пуска корени долу и ще дава плод горе.

31 F or from Jerusalem goeth out a remnant, And an escape from mount Zion; The zeal of Jehovah doth this.

Защото от Йерусалим ще излезе остатък и от хълма Сион - оцелялото. Ревността на Господа на Силите ще извърши това.

32 T herefore, thus said Jehovah, Concerning the king of Asshur: He doth not come in unto this city, Nor doth he shoot there an arrow, Nor doth he come before it with shield. Nor doth he pour out against it a mount.

Затова така казва Господ за асирийския цар: Няма да влезе в този град, нито ще хвърли там стрела, нито ще дойде пред него с щит, нито ще издигне против него могила.

33 I n the way that he cometh in -- In it he turneth back, And unto this city he doth not come in, The affirmation of Jehovah --

По пътя, през който е дошъл, по него ще се върне и в този град няма да влезе, казва Господ;

34 A nd I have covered over this city, To save it, for Mine own sake, And for the sake of David My servant.'

защото ще защитя този град, за да го избавя, заради Себе Си и заради слугата Ми Давид.

35 A nd it cometh to pass, in that night, that a messenger of Jehovah goeth out, and smiteth in the camp of Asshur a hundred eighty and five thousand, and they rise early in the morning, and lo, all of them dead corpses.

И в същата нощ ангел Господен излезе и порази сто осемдесет и пет хиляди души в асирийския стан; и когато на сутринта станаха хората, всички онези бяха мъртви трупове.

36 A nd Sennacherib king of Asshur journeyeth, and goeth, and turneth back, and dwelleth in Nineveh;

И така, асирийският цар Сенахирим си тръгна, върна се и живееше в Ниневия.

37 a nd it cometh to pass, he is bowing himself in the house of Nisroch his god, and Adramelech and Sharezar have smitten him with the sword, and they have escaped to the land of Ararat, and Esar-Haddon his son reigneth in his stead.

А докато се кланяше в светилището на бога си Нисрох, неговите синове Адрамелех и Сарасар го убиха с меч; и побегнаха в араратската земя. А вместо него се възцари синът му Есарадон.
